Listener comments!

  7:14pm
hopey:

I totally disagree with text-to-speech guests.
  7:31pm
@ibrokenjames:

the nuclear power plant attached to the hippy camp. best description of the problem ever.
  7:32pm
Anonymous Internet Marxist:

Jay, you should check out the work of C.L.R. James - he was a die hard communist who HATED the idea of the van guard party.
  7:33pm
Listener Terry:

Hey Stephen! Terry Anderson here. Came to the show late but recognized your voice instantly. I think the last we saw of each other we spoke of the TAZ.
  7:43pm
Ike:

Some of these ideas are good but calling any of it "Communist" is self-defeating given what a massive catastrophe the Soviet Union and China were. Have you BEEN there? Jesus Christ, Russia and China are ugly. How the hell is Communism is supposed to work on a practical level, to prevent Stalin types from grabbing the vacuum of power? Too absurdly idealistic. Be practical. And call it something else. The word "Communism" is tainted.

jerry siegel:

Very nice!

Sceptic:

Be careful of what you say about Strauss-Khan. There's a very good chance he was framed.
  8:01pm
Ike:

Oh please. As with all conspiracies, framings are rare and highly unusual because they're difficult to pull off. Usually the easiest explanation is the most plausible one and the intricate explanation is the most unlikely. Only that guy's political allies think he was framed.
  8:03pm
Sceptic:

Myself, I'm withholding judgment until more is know.
  8:05pm
Ike:

Well, I can respect THAT, but in that case, I would avoid saying anything like "very good chance" if you don't want to sound like a fringe conspiracy wackjob. :)
  8:07pm
Ike:

Fair enough. I can agree with that. However, if you knew what Sarkoszy's crew were capable of, you too might not hesitate to be suspicious.
  8:08pm
Ike:

WOAH there Sceptic you wrote a comment using my name! Yipes!
  8:09pm
Sceptic:

Typing before thinking, as I was addressing you.
  8:11pm
Ike:

Yeah people do that sometimes but it still freaks me out... the most benign form of identity theft, I guess! :)
  8:12pm
Sceptic:

It's OK. I was only _borrowing_ you identity. You can have it back now.
  8:13pm
Ike:

Ha ha ha!
  9:06pm
Ike:

OOOOPS, wow! Bronwyn and Jay forgot to shut down their comments!
  9:13pm
Suzies:

  9:18pm
darue:
