cheri:

  1:10am
Matt from Springfield:

Hello Joe!
A fine "moonlight serenade" from The Caretaker!
  1:11am
Joe McG:

Hey, Matt! What's happening?
  1:11am
Adam in Portland:

That Caretaker release is really growing on me. Checked bits of it out on the Aquarius Records site. Thanks for guiding me through a full track, Joe. Great show, of course!
  1:12am
Adam in Portland:

P/S, good evening, all.
  1:12am
Matt from Springfield:

I see Ikebe Shakedown is back, as well as "D.I.Y. and (Very) Indie Postpunk"!! What a name! Definitely will check that out!
Good evening to you Adam! It's more like late night on the East Coast here!
  1:13am
Joe McG:

Hey, Adam! Thanks for checkin' in. I'm getting fond of the Caretaker album myself. I was tempted to play a couple more tracks...
  1:13am
Adam in Portland:

We're all on Mcgasko Standard Time. ;-)
  1:15am
Joe McG:

I ought to dig out a standard or two and live up to it!
  1:16am
Adam in Portland:

With Horace Silver you're so, so close, Sir. Kudos.
  1:16am
fleep:

Another unsweetened almond milk, bartender ... and keep 'em comin'. No, I'll tell YOU when I've had enough. Pour!
  1:17am
Adam in Portland:

Miss Nina Simone is never too far away with wit and wisdom.
  1:18am
Adam in Portland:

Most unconscionable faux pas EVER! Please accept my apologies everyone. MS. Nina Simone.
  1:19am
Joe McG:

You're lucky she's not in the room, Adam.
  1:20am
Adam in Portland:

Indeed. I can feel the slap as it is. ;-)
  1:20am
Adam in Portland:

Upbraided would be an understatement. Haha.
  1:21am
cheri:

joe maybe you can spin more k.c & the sunshine band,,,
  1:21am
Adam in Portland:

Ms. Simone, though you are no longer around for a written apology, please know I know you are the High Priestess of Soul.
  1:24am
Adam in Portland:

Cheri, are you wearing your-your-your boogie shoes?
  1:26am
fleep:

Ah, that's better. The fidelity was getting a little too good, Almost pop'n'scratch time!
  1:26am
Adam in Portland:

With all this past week's mass media Weiner hysteria it feels to me like we could all use some Screamin' Jay Hawkins to get things right.
  1:27am
Matt from Springfield:

Since you're playing old blues, it's worth mentioning I saw a license plate the other day labeled: "CC R1DER"! That's great, because 1) someone has good taste in blues, and 2) the "1" means SOMEONE ELSE already had that plate, so there's at least TWO people with great taste in classic blues!
  1:29am
Matt from Springfield:

@Adam: Now wait just a minute, Rep. Weiner's attention is totally warranted; he put a spell on her. Because she's his. Not to mention crotch shots on Twitter is a lot less smart than anyone nowadays should be.
  1:29am
Adam in Portland:

@Matt: wish I could fit Mighty Hannibal on a personalized license plate.
  1:31am
Adam in Portland:

True, he should have been wiser with his home photography experiments, but we should all get out of his underpants, no?
  1:31am
fleep:

The aversion therapy for sex addiction is harsh, they make you look at pictures of attractive women while honey badgers chew your ankles.
  1:32am
Matt from Springfield:

@Adam: Yes, as quickly as possible! Couldn't agree with you more! ;)
  1:32am
Adam in Portland:

MGHTY HNN1BL?
  1:33am
Adam in Portland:

Ahhhh, Honey Badger meme, I meesed you.
  1:34am
Adam in Portland:

I miss "Muffins" even more.
  1:36am
Adam in Portland:

Millie, where all the solid cats AT?
  1:36am
Matt from Springfield:

OH NOOO YOU DI'INT...you pulled out LADY Millie Jackson!!!
Tha party's started!! Lawd have mercy!!
  1:38am
cheri:

joe could you deticate this millie jackson tune for me??
  1:39am
Joe McG:

Sure, Cheri, it's all yours. Hope you enjoyed it!
  1:40am
cheri:

thanx joe!!!=)
  1:41am
northguineahills:

Enjoying the set, Joe!
  1:42am
fleep:

Is the faster rpm of a 45 the analog equivalent of a higher sample rate? Or they just engineered diffrently than the same song on an LP? There's something so compelling about 45 sound...
  1:43am
Adam in Portland:

@Matt: you ain't lyin'! I just threw on my Gazelles and an electric blue suit.
  1:43am
Joe McG:

Thanks, ngh! I think the grooves are actually wider on a 45, so you can fit more info. ..
  1:44am
fleep:

Interesting, thanks Joe!
  1:45am
cheri:

now there's an odd couple ----alice cooper & betty wright!!
  1:45am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, we're Welcomed to the Clean Up Woman's Nightmare!
@Adam: That's why I'm so glad we have Joe McG!
  1:46am
Chop Scott:

I love it to death when Alice tells a story...
  1:47am
Adam in Portland:

@Cheri: great point! I think I'd know like to hear Alice do a duet with Bettye Lavette.
@Matt: AMEN, Brother!
  1:47am
Joe McG:

Hey, Chop Scott! I do, too, but like Betty, I don't believe he's telling the truth!
  1:48am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh Lordy, Theme from M*A*S*H again...but Disco-fied!
  1:49am
Adam in Portland:

When I was a youngster I had a few of those mortifyingly indefensible/undeniably amazing KTEL television theme records. :-)
  1:50am
cheri:

well g'night all,, thank you for your kindness joe,,,if you see julie tell her cheri said hello,, ok joe??
  1:51am
Adam in Portland:

URRRM, I also owned the soundtrack for the film "Convoy." haha.
  1:51am
Joe McG:

Goodnight, Cheri!
  1:51am
Adam in Portland:

G'night, Cheri! Be well.
  1:53am
Adam in Portland:

Lucifer sounds somewhat surprisingly pleasant and avuncular.
  1:54am
fleep:

He's a man of wealth and taste
  1:54am
Adam in Portland:

ZIGABOO!
  1:54am
Joe McG:

Especially for a guy who wants to do it with Mother Nature. Yuck!
  1:55am
Adam in Portland:

@Fleep: noted, but he also sounds like he wouldn't be above feeding lambs with a baby's bottle.
  1:56am
Adam in Portland:

Y'know, like Grampa Walton. Haha.
  1:58am
Adam in Portland:

Joe, I live in Portland, Oregon. Every fifth person I come across wants to do it with Mother Nature! Haha. BUT, you can't fool Mother Nature.
  1:58am
Joe McG:

Ha ha ha!
  2:01am
Matt from Springfield:

This is the GOOD years for dancehall I was telling you about! Late 80s and early 90s, preferably Sly & Robbie produced tracks.
  2:03am
Adam in Portland:

"Tears" sure is a pretty track; one I had not heard before.
  2:04am
Joe McG:

I love Kotch's voice.
  2:05am
Adam in Portland:

Woooooof, me too!! Like I do Gregory Isaacs' as well.
  2:12am
Adam in Portland:

Joe, next you can play some Joyce McKinney Experience. Haha.
  2:17am
Brian in UK:

Mornin' everyone. Some great group names today, Joe.
  2:20am
Adam in Portland:

DIIIING!
  2:23am
Adam in Portland:

Joe, I felt exactly the same way when the Sonic's Rendezvous Band box set came out a few years back.
  2:24am
Joe McG:

I hear you, Adam. All those years of, like, two singles, and then: BAM!
  2:26am
Adam in Portland:

Revelation!
  2:27am
Adam in Portland:

This Mickey Newbury is wonderful, and brand new to me.
  2:28am
Joe McG:

I'll be playing more in upcoming weeks, Adam. I'm so pleased about this box set.
  2:28am
Adam in Portland:

And this whistling would go quite nicely with Steel Mill's flutes.
  2:29am
Adam in Portland:

I'm thankful Drag City did you, and other Mickey Newbury fans, the justice of putting the box out.
  2:34am
Joe McG:

I hope there's a part two of his mid-70s stuff!
  2:35am
D. Blumin:

Newbury box is amazing! And, Adam in Portland, what Steel Mill was missing was a triangle player!
  2:37am
Adam in Portland:

Daniel, I agree. That and the foresight to stick around for some touring with Iron Maiden. I wonder if they did any shows with early Judas Priest. Haha.
  2:40am
Matt from Springfield:

Was this written by John D. Loudermilk? Interesting hearing his version in any case.
  2:40am
D. Blumin:

Keep Feeding the Flames, Adam!!!!
  2:41am
Adam in Portland:

I mean some shows with Elf, at least
  2:43am
Adam in Portland:

Can we all take a moment to miss Betsy Nichols?
  2:43am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Yes, he wrote all the songs on the LP. It also includes his version of "Tobacco Road" and "Indian Reservation," big hits for other people.
  2:45am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Joe! Heard of John Loudermilk as a writer before but he's a great singer, I'm looking into him now!
  2:55am
Adam in Portland:

Another fantastic show, Joe. Excited to have received your great premium in the mail today. I'm going to run it through tomorrow, and will surely be hitting you up for your own two unreleased track box set soon. ;-)
  2:55am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Adam! Have a great weekend!
  2:57am
Adam in Portland:

See you soon, Matt. D. Blumin. All.
  2:58am
Matt from Springfield:

Goodnight Joe! Adam! Dan Blumin! All!
