  1:12am
Sue:

Jón Gnarr is his name?
  1:13am
Marmalade Kitty:

Halloween was always here in UK, but it's only recently that we have caught on to the PUMPKIN! :) When I was a child, late 70's early 80's, we used to use TURNIPS or swedes for lanterns! Carving pumpkin is as simple as de seeding a water mellon.. carving a turnip used to take hours..! solid turnip head! and the smell of burning candle wick and turnip.. oughh!
  1:17am
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Joe!
TransWORLD Singles Paradise tonight! Woohoo!
  1:18am
Marmalade Kitty:

Pumpkin grow in warmer climate, since advent of unlimited global import.. da-da!!
  1:18am

  1:20am
12539:

Zeitgeist?
  1:20am
Matt from Springfield:

MKitty! Hiya!
I can't wait till WE get to go back an hour! That hour was taken from us, and we will get it back! :)
  1:22am
Marmalade Kitty:

Pooh sticks! were stiff records?
  1:22am
Matt from Springfield:

"I Pooh"--that's funny, because there was a book called the "Tao of Pooh", explaining Taoism using (the original A.A. Milne) Winnie the Pooh characters. So maybe they want to explain the "I Ching" instead of the Tao Te Ching that way!
  1:24am
Matt from Springfield:

There was a band called The Pooh Sticks--"On Tape" is a song from 1988 on the CD86 comp.

Thanks Julie! I won that from you this marathon! :D
  1:26am
Marmalade Kitty:

tantalizingly close Joe..
  1:28am
Marmalade Kitty:

Yeaup!
  1:28am
Sue:

woo hoo!!
  1:29am
Marmalade Kitty:

sickest basssline!
  1:30am
Matt from Springfield:

Bass and that steel drum! A familiar, yet still quite different Talking Heads sound.
  1:31am
Marmalade Kitty:

..sickest basssline continued!
  1:31am
Matt from Springfield:

Hey, Anemic Boyfriends, us guys are not proud--because don't cha know that Pride Comes Before A Fall? :)
  1:33am
Matt from Springfield:

@MKitty: The last couple songs are making it so I don't need to turn my woofer up!
  1:33am
Marmalade Kitty:

HAHAAh..
  1:35am
Joe McG:

Woof! Woof!
  1:36am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: Wow, you have no idea when that Orhan Sener 45 came out? It's got to be 1948 or after, but not even a decade to guess, is it that much of a mystery?
  1:36am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: Also nice (synth)bass on this one!
  1:36am
Marmalade Kitty:

Matt! check out Bill Macs show PSA little red riding hood part 1/2
  1:37am
Joe McG:

@Matt: I think it's around 1966 or so, but it's hard to tell. I can't find a listing on it anywhere.
  1:38am
Marmalade Kitty:

B Mac 29th oct..
  1:38am
Colin Newman:

Awright, S Teens - it's snowing, McGask is playing me - who gonna pledge 15 bux and bring him home to 100%??
  1:39am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: Thanks, I saw the question mark and wondered if Orhan was that more mind-boggling!
@MKitty: Thanks, I was just about to ask when!...I see it's at the beginning, I'll check that out!
  1:39am
Marmalade Kitty:

I hope it never stops snowing! so peaceful
  1:41am
Marmalade Kitty:

New Years Day U2 vid.. so peaceful :) I think the vid turned me on to U*2 as a kid
  1:44am
Marmalade Kitty:

  1:46am
Sue:

  1:46am
Colin Newman:

  1:47am
Matt from Springfield:

Because Joe always gives 100%! Congrats!
  1:48am
Joe McG:

Thanks, everybody, I really appreciate your support!
  1:48am
Matt from Springfield:

New Wave Gene Pitney cover! This is what I'm talking about!
  1:56am
Matt from Springfield:

I actually like this version better than the original.
  1:57am
Joe McG:

Full fake Wall o' Sound in effect!
  1:58am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: You do gotta hand it to Phil Spector...nowadays you can get a whole "fake" Wall o' Sound with the push of a button!
  1:59am
blujacket:

yeah baby!
  1:59am
Matt from Springfield:

All right, not only the "most abrasive single of 1969", but the B-SIDE of it! ("Cold Turkey" b/w "Don't Worry Kyoko" actually could be the most abrasive mainstream 45 of all time!)
  2:00am
Joe McG:

Sounds like a throwdown, Matt! Can you think of any others?
  2:01am
Matt from Springfield:

After listener pierre was mentioning the "waves" on a set, New Wave, Dark Wave, Cold Wave, I told him to check out Yoko's "Don't Count The Waves" :) I don't know if that was on a single though!
  2:02am
Marmalade Kitty:

The whales an dolphins are diggin, they KNOW whatch mean Yoko love!
  2:02am
maximilian:

ohohohobobiiiiteerhghhhheeeeeehheererhhheeee
  2:04am
Marmalade Kitty:

  2:06am
Marmalade Kitty:

any Band of Gypsies, Joe?
  2:07am
Matt from Springfield:

Record exec: "Hey, you hear of these Mamas and the Papas? They're becoming huge! I just heard their song "12:30 (Young Girls Are Coming To The Canyon)". You need to put out something like them!"
  2:09am
Matt from Springfield:

Nice! I'm jumpin' on Jango's Carousel.
  2:11am
Joe McG:

@Kitty: I'm failing you this evening, I don't have anything you've requested....
  2:13am
Marmalade Kitty:

all good,Joe :)
  2:17am
Marmalade Kitty:

100%!
  2:17am
Joe McG:

:)
  2:21am
Marmalade Kitty:

your digits are safe :) I hear DJ's who dion't meet the quoter are subject to having fingers cut off..! a bit harsh but I understand.. :)
  2:23am
Joe McG:

Actually, it's not the fingers.
  2:24am
Matt from Springfield:

@MKitty: At least Joe will have three digits left! Better than those blokes who only earned two digits! :)
  2:25am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, another Colin Blunstone solo single! Are these yours, or the station's?
  2:26am
Joe McG:

Mine, all mine!
  2:27am
Marmalade Kitty:

Any Hendrix? You know Foxey Lady must have blown the socks offa everybody in the 60's
  2:29am
Matt from Springfield:

Glad someone's playing them! And late 60s Chiffons--excellent!

@MKitty: Jimi had well known albums (Are You Experienced?, Electric Ladyland..) really not sure if he had any singles, or at least high charting singles.
  2:29am
Joe McG:

Only one I have is the one you can't play on the radio, "Gloria." He says bad words.
  2:30am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh Jimi, Oh Patti, why does anyone who covers "Gloria" have to add bad words to it? :)
  2:32am
Marmalade Kitty:

FUCK..!
  2:32am
Matt from Springfield:

Hey, I heard this somewhere before! This is good!
Now Joe, can you properly tell apart: Barbara George, Barbara Lewis, Barbara Lynn, and Barbara Mason? :)
  2:33am
Matt from Springfield:

You and WFMU could help write a "60s DJ SAT"; takers would have to match songs by all those Barbaras, all the Bobbys, short answer responses for the bands that did certain One Hit Wonder titles... ;)
  2:37am
Marmalade Kitty:

Snow in autumn - Dry spring..?
  2:39am
Marmalade Kitty:

John Lennon would be well chuffed/proud with the guys giving it large at the occupy demos..!
  2:41am
Matt from Springfield:

@MKitty: Oh man, I miss him! He would be writing and performing songs especially for Occupy demos were he still around!
  2:44am
Joe McG:

I bet you he would!
  2:44am
Marmalade Kitty:

I believe john would say spirit is mosty important!!!!!!
  2:45am
Matt from Springfield:

I'm glad David Peel seems to be doing a song for OWS though, have to check out these links later...

Why hasn't Clay Pigeon found him? He interviewed him at Union Square's "4/20 Pot Day" a few years ago, I wish he had ended up in one of Clay's recent programs!
  2:45am
Marmalade Kitty:

give us a Lennon 7" Joe?
  2:47am
bk:

And Stiff discovered Akron Ohio.
  2:48am
Marmalade Kitty:

Clays interview programmes are invaluable historical source! to otherwise rely on media reports would be very sad
  2:49am
Matt from Springfield:

You got "Stand By Me"! And couple of Stiff Records 45s too!

I've got Clay's programs saved as podcasts, I recognize their historical importance--and will refer them to anyone as a "primary source" to look at. :)
  2:53am
Matt from Springfield:

Hey, The Pink Fairies!
  2:55am
Marmalade Kitty:

YAY FOR CLAY! YAAY!
  2:56am
Marmalade Kitty:

GO JOE!
  2:57am
Matt from Springfield:

Jona Lewie?! I didn't know you were allowed to play him in the States! ;)
  2:57am
Joe McG:

Ha ha ha!
  3:00am
Matt from Springfield:

  8:38am
