I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  1:15pm
bryce:

huh?
  1:15pm
Cecile:

Hey, quick weird question. is anyone here self-employed? I'm considering slowly easing into it over the next 5/6 years.
  1:15pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Bryce, who is totally awesome, was voted "most likely to edit the comment board" in high school
  1:15pm
Cecile:

No, #K, the seriously awesome DJ can erase your comment if you ask them politely.

@Cecile--I'm not self-employed yet, but the new edition of The Idler is devoted to that topic--"Mind Your Business"
  1:34pm
hubba:

Did you flip the record?
  1:35pm
bryce:

i did! GOIN FOR IT
  1:35pm
BSI:

well SOMETHING seems flipped.
  1:48pm
Cecile:

sounds good, seang.
  1:57pm
hubba:

I have a buddy who runs a financial blog and a record label... he's in the red right now, and has had to dip into savings, but he enjoys working from home, being able to tour, and the freedom to do things his way. He's married, and his wife's job is on the brink, so he can continue his operations from anywhere, with minimal pause for relocation. Ultimately, just having a solid overhead and not being inundated with unknown costs... keeping it simple unless you've got the bucks to invest in complexity.
  1:58pm
Looms:

Sounds good indeed! The piece reminded me of Francis Dhomont's works at first but the further it goes, the more peculiar it gets. Happy to be listening to it for the first time.
  2:04pm
hubba:

whoa...
  2:07pm
J. Fremont Money-Bags:

Cecile: Not self-employed, but pursuing the goal. It depends on what you mean. Are you talking about running an operation out of your home, such as a consulting practice or copy-writing? Or do you hope to run a bricks-and-mortar retail or service business out of a storefront? The former lends itself to "easing into it"; not so much the latter. Take a peak at a good how-to guide, such as this if you're in CA: http://www.nolo.com/products/the-small-business-start-up-kit-for-california-OPEN.html.
  2:09pm
Looms:

This was damn hypnotic!
  2:11pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

You Asked: who is bryce, really
ML: That's a good question, unfortunately that isn't currently in my knowledge base.
  2:11pm
Cecile:

I don't quite know yet, but thanks for the help J.Fremont, and
hubba. I'm in the exploratory phase right now. I'd like to start from my home, but who knows? My husband probably would prefer a store - he's more extraverted.
  2:12pm
hamburger:

couldya imagine walking into a record store and going "hey, I'm looking for that song which goes 'bloop tshhhh bililil, weep oh sik ow dat ai wabba tshhhhhhhh"
  2:17pm
nic:

cool cool cool
  2:17pm
hubba:

So, is this classifiable as "tone poem?" At least the last couple of pieces.
  2:18pm
Cecile:

is this a piece or is it a Bryce mic break?
  2:18pm
Ipse Dixit:

I am always punctual except when I skip punctuating
  2:18pm
bryce:

hahaaa :)
  2:21pm
Looms:

If not an alien, Bryce is a man and can't do several things at the same time (like "singing" and typing) so I assume this is a piece ;)

OK, I see now. I was just thinking that had the rink melted during the infamous King Arthur with ice skaters, Wakeman might have donned a diving helmet to save himself.
