Listener comments!

  12:05pm
Happy Listener:

This "Bass Odyssey" has yet to leave port, IMO.
  12:06pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Kurt.
  12:07pm

  12:07pm
hamburger:

  12:07pm
Handsome Harry:

  12:08pm
BodegaMan:

  12:09pm
12539:

(I love these animated gifs!)
  12:12pm
dw:

What is the name for today (by Maclise definition)?
  12:23pm
jan:

If you keep up this torturous musical programming, someday you, too, might get invited to the Whitehouse, just like your predecessor Kenny G.
That's what he did regularly. I understand that the next stop after D.C.
will be Guantanamo Bay, where he will question some detainees.
  12:26pm
still b/p:

Thought that sounded Yoko-ish, and learned she and Henry were friends and creative associates. He performed in her loft.
  12:30pm
DJ KG:

i could only hope to follow in kenny g's footsteps. as a baby step, i've had his initials surgically grafted onto my name.
  12:31pm
DJ KG:

yeah, yoko was hanging with that crowd too! man, rock'n'roll wrecked her career...

hi everyone!
  12:31pm
12539:

Aren't any bulls ever born?
  12:31pm
Julie:

I like the idea of Kenny subjecting the government to an hour of pain!
  12:34pm
ranjit:

Can we have garland hirschi's cows next?
  12:35pm
Cows:

Moo!
  12:36pm
ranjit:

how long does a great great great grandma cow live?
  12:39pm
Nanker de Tucson:

If dairy, then a 10-12 yr lifespan
  12:42pm
Handsome Harry:

I don't know about you, but I lost count pretty much right away. I think Slayer could do an excellent cover version of this piece.
  12:43pm
freznel:

if these were rabbits youd have to play a black metal song with double bass
  12:43pm
DJ KG:

SLAYER!!
  12:43pm
Bull:

Yeah, can I get some help here. I mean, fun's fun, but Jeez!
  12:43pm
DJ KG:

this tom johnson track goes really well with the spinning pat sajak!
  12:44pm
pheezy:

Now for the real question, how many times did he say the word "the" in the whole piece? Were you REALLY paying attention?
  12:44pm
still b/p:

And when do they come home, these cows?
  12:45pm
ranjit:

pheezy, i was distracted by the cow in a gorilla suit.
  12:46pm
DJ KG:

pheezy, like.
  12:46pm
dw:

Today is: establishment of the dreamweapon
  12:47pm
pheezy:

ranjit, you just warped to the 5th level.
  12:48pm
farm surfer:

Cowabuncha!
  1:03pm
Handsome Harry:

I wonder how often the Liverpudlian Cathedral Bell Ringers get together and rock out.
  1:21pm
kevin:

Is this Lou Reed on guitar?
  1:23pm
DJ KG:

actually tony conrad, i assume playing an amplified violin
  1:34pm
Kevin-SFCA:

Thanks for the Maclise!
  2:04pm
Guy with Nail Clippers and Four Oz. of Shampoo:

Tell the pilot I am sajacking this plane, effective immediately.
  2:05pm
Ike:

Backslash?!?!? Isn't that a regular slash!!!!! ISN'T IT?
  2:08pm
DJ KG:

oh christ, ike. yes, i suppose it's a foreslash. talk to ira the k about it.
  2:10pm
Guy with Nail Clippers:

I can forward slash you bad with these clippers! So turn this plane around now, or I will sajack your asses straight into the ground.
  2:30pm
GlyphBoy:

It would be unnecessarily stating the obvious to say foreslash. It's just a slash.
"Yo, saw a squirrel. It was a one-headed squirrel."
  2:31pm
Pat S.:

Have another spin, contestant!
  2:34pm
Woodland:

This so reminds me of childhood family picnics in the woods.
  2:38pm
Ike:

Thank you GlyphBoy. I was just thinking that. I would recommend that Kurt rename himself One-Headed Squirrel except that would infringe on DJ Rich Hazelton's WFMU conceptual squirrel territory and then they'd have to duel by smashing free jazz records over each other's heads until one or the other passes out.
  2:39pm
Vanna White:

As of now, I am in control here, given Pat's de facto incapacity.
  2:42pm
Ike:

You mean he's too dizzy from all that spinning?
  2:43pm
Vanna White:

Affirmative. I'm his Alexander Haig.
  2:45pm
Contestant:

More like Wheel of Misfortune
  2:49pm
Woodland:

Mommy, what's a "dystopic vortex of ennuie"?
  2:49pm
David Clayton-Thomas:

What goes up
Must come down...
  2:51pm
Mike East:

I just got a copy of this Aaron Siegel piece last week. 10 glockenspiels, right? I dig it.
  2:51pm
freznel:

great show
  2:51pm
Little Boy:

I've seen one-headed squirrels, more than once. They do exist!
  2:54pm
One-Headed Ike:

I dig this Aaron Siegel piece too. As for slashes, what does Ira the K know about it? I think he put a bad apostrophe in a song title just to annoy me, even though he doesn't know me.
  2:55pm
Ilene Forward:

There is a solidus among us.
  2:58pm
wiki:

The slash is a sign, "/", used as a punctuation mark and for various other purposes. It is often called a forward slash ...
  2:59pm
Reader:

I always read her name as "Petulant Clerk."
  3:01pm
Nay:

It is commonly *mistakenly* called a forward slash.
