  12:42am
Pen Pals International:

  1:10am
Julie:

My moral compass is merely pointing north.
  1:10am
Lived in UK:

Yo
  1:10am
Joe McG:

Yoo hoo!
  1:11am
other david:

She implied playing with the aforementioned Yo.. and furthermore, also Yo.
  1:11am
david:

AP Mike was talking about that... that because of things like Cee-Lo and HBO the FCC will eventually cave...
  1:12am
JT:

I love everything by The Unrelated Segments I've ever heard but it's only about 4 songs. Listen to the bass playing!!!

Julie:

Isn't light my fire Dum Dum's music too?
  1:14am
Julie:

I love the audio porno.
  1:15am
JT:

I'd go with 1966 for sure. Not because I know but because it sounds right.
  1:15am
T-Zero:

Story of my life was 67
  1:18am
cheri:

joe & julie i think ken should get rid of professor dum dum and replace him with the old codger, what are your thoughts on that subject???
  1:19am
other david:

  1:19am
Julie:

Lived in UK:

@o.d.: TOOOOOOOO FUNNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
  1:25am
Julie:

Peppier version of it Joe.
  1:26am
other david:

this, my friends, is just one reason why WFMU stomps all over pandora/spotify/whatever, the wonderfully random conversations... the backwards banjo music
  1:27am
Marmalade Kitty:

The Professor Dum Dum is always relevant
  1:28am
Julie:

I like the Professor. As long as he mops the blood off the floor and takes his upside down crosses with him when he leaves.
  1:29am
Brian in UK:

Earlyish (is that a proper word) greetings from sunny UK.
Back order premium arrived this week Joe. Thanks a million to all the folks involved getting STUFF sent out.
  1:29am
other david:

the blood, I can understand - but upside-down crosses I would have assumed them to be part of the DNOTS furniture? :P
  1:29am
Marmalade Kitty:

NiIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE..
  1:31am
Julie:

@OD upside down bats yes, upside down crosses no.
@Joe the Light my Fire that Dum Dum uses is much more like the Doors, fast and keyboardy
  1:32am
Marmalade Kitty:

if 6 was 9, is always relevant
  1:32am
david:

I like the Lettermen version of Light My Fire, too...
  1:32am
Julie:

@MK Dan Bodah imitated him saying that one night, it was perfect.
  1:32am
Julie:

Single file! Everybody clap!
  1:33am
other david:

*wobbles on to the dance floor*
  1:37am
other david:

Rock - Pill - Yo-yo
  1:37am
Joe McG:

Hey, Brian from the UK!
  1:44am
david:

So "Fuck You" is censored and "The Pill" isn't banned...
  1:44am
Julie:

For a band called Glitterhouse they are not terribly glam are they
  1:47am
Joe McG:

@Julie: No, too early for glam, but not too early for weird.
  1:47am
Brian in UK:

What's this turn you on? Sounds like it should be banned.
  1:51am
Marmalade Kitty:

I was watching part of a Jerry springer show this afternoon. While tolerating and encouraging fist fighting and battery of one another (as long as its a fair fight! ..and no one touches Jerry!), they courteously bleep four letter words..
  1:53am
Brian in UK:

Next pod to The Idle Race, climb aboard my roundabout
  1:54am
Brian in UK:

Whatever happened to all the Phasing machines?
  1:54am
Joe McG:

With my skeleton.
  1:56am
tomB:

props to CillaB for covering Tim Hardin, but The Recurring Love Habit was very BRAVE. (But not as brazen as Judas Priest's single of "Diamonds &Rust"--what were they thinking?
Meanwhile, I wish I could be like David Watts.
  1:57am
Julie:

We can't ALL be like David Watts. Such a pity.
  1:57am
Brian in UK:

On the ball, Joe.

This chorus is Let's Spend the Night Together.
  1:57am
Joe McG:

@tom: Judas Priest does a good Fleetwood Mac, too!
  1:58am
Marmalade Kitty:

boys wearing bouffant, is always brave exept for a period in 1967 when it was mandatory
  1:59am
Julie:

Joe would look good with a bouffant
  2:00am
Joe McG:

You mean on my head?
  2:00am
other david:

A bouffant and a Kevin Costner tattoo
  2:01am
Julie:

Yes you have the hair for it.
  2:01am
Julie:

I could not do that with my hair. It will always be Peggy Lipton stringy.
  2:04am
tomB:

Back to "Light My Fire", DumDum's version is annoyingly insipid, but works well for the show. However, this one that Joe has dug-up deserves credit.
@Joe--who are those people? The pianist is great and is lifting and extending a piano riff from Joanie Sommer's "Johnny Get Angry" c.'63. who who who?
  2:06am
T-Zero:

"Some guy" who sounds like Costello . . . lol Uhm. Wasn't The Imposter a pseudonym of his?
  2:06am
Marmalade Kitty:

Joe, why not play both sides?
  2:06am
Julie:

Barbarella gets attacked by dolls with sharp teeth and budgies!
  2:07am
Brian in UK:

Does Duran Duran come from Barbarella?
  2:07am
Julie:

T-zero yeah I believe it was.
  2:08am
Marmalade Kitty:

Or a montage of both A&B sides simultaneously?
  2:09am
T-Zero:

Ok. I wasn't sure if Joe was just yankin chains.
  2:10am
Julie:

@Brian yes
  2:10am
Julie:

@MK that's brilliant..get two of the same 45 and play A & B side on turntables at same time
  2:12am
Marmalade Kitty:

It could work, or not work? Nat Roe will tell you
  2:14am
Marmalade Kitty:

I would say you can't possibly fail
  2:16am
other david:

Goodnight lovely people, or to those on this side of the pond, good morning. 7:15, time to sleep ;(

Will catch rest of the show on the archives, cya's
  2:17am
Marmalade Kitty:

Fabio, might disagree..
  2:17am
Julie:

Strength through failure!
  2:17am
Joe McG:

Sleep well, O.D.!
  2:17am
Julie:

@MK great minds :)
  2:18am
T-Zero:

@JoeMc: Sorry, phased out. Did you mention McDaniel just died?
  2:18am
Marmalade Kitty:

Thats what I meant :)
Good night other david!
  2:19am
Julie:

One of the guys from America died too recently. Dan Peek.
  2:19am
Joe McG:

@T-Zero: Yeah, last week, sadly.
  2:20am
Julie:

I don't know him as a singer, but a songwriter
  2:21am
T-Zero:

@Joe MCG: Sorry. That must have been who you mentioned during the break when I was distracted.
  2:24am
T-Zero:

@Julie: I really on remember Spanish Lace
  2:24am
Marmalade Kitty:

McDaniels had a four octave singing range! waaawzer!!
  2:25am
MVL:

Hi all! Diggin' the Gene McDaniels set, Joe!
  2:26am
Joe McG:

Thanks, MVL! Thanks for stoppin' by!
  2:29am
Julie:

Hi MVL!
  2:31am
MVL:

Hello Ms. Julie!
  2:44am
tomB:

Glitterhouse is actually from Long Island. Organist/Moogist "Moogy" Klingman does an annual gig. When I saw him he had Stewkey from the Nazz in tow, so he could do the Nazz songs he'd learned as sythman in Todd Rundgren's early band. Of course it was the Nazz connection that brought me out, but the Glitterhouse story was the true subject of the evening.
  2:45am
Marmalade Kitty:

Hi Mike! Thanks for the good stuff Joe!
The land of nod beckons me once again!?!? :)
  2:47am
Brian in UK:

Did he sing Tower of Strength?
  2:48am
Julie:

@MK yes you too need sleep! g'night!
  2:49am
T-Zero:

@Brain in UK: McDaniels? Yes.
  2:50am
Marmalade Kitty:

  2:50am
Julie:

  2:51am
jeff-m:

Hi Joe, digging this Splits song a bunch
  2:52am
12539:

@Julie: http://tinyurl.com/3kllall

Thanks, Joe!

Zzz.
  2:53am
Joe McG:

Jeff! Glad you're diggin' it, howdy! G'night, Kitty.
  2:53am
Julie:

they sound really authentic.
  2:54am
Brian in UK:

Keep it coming, Joe. Sleep well everyone. Baking bread time. Byeee.
  2:55am
Brian in UK:

PS There's a comp for everything these days.
  11:27am
Joe McG:

Better late than never to tomB: My "Light My Fire" was Tony Hatch. The piano player was either one of the dudes from his stable of studio musos or Tony himself. There are many, many Tony Hatch muzak LPs out there to choose from, so happy hunting. This one is called "Brasilia Mission" from 1969.
