@DCE,Tom: July 5 is not so hot, but the actual 4th was even worse for me--3 days into a long weekend, I was just de-toxing and digesting the massive food and beverage and late nights. I hate long weekends like that, you're tapped out by the time the actual holiday rolls around!

Matt: I did!!! Such a warm guy. If I engaged in tweeting I would have known he was here for a Wild Flag video shoot and got involved/loaned him my copy of Get in the Van. Ha! As it was I was walking the downtown streets with my friend Shalene while we sought out coffee before an Ivan Neville show. We saw a small group of people approaching us and as they passed I noticed a familiar looking character looking at me a bit sideways (at that moment it had long slipped my mind that I had thrown on my WFMU flag to wear for the day.) I, of course, had widened eyes as well, as I then realized I was sharing a moment in time with an as yet unmet familiar. Haha. He reached out his hand, introduced himself, complimented me on my choice of shirt, introduced my to the highly estimable Hatch and Puloma, and showed off some Wild Flag video props. I had many questions, but maintain a fairly unassuming demeanor around anyone but close friends, so I told them I was glad they were enjoying our fair city, and bade them continued great times as we parted, and Shalene and I made our coffee run before throwing ourselves into a weird pit of our AARP seniors at Ivan's Marriott Hotel ballroom (?????) show. Very, very pleasurable to make the acquaintance of some beloved WFMU principles.

Right, but style matters. Johnny Ramone ran a tight ship. There were no pauses, no breaks, ever in their performances. I didn't mean they sounded like the Ramones, I just meant it's a good idea to just play, but if somebodey has to tune up cause they only have one guitar, for god's sake vocalist, speak.
