Hi Irene. fellow listeners,
How was Newport? You had some great close-ups of the stages. Wish I coulda been there. Watched on-line all day, yesterday. Looked like a perfect day..

  1:31pm
still b/p:

Didn't' realize that How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away dates back to '69. That song and I Scare Myself were my intro to DH and His Hot Licks in the mid 70s when they got a good amount of play on an FM station.
  1:39pm
Van:

From the all-knowing Wiki: "The three members of the group are Molly Erin Sarle, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Amelia Randall Meath"
  1:40pm
Peter K.:

Well, you ARE crazy. That's one of the many reasons I love you. P.S.: Mountain Man is Molly Erin Sarle, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Amelia Randall Meath.
  1:44pm
Van:

That was interesting, thanks Irene. I see the Roches comparison...and that album's sound was pretty good for having been recorded in an abandoned factory
  1:44pm
Irene:

Thanks for the info Peter! You're my Wealth of Information and Love always!
  1:46pm
Peter K.:

Yeah, but listener Van beat me to it!
  1:47pm
Van:

lol, it was more of a dead heat in the copy/paste-from-wiki contest ;)
  1:51pm
Peter K.:

Actually, I cut and pasted from the group's own site. And I needed extra time to tell Irene that I love her, even though I think she already knew.
  1:57pm
Van:

Ah right Peter K! I clicked through to their website and saw that Mountain Man just ended a US tour yesterday I guess!
  1:59pm
Peter K.:

Yup, they said from the stage that Newport was the last stop on their tour. But I have no doubt they'll be on the road again, many times.
  2:01pm
Irene:

You can be sure that if they were available to perform on this program I would jump at the chance. They were sublime!
  2:03pm
Looms:

O Brothers, what a nice movie!
  2:04pm
Van:

Well, one thing I love about WFMU as a newbie listener is being introduced to so many artists I never knew about and really like! This is a constant occurrence on nearly every show I drop in on :)

  2:32pm

  2:34pm
other david:

  2:40pm
Marmalade kitty:

I fell over once as a child, thinking i had cut my arm, I burst into tears! My mum picked me up and wiped what seemed to be blood off my arm, but it turned out to be tomato ketchup! I'd slipped and my arm had landed in ketchup on the ground :)
  2:43pm
fred:

kitty, that reminds me of when I once made a girl cry in kindergarten. we were all doing papercrafting and I peeled off that dried glue from her finger... she thought I was peeling off her skin and ran to the teacher.
  2:43pm
