  Wed. 10/5/11 12:28pm Cecile:

Long story made short - my babysitter was recording an album in China Basin studios (owned by a friend of the family) and her fabulousness had a session next door - she arrived in what i would wear today as a Mardi Gras outfit - gold lamé, embroidered pill-box hat, and a flowing robe-y type overcoat. Very interesting times.
  Wed. 10/5/11 12:58pm Cecile:

Great story! Wow, What a sight that must have been. You had me at "my babysitter was recording an album."
  Wed. 10/5/11 12:58pm james stacheroni:

  Wed. 10/5/11 1:04pm Cecile:

I love the faux-Chic like flow with the classical flourishes. Great stuff.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:04pm Cecile:

Yes, RIP Bert Jansch.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:05pm Cecile:

YES. From Baskets of Light, probably their best album
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:06pm Cecile:

  Wed. 10/5/11 1:31pm Cecile:

this sounds like a track from Ari Upp's never released samba album (there isn't one, I'm joking.)
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:42pm Cecile:

Tata Vega opened for everyone in the 70s. And was on the Midnight Special a lot. But she never really broke through.
Wed. 10/5/11 1:44pm Brian in UK:

She sang backing vocals on P F Sloans Raised on Records.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:44pm Parq:

Is anyone else having problems with the pop-up Flash player? It's crapped out three times in ten minutes on my puter, which is not usual for me.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:46pm Cecile:

She sang background for loads of people. Definitely a talented singer's singer.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:47pm KevinfromBayRidge:

@ Parq- no prob here.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:49pm Duane:

Duane: Tata Vega was one of Sylvester's singers I heard.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:52pm Cecile:

She might have been. After the Tons left him, he was going through a lot of backup singers.
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:55pm Cecile:

Or so his bio and Wiki tells me. :D
  Wed. 10/5/11 1:55pm Duane:
