Geez, I first heard the 'Tators doing "Cars 'n' Girls", what, three and a half decades ago? Talk about an enduring classic; this has become as iconic as the Chairman's "One for the Road".

NYC, while this was thie first recorded version, the co-writer, JJ Barnes, beat his writing partner Melvin to the punch with his version. So this remained unreleased until 2010 on this comp!

Rusty, that's such a cool story. Someone should write a book, or at least a lengthy magazine article, about WFMU love stories. The Bronwyn-Sluggo story alone ought to be worth the treatment.

"Mad" Mike was in the Fuzztones when Rudi moved shop to California in the late '80s. IIRC, Mad Mike is on the "In Heat" album produced by Shel Talmy.
