Handsome Harry:

Hey-OOOOOOOOO Minotaurs!!
  3:09pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Hiiiiiii there!
  3:11pm
DJ KG:

H i Harry!

Welcome back, Kitty!
  3:11pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Its Fats the father of Dave?
  3:12pm
hubba:

Kurt, how the heck is it going!?
How come there is not a mini-minotaur action figure collection... like a whole array, differentiated by characteristics so that they can have play sets and so on and so forth... cable progamming tie-ins, the works... why did this never take-off? It is not too late... can we all work on this?
  3:12pm
DJ KG:

i think they used to be married.
  3:12pm
Marmalade Kitty:

..at least he died with a big smile on his face! great animation MJeff!
  3:12pm
DJ KG:

hubba: not too late! i will display any photos of miniature minotaur action figures on the playlists!
  3:13pm
Handsome Harry:

HHahahaaa. Navarro.

Another killer animated .gif there in every sense of the word.
  3:14pm
Robert:

I'd've guessed Sweet Summer Suite to have been older than that. WPIX-TV used to use it, and I guess it was new at the time, but i'd've guessed it to have been from the 1950s or 1960s, maybe even 1940s. Maybe just that recording was from 1976.
  3:15pm
hubba:

so, they exist?
  3:16pm
northguineahills:

This is one of my favorite Ground Zero albums!
  3:17pm
still b/p:

So spare, so lonely and wistful, that version of Those Were the Days.
  3:19pm
DJ KG:

robert, i just checked discogs.com and they don't show anything before 1976,

hubba, if you make them, they'll exist.
  3:20pm
hubba:

I'm picturing everyone doing their best Edith Bunker-morphing-to-Axel Rose impersonations... right... about... now!
  3:21pm
Marmalade Kitty:

the kettle has boiled!!
  3:27pm
hubba:

someone keeps rolling a 6 ton aluminum foil ball up and down the hallway... "knock it off you guys!"

Surprisingly, they stopped... oh, wait... the ball has seemingly crushed this older gentleman... and I got yelled for spinning in my chair... "way to pick and choose your battles" (voice loudly projected so management hears)
  3:29pm
Robert:

Thanks for the info. Listening and reading are nice things to be able to do while trying to get a Skype biz cf. going during Internet trouble in Panama. I haven't seen a dollar yet, yet I've been doing all this work.
  3:29pm
Marmalade Kitty:

I want to see Minature Minatours on the playlist :) !!! yay!!!
  3:30pm
hubba:

Has anyone actually made action figures? I'm looking for instructions right now.
  3:30pm
Robert:

Something I've got to remember is that once a style of music is established, pieces in that style can be created forever after.
  3:38pm
hubba:

use a hair dryer to alter pre-existing action figures, and then use Plastic Fusion or epoxy glue with some model paint... I guess I'd start with the beast from Beauty and the Beast and find some plastic bull heads... these minotaur will be like the Disney Gummi Bears, like a group of lone survivors whence minotaurs once resided over a pristene natrual setting, living a utpoian dream, and then, one day, all that was crushed by...
  3:38pm
Marmalade Kitty:

mans earliest music was never recorded for playback.. If we summon our ancient musical mind we can recreate caveman genres :)
  3:39pm
DJ KG:

oh my god i want you to do this SO BAD!
  3:39pm
hamburger / london:

howdy - I've just woken up after a nap - so rock 'n' roll eh.. um. hubba, no, but there are vinyl figure tutorials I've seen like this for examples: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=84425
  3:40pm
hubba:

I see there are Chronciles of Narnia, generic action figures, and Hercules... but not a clan of likable and cuddley mini-minotaurs... they have to be mini, that is the key!
  3:42pm
Marmalade Kitty:

wish i could go..! :(
  3:42pm
le screech:

i want to listen to a record as it's melting!
  3:46pm
hubba:

@hamburger: I will have to check it out when I get home... restricted site here at work, but thank you... I'm interested in making this set now... I'm sure my interest will fade the minute I get home and start killing brian cells...
  3:49pm
hubba:

cytology research shows we all have a few "Brian cells"... ever wonder why folks named Brain feel so close to you? They are a part of you... man.
  3:52pm
DJ KG:

le screech - i head about a dj once in ... ohio, maybe ... who made records out of ice and played summer parties. he'd keep the records in a cooler and play one until it melted too much and then pull another one out.
  3:53pm
hamburger / london:

I could so see miniature minotaurs figures dotted around the streets of the world ready for battle
  3:54pm
Handsome Harry:

I have just created a Miniature Minotaur action-figure. However, this action-figure is not quite up to par with those that I possessed in my youth. For instance, the "action" is severely limited on this model. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

http://i.imgur.com/s47ox.jpg
  3:54pm
DJ KG:

who wants to make miniature minotaur action figures for a marathon prize?
  3:55pm
le screech:

that is an incredible idea
  3:55pm
DJ KG:

hahahahaha handsome harry! i love that.
  3:56pm
hamburger / london:

me! although, the 'action' part would be tricky.. no idea how to go about miniature minotaur headbutt motions n all..
  3:57pm
DJ KG:

oooh! a miniature minotaur and a miniature matador!
  3:59pm
hamburger / london:

if a miniature minotaur was an action figure, what would be it's 'power move'?
  4:00pm
hubba:

There would be just one character that would be kinda-like a projectile figure, so it would have, like, a spring-loaded trigger thing... it would be kinda short and squatty like the character from He-Man: Ram Man... the always under appreciated small-time hero who springs into action when the (Minotaur-) chips are down.
  4:01pm
still b/p:

Dashing through the li'l labyrinth!
  4:01pm
DJ KG:

maybe he could just take a dump when you pull the lever.
  4:02pm
hubba:

http://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure.php?FID=7997&figure=ramman
  4:03pm
hubba:

That is another character... I have this rubber moose key chain from Alaska... when you squeeze it this oozy blubber-type stuff pops out and piles up... let go, and it gets sucked back into it's rubber bowels
  4:04pm
still b/p:

He could be Ferdinand the Minotaur, who just wants to smell the flowers.
  4:04pm
Cecile:

My husband also swears by a warm lightbulb for modifying action figures.

DJKG - I will have to send pix of Minotaurs in the real world. One's from my iPod game Eternity Warriors (free fake D&D game with lotsa killing) and the other is....from the Lego store in the Mall of America! There's a 6-foot tall Minotaur menacing a little Greek warrior. It is amazing.
  4:04pm
Handsome Harry:

I would pay money for a pooping one.
  4:04pm
Cecile:

MN Jeff, awesome graphic! You've outdone yourself!
  4:05pm
hubba:

I did find some of those RPG figures... kinda cute... but no action... these things have got to be action oriented... I'm think about 3.5 inches... just movable arms and swivel waist... the characters defiend by their action will do only that... project or poop thus far...
  4:05pm
hamburger / london:

a mini-minotaur that just lived to chomp on the shrooms that grew out of it's poop..
  4:06pm
Cecile:

Holy coprophagia, Batman.
  4:07pm

That osudns liek the life... you subsist off one anothers BM biproducts... World peace is possible!

Never heard of ice records til I saw a video of one in an exhibition a couple of weeks ago. The mind needs to take a little jump when introduced to the concept. I would eat a flavored ice record today.

a mini-minotaur with a radioactive snort for vapourizing foe

wow MK, that site is like ultimate burger kitsch!
  4:22pm
Cecile:

I don't know if he can do it, but if my husband could kluge together a 1" heroclix Minotaur out of old parts, would you be interested? It won't poop or anything.
  4:23pm
Carmichael:

KG DJ and everyone. Friday afternoon, before weeks and weeks of leave. Too many things to get done!
  4:25pm
DJ KG:

handsome, that poncho graphic is great.

cecile, of course!

this might be my favorite minotaur ever:

DJ KG:

hello, carmichael!
  4:30pm
other david:

evening folks!

love this pelican track
  4:30pm
Carmichael:

Likin' this Pelican. It started out rippin', and now they've mellowed out completely. Great effect.
  4:32pm
still b/p:

The boss put a thermometer in the driveway in the sun and it says 119 degrees...so far.
  4:34pm
Cecile:

My husband says that if you want one before 2013, I'd better just order one from a D&D website. They do have a nice selection of them - even skeleton Minotaurs!
  4:39pm
Handsome Harry:

That is a superior minotaur, Kurt. I think I'm going to have to do something with that one.
  4:42pm
Cecile:

You could play Kris Kristofferson's "Best of All Possible Worlds". It's the country version of Candide.
  4:44pm
Handsome Harry:

Reading "The Singularity Is Near" by Ray Kurzweil.

He believes that if he can hang onto life for a few more years he will be able to life FOREVER. I'm no trans-humanist myself, but it is a pretty good read.
  4:45pm
DJ KG:

cecile, interesting! that was kk's intention?
  4:46pm
still b/p:

Make a medium-sized minotaur, then give it to someone doing ocean research. For the dramatic-illustration hell of it, they send styrofoam cups -- one of their favorite prospects -- and other interesting odds and ends down with research gear to be shrink-crushed by deep-sea pressure.

Oh, yes. He was a Rhodes scholar. It's great.
  4:52pm
DJ KG:

mn gif: sports desk welcome!

cecile: yeah, i love kk! didn't know about his take on candide, tho.
  4:53pm
Cecile:

the phrase "best of all possible worlds" is the main theme of Candide. Basically, KK tells the tale of a very drunk man sitting in a holding cell. Having the time of his life.
  4:59pm
Handsome Harry:

That KK track is fantastic.
  5:02pm
Steve O.:

Reading: "2666," by (the late) Roberto Bolano. No idea what the title means yet. So far, the story revolves around a quartet of academics dedicated to a mysterious, reclusive German novelist who hasn't been seen in nearly 50 years. Hope it keeps up the quality over the remaining 800 pages.

  5:11pm
