Hi everyone! Thanks for listening in, and for commenting!

Julie, did you go to Aux 33 Tours when you were up there? I got a bunch of stuff there, including all the singles.
  9:12pm
Adam in Portland:

Julie: that comes close. Get your mitts dirty; swing some iron around. :-)
  9:13pm
Julie London:

Hmm probably. If it was in Mont-Royal almost definitely. I have a great card from Le Fox Troc with Jane & Serge on it :)
  9:13pm
Julie London:

@adam swing some iron? Is that a gentle way of saying you'd like me to come by and iron your clothes
  9:15pm
Adam in Portland:

Julie: could ya? Hahaha. Just teasing. Of course not. I was just imagining you in a Godley and Creme video. Ha!
  9:16pm
frenchee:

Frenchee like français singeee!
  9:16pm
E.L.:

  9:16pm
Julie London:

But few places I remember the names of, like the awesome metal place on Mont
  9:18pm
Adam in Portland:

Julie: I'd rather you just send me a Molton Brown Aloe Bar for Men. Hahaha. I'll repay you with a bloody red French vintage if some sort? :-)
  9:19pm
Adam in Portland:

....something Nick Cave would approve of.
  9:23pm
Adam in Portland:

  9:50pm
fred:

  9:54pm
efd:

  9:58pm
efd:

Ted, I'm pretty sure Nazz Nazz is in the library - what did you have in mind?

  9:59pm
Quebecois:

je me souviens!!!!!!!!!!!
  10:08pm
Doctor B.:

One of my biggest disappointments of the last 10 years was going to Sam The Record Man, the legendary 5-story palace of vinyl and polycarbonate on Yonge St. in Toronto, and finding it empty and shuttered for good. :~(
  10:17pm
Holly in NC:

I thought you said *Laibach*.
Anyway, The Paperhead is certainly an EFD worth band.. OMG - you DO know when I get home. Scary !!! Yay!!!!!!!
  10:17pm
Stevel:

We are not worthy! Thanks!
  10:17pm
Joe D:

you know there are people in CALIFORNIA who associate you with this song now, EFD
  10:19pm
E.L.:

YEEEEAH!
  10:20pm
efd:

If you all aren't worthy then I don't know who is!
  10:22pm
efd:

Doctor B, I've never been to Sam The Record Man, but it sounds like it would have been a place I'd spend all day in.

Hi Holly, E.L., Cheri, Quebecois, and everyone else!
  10:23pm
E.L.:

Thanks Canada.
  10:24pm
Holly in NC:

There are people in alternate universes who associate Evan with this song!

Y'know, for years I felt it was 'mine'., but EFC is a far, far better proselytizer than I . So, thank you again for sharing the awesomeness.
  10:24pm
efd:

I have to eat my salad now so the smell gets out of the studio before Noah gets here. Talk amongst yourselves.
  10:24pm
Amanda:

I go away for a couple of weeks and return to these all-new EFD playlist colors?!?!?!? I am not sure what to do with myself.

Nazz Nazz seems pretty good right now I have to say.

HI, E.L.!!!!!
  10:25pm
nathan lee shafer:

Got any Chilliwack?
  10:25pm
Holly in NC:

sardines?
  10:26pm
tony:

Now that's top shelf Canadian wax!
  10:32pm
E.L.:

Hey Amnazz!
  10:38pm
Holly in NC:

The Bellrays are criminally underappreciated
  10:41pm
Countach Jones:

more hook-laden Canadian jams than Paglaro's "Lovin' You Ain't Easy"—and you didn't play April Wine's Hot Chocolate cover!
  10:48pm
Joe D:

maple leaf unicode: U+1F341
  10:49pm
Holly in NC:

@ nathan lee shafer -

The Collectors!
  10:55pm
dave:

i await with bated breath the show which is just 3 hours alternating between "thirteen women" and "noisy song". that will be a great show.
  10:55pm
Stevel:

Excuse me sir. Do you have a license to rock this hard?
  10:56pm
nathan lee shafer:

@ Holly in NC

Love the Collectors! Good stuff, plus the first few Chilliwack records have parts that are quite a long way from the later AOR stuff (which I dig quite a bit anyway)
  10:56pm
efd:

dave, I like the way you think!
  10:57pm
Chuck B.:

Man, he is rockin like a hurricane!
  11:02pm
Adam in Portland:

Messthetics #108 really IS the gift that keeps on giving, init?!?!?!
  11:04pm
Holly in NC:

I agree with Adam - everything I've heard off #108 is great!
Evan, also really liked High Tension Wires & Paul Messis.
  11:13pm
Patrick:

killer tickets this week!!
  11:19pm
JMD:

lemme guess. Devastator?
  11:20pm
efd:

dingdingdingding!
  11:20pm
Doctor B.:

The guy who puts out the Messthetics series is performing a public service!
  11:21pm
Sean Daily:

I think what the artist is trying to convey - and it's very subtle, many people won't pick up on it - is devastator.
  11:21pm
efd:

Nathan, "Fly At Night" by Chilliwack has been a fave of mine since it came out. Still have the single on the Mushroom label.

Holly, agreed re Bellrays. And no, no sardines; just a regular Panera Bread salad. I think Noah's got super vinegar sensitivity.
  11:22pm
efd:

Also, I'm naming my new band Super Vinegar Sensitivity.
  11:22pm
Countach Jones:

I'm going to be seriously upset if this song is called Devastator
  11:23pm
Kat:

Seriously upset? I'll be DEVASTATED!
  11:23pm
JMD:

at first I liked it a lot. Then a little less. Then I got bored. Then it bothered me. Then I kinda came around to it. Then I really loved it again. Now it's gone. Goddammit!
  11:24pm
Holly in NC:

May I be Super Vinegar Sensitivity's first fan?

And I do empathize with Noan - if I get within 3 feet of cheap "balsamic" my gut contracts in a most unpleasant manner
  11:24pm
JMD:

thank you, Kat. Devastated.
  11:26pm
Holly in NC:

Empty Trash Bag, yes.
  11:27pm
peppiepepito:

ayah!
  11:28pm
Holly in NC:

new White Hills is seriously GREAT
  11:30pm
Kat:

Finally saw WH live - so good.
  11:30pm
efd:

Oh yes, Holly.
  11:31pm
Danne D:

Hey Everyone!

Hi Funkwuar!
  11:31pm
Danne D:

I like the font. Please keep the font, efd.
  11:31pm
efd:

Countach Jones, which Hot Chocolate song does April Wine cover again? Emma? That might hit a little too close to home for me, Hot Chocolate fan that I am.

I did pick up a couple of Pagliaro singles too, just btw.
  11:32pm
Adam in Portland:

@Holly;@EFD: sure loving what I'm hearing.
  11:32pm
Adam in Portland:

Heya, Danne D!
  11:34pm
Adam in Portland:

Saw Kid Congo in this incarnation last weekend. My hands are still charred from hand-clapping so hard! :-)
  11:34pm
Holly in NC:

And a segue into Kid Congo (melt....) ??!!!
  11:35pm
Countach Jones:

They did "Could have been a Lady"
  11:36pm
efd:

huh... OK, my curiosity is piqued, I'll have to track that down.
  11:36pm
Danne D:

Heya Adam! Hey big list of folks :)
  11:37pm
Danne D:

This show goes good with maple syrup
  11:37pm
Countach Jones:

don't go further than YouTube
  11:37pm
efd:

Danne (and everyone) - what font are you seeing? That is, does it look unusual? I specified a font but I don't know how common it is on people's computers. It's not showing up on the FMU computer, for example.
  11:38pm
G:

It's a serif font here, FWIW
  11:40pm
Holly in NC:

Pharaoh Overlord, on an EP entitled "The Battle of the Axehammer" does a song called "Mystery Shopper". Fingers hovering..should I dl? Odds on goodness?
Serif font here also (but not in chat box)
  11:40pm
Danne D:

Whatever font it is, keep specifying it, please.
  11:41pm
G:

Right, Holly -- sans serif in the message box, but then serif in the playlist and posted comments....
  11:42pm
Danne D:

Btw, I'm proud to say I snaked Aharon out of a EFDHHDYDTYFBBL pickup by getting Brandon Beachy today. It's the small victories, since there's no way I'm ever catching Trader Aharon
  11:43pm
Countach Jones:

Holly in NC: Mystery Shopper is pretty sedate compared to Devastator and is closer to Can than Judas Priest
  11:43pm
Kat:

It's all sans-serif on my crappy work computer. It's nice though.
  11:44pm
Aharon:

Oh man. I look at the message board one time and this is what I get?

  11:47pm
Aharon:

Sean: YES!!!!

Danne D: I look forward to your extortionate demands.

EFD: See Sean, above.
  11:47pm
efd:

The primary font I specified is Rockwell, which you may recognize from AMC's on-air graphics or the NYT Magazine. Any sans-serif font is definitely a fallback. Interesting that the comments frame isn't picking that up, though.

Hey Pharaoh Overlord, we pay royalties by the song, not by the word count.

@ASCAP: WHUT?!?!?! Now you tell us!
  11:50pm
ASCAP:

Sorry, doodz.
  11:51pm
Aesop Rock:

I'm spittin' as fast as I can.
  11:52pm
Danne D:

Rockwell shows up 8 times in the FMU archives. All but one being the song that you'd figure woulda been the Rockwell song that would've been played. http://wfmu.org/artistbrowser.php?action=artist&artist=Rockwell&artist_id=47073
  11:52pm
Danne D:

Not sure if we fit, tradewise, Sir Aharon. We always seem to be chasing the same players.
  11:53pm
Adam in Portland:

I'm pro-trade union.
  11:54pm
ASCAP:

Is this genre called Onnanism?
  11:55pm
Danne D:

I'm pro Adam in Portland.

Anyhow, I have to pack up :( But thanks for a great show, Evan. I've listened to a lot more of it that I've made comments for. Glad to hear that song about a certain number of females of course.

Take care everyone :)
  11:56pm
Aharon:

I know, Danne! That's why it'll be extra-poignant when Applewhite smashes into us both and destroys life as we know it.
  11:57pm
Adam in Portland:

Awww, thank you kindly, Danne D. Best to youse! Brilliant show tonight, EFD!! The three hours melted away. Love you all.
  11:57pm
Aharon:

Good night, Danne, and all bitsreamers, fontish and otherwise.
  11:58pm
Holly in NC:

@ASCAP - you are making me snort wine out of my nose, not pretty!
  11:58pm
Adam in Portland:

I've yet to bitsream, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought of it before.
  12:01am
Adam in Portland:

Rated GG.
  12:01am
ASCAP:

I bet it actually is pretty, particularly if those present to witness are suitably wine-lubricated. My gf is currently through an entire bottle of white, and threatening ravishment after a particular tv show ends presently.
  12:03am
Booch:

Thee Parkside is in San Francisco. Go EFD!!
