Listener comments!

  6:09am
Lisa:

Look at your phone
  6:09am
fred:

Good morning Keili and Lisa!
  6:11am
Lisa:

LOOK AT YOUR PHONE PLEASE!
  6:13am
Danne D:

1) yay :)
2) make sure you wish everyone's favorite stormtrooper a happy birthday, everyone )
3) Hiya Keili and Fred and Lisa :D
4) um. you should look at your phone apparently :)
  6:16am
fred:

Hey Danne! You're amazingly awake at this early hour, your memory even works
  6:17am
Caryn:

Hello all! Home sick, but now Keili is on and I have a pizza coming, so things are looking up.
  6:18am
Elwyn:

Hey Everyone!

I'm not sure if I'll stay the whole show. I'm feeling kind of content (emotionally) but physically messed up from having low blood glucose levels.

@Danne D: You're very kind.

@Fred: Hey! Good to see you!
  6:19am
Bob in Florida (temporarily):

Yo Keili! Yo DJ Mama! Great rocking start to this turkey leftovers Sunday!
  6:19am
fred:

Good afternoon Caryn! I heard you finally met the other fred
  6:21am
Bob in Florida (temporarily):

I just got naked-scanned by the TSA. Was that the right thing to do? Should I have fought the power instead?
  6:21am
fred:

Happy birthday Elwyn! Is that actually today?
  6:23am
Elwyn:

@fred: It was Wednesday. Heh. I saw Star Wars Burlesque. Half-way through the show, a derby friend asked me via text message if I wanted to go the next night because a friend of hers was really sick. So the next night, I went again but it was the dining table option and two of the performers grabbed my face. :-)
  6:24am
Caryn:

@fred: yep, one fred down, one to go
@Bob: that depends... did you like it?
@Elwyn: Happy (late) birthday!
  6:26am
fred:

@Bob: your local TSA bully isn't the power, you'd have missed your flight and made no difference. You have to find the power before you can really fight it.
  6:27am
Elwyn:

@Keili: I think this is the first time I've ever heard "Jet Boy Jet Girl" in English. I have a cover by Sonic Youth in French "Ca Plane Pour Moi"

@caryn: Thanks, sweetie!
  6:28am
Bob in Florida (temporarily):

Good points, everybody. Anyway, now I'm listening while actually on the plane.* Is this a BTAWK first? (*No, the plane hasn't taken off yet. We're still boarding.)
  6:31am
Elwyn:

@Bob: You beat me. I was listening to Meghan fill-in but only up until 10 min before boarding the plane.
  6:32am
Joe McG:

GOODMORNINGINGINGIGNIGNIGNIGNGIN
Happy Thanksgiving!
Get ready for some thanksgiving beast!
  6:32am
fred:

@Elwyn: I think "ça plane pour moi" was the original, and "jet boy jet girl" was a rare cover of a Belgian song in English.
  6:35am
fred:

@Caryn: You've met the cooler fred, that should count for something. Is Tampere far from were you are? There's an faint chance I might get there in the future.
  6:38am
Caryn:

@well, it's about 3-4 hours by train. So you're thinking of possibly coming to the Manchester of Finland? Well, it is our rock capital. My mom used to work there as a rock journalist in the late 60s/early 70s.
  6:38am
Elwyn:

I forgot to say "Happy thanksgiving everyone!"
  6:38am
Lucas:

Hello guys!
  6:39am
Caryn:

So, Keili, is your spirit soaring like the leopard/ocelot you are?
  6:41am
Lucas:

Hi Keili, Lisa, Fred, Danne D, Caryn, Elwyn, Bob from Florida, Joe McG! Happy thanks giving to you!
  6:42am
fred:

Necronomicon has a thanksgiving theme? Though when it comes to deeper understanding, Abdul Alhazred had a Deep One.
  6:45am
fred:

Hi Lucas! See you at the High Places gig. Are you working that day? If so we could go there together.
  6:48am
Lucas:

@Fred: Is my free day but I can pass by and pick you up.
  6:49am
fred:

@Caryn: Well, there's a big college in Tampere, at least when it comes to music. Being about the only one at work who thinks the climate there is great, I might manage to get sent there for work. Probably not though, the prospect of getting a postdoc job there may outweigh the climate dislike.
  6:52am
!!!!!!:

AWWWWWWW YEAH SLEIGH BELLS!
  6:52am
Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Keili and all the listeners.
  6:52am
DJ Keili:

wow i just noticed that i posted as Joe McGasko. whoops.
HIIIII IM A HAPPY OCELOT
  6:54am
!!!!!!:

Your new nickname is now Joe McGasko, I don't care how awkward it is to say.
  6:57am
fred:

@Caryn: Funny that K played Crocodiles: I started a joke at work that Anssi Klapuri was the one in the croc suit on the Ovelin page: http://www.ovelin.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/6106341_orig.jpg
  7:02am
fred:

@Lucas: We'll just meet at the venue, unless it's already a stop on your way there
  7:06am
Caryn:

@fred: hah!
@Keili: who's the happy ocelot? Yes you are, yes you are! *scratching Keili's belly while talking baby talk*
  7:07am
Dave B:

Greetings!
  7:08am
Lucas:

@fred: Ok. We meet there. It's easier :)
  7:09am
Elwyn:

@Evil Brady: We meet online... again! No more Rush pictures. I have no eye bleech left.
  7:10am
fred:

Good morning Evil Brady!
  7:13am
fred:

@Elwyn; Rush pictures should be saved for Meghan's show. We all know she's a closet Rush fan who needs help with her coming out
  7:14am
Lucas:

Snake tongue wa!!!
  7:14am
Dave B:

Alas - there will be none! Although I did get/give Meghan her RASH shirt a little early
  7:15am
Lisa:

Hey Yo! Good morning!
  7:17am
fred:

Good morning Lisa!
  7:19am
Elwyn:

@Keili: You have managed to find the most disturbing GIFs on the Internerd.
  7:20am
fred:

@Elwyn: Ken would be hurt
  7:24am
Lisa:

Look how Britney is dancing in time to Knyfe Hyts!
  7:26am
fred:

I want to see Knyfe Hyts! Not gonna happen though, so I'll settle for that long awayted KH² event.
  7:30am
Lucas:

Lisa: Last week B. Spears was in bogota, and newspapers said that it was great
  7:31am
Lucas:

Hey, this ubuntu player is causing me troubles!
Keili: Hey Keili, talk normal is great. You made me discover!
  7:32am
Lisa:

Por supuesto.
  7:32am
Elwyn:

@fred: Do you think that girl with the split tongue is real or faked?
  7:33am
Lucas:

@Keili: thank you :)!!!
  7:34am
Lisa:

I think it's real. She probably had it split. you can do that.
  7:35am
fred:

@Elwyn: I think it's real, then again I'm the gullible type
  7:38am
Dave B:

@Elwyn - tongue bifurcation
  7:42am
Elwyn:

@Lisa: I'm sure you could do it at home and a bit of local anaesthetic.

But would she even be able to speak properly ever again? Certainly not without a year of retraining...
  7:46am
Dave B:

her thpeech would be thlightly impaired. But man, she would clean up at the soba noodle restaurants!
  7:55am
fred:

@Dave B: I would certainly kiss her. Without the tongue alteration, not so much.
  7:55am
Caryn:

I know a guy with a split tongue. Then again, he also has metal horns implanted in his head and an assortment of other body modifications. Only the slightest bit of a lisp though.
  7:56am
Lisa:

I will not ask the obvious question. I will not ask the obvious question. I will not ask the obvious question...
  7:57am
Elwyn:

@Caryn: I watched the documentary "Trekkies" and there was a woman who went to South America to get the plastic surgery she needed to look like a Klingon. It made me feel more normal.

@DJ Mama: Go on and ask it.
  7:57am
fred:

Does that means you have to be a K to make it to this show?
  7:58am
DJ Mama:

I don't know what you're talking about, Elwyn... Lisa posted that.
  8:00am
Elwyn:

@DJ Mama: Wha? Me so confused... or just still recovering from a hypoglycemic incident.
  8:00am
Caryn:

@Lisa: oh, come on, just ask already. What are we, prudes?
  8:02am
Lisa:

@Fred - explain it to Elwyn please.
@Caryn - did you have him go downtown with that bifurcated tongue?
  8:02am
Lucas:

Hola Mama deejay!!!
  8:03am
fred:

@DJ Mama: We all know. You are Lisa.
  8:04am
Lisa:

@Fred - I don't even know you...
  8:05am
Lucas:

WHAT!???
  8:06am
Caryn:

@Lisa: no. Although I have wondered if the tongue split improves that... He also apparently has had some small metal orbs implanted under the skin along his penis, supposedly to also enhance the sexual experience, but again, I wouldn't have firsthand knowledge of that either. You'd have to ask his (similarly bodymodified) wife.
  8:07am
Lisa:

I should say, @Fred- I don't even know you.... anymore.
  8:08am
Lisa:

@Caryn- damn. Although it would just be for curiosity's sake. I'd have to close my eyes.
  8:09am
Lisa:

Buenos Dias Lucas!
  8:09am
fred:

DJ Mama is a character, Lisa is a person. She's cool enough to let you have that choice. Lisa is much better, but it's your call.
  8:10am
Lisa:

I love you Fred.
  8:12am
Elwyn:

@fred and DJ Mama and Lisa:
This is making me more confused.
  8:13am
Caryn:

@Elwyn: My brain hurts...
  8:14am
Lucas:

@Elwyn: we have multi-personality trouble here, but don't worry. We'll get to the end of this, I promise.
  8:17am
Elwyn:

@DJ MAMA/Lisa: Does each half of tongue have it's own personality?
  8:17am
Caryn:

You wanna modify your body, fine by me, but I just think that with all the metal implanted on their bodies, they're just making it more difficult for themselves to ever travel anywhere by plane. Seriously, can you imagine the hassle with the TSA people every time you'd try to fly? (at least when the guy had larger orbs implanted along both his arms, they were silicone, not metal, but the rest of it is still gonna be a nightmare)
  8:17am
Lucas:

@Elwyn : As far as I know, it seems that Lisa and Mama are the same person. You're shocked! It's normal, me too
  8:18am
Lisa:

I don't have a bifurcated tongue, Elwyn!
DJ Mama: Neither do I!
  8:22am
Dave B:

I cant recall what metal they use, but certain types don't set off metal detectors
  8:24am
Caryn:

@Dave: no, but the "full-body naked skanners" now used would probably pick them up. And since my 85-year-odl grandma was stripsearched because of her fake knee, I'm thinking metal orbs and screws would cause a similar response and some questioning.
  8:25am
Lisa:

DJ K has a hilarious story about getting scanned last week on her way home from Chicago.
  8:29am
Caryn:

Man, that shark gif alongside Shark? has been bugging me for a while, since I can't remember what movie that's from (I've seen that clip so many damn times...). It's a different movie from the one where the shark jumped up and ate the plane, right? Or is the same one?
  8:29am
Dave B:

ah.. haven't been thru one of those yet.... I was always puzzled by the whole body-mod thing anyway. Fast forward 40~50 years and imagine how "cool" it'll look.
  8:33am
fred:

@Dave B: that sound wistful enough to give Meghan some retaliation material.
  8:33am
Dave B:

@Caryn - Shark Attack 3: Megalodon...
  8:36am
Lucas:

@Caryn: there is also Sharktopus.
  8:36am
Lucas:

but I dont know anything about a plane...hmmm
  8:37am
Dave B:

Yeah, I suppose Fred.

Call me old fashioned.
  8:37am
Lisa:

BECAUSE THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF CURRY, KENDALL!
  8:39am
Caryn:

@Dave: I knew it had "Mega" in it, but I was like "'Megashark' is not right... What the hell is it?"
@Lucas: yep, seen that too. Hi-larious. And I advice you to find the plane clip on youtube or something (don't know how you'd find it, though... maybe just "shark plane" or something), because it is one of the most ridiculous scenes in any movie ever.
  8:40am
Dave B:

oh, the plane attack was Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

The gif above is from Megalodon
  8:40am
Dave B:

here's the plane attack:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skYRZ_-RXtk
  8:44am
Caryn:

yep, plane attack found with "shark plane": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBizgLZX7W0
  8:44am
Caryn:

@Dave B: jinx!
  8:46am
Lucas:

@Caryn: I agree
  8:46am
Dave B:

That company puts out some real gems!
  8:48am
Caryn:

Gotta give love to some Megalodon, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nzd0R_OeOc
Especially love how the size of the shark seems to change significantly from one attack to the next.
  8:49am
Lucas:

@Caryn: scale discontinuity, hahah
  8:51am
Lucas:

@Caryn: that would be fun to get in the minds of the people who make those movies, or to hear them explain to other pals what are they working at
  8:51am
Dave B:

hopefully no "love note" from the TSA was left behind:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/10/24/sexy-toy-discovery-leads-to-note-from-tsa-screener-woman-claims/
  8:51am
Caryn:

@Lucas: it's the Oprah of sharks, keeps shrinking and expanding and shrinking...
  8:52am
Dave B:

DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS PEOPLE!!!
  8:55am
Caryn:

I wanna hear someone explain the thought process behind either "Jack Frost" movie, but especially the Michael Keaton one, because it's a real feat to make a family film creepier than the horror film of the same name. "Yep, so Michael Keaton is a bad father who gets killed, but magically comes back as a creepy snowman and then hangs out with his son and kinda flirts with his human widow and..."
  8:57am
Lucas:

@Caryn: maybe at the final judgement
  9:00am
fred:

CocoRosie! I loved them back then
  9:00am
Caryn:

Then again, some awesome movies have totally bizarre ideas if you just try to explain them to someone. Seriously, try explaining "Donnie Darko" to someone who hasn't seen it... Great B-movies, too. Like "They Live": "Yeah, there's a construction worker (played by a WWF wrestler) who finds these alien sunglasses that show him that all rich people and authority figures are aliens. And then he and his best friend beat the hell out of each other in an alley for no good reason, and then..."
  9:00am
Lucas:

Me too. Their firts album is really nice
  9:02am
Caryn:

On a side note, I am enjoying watching Wonder Woman run in slow motion.
  9:06am
fred:

... only people I met who thought I'd be worth hating. Their call, obviously I won't see them ever again. I'm not welcome there
  5:06am
barry:

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh been up all night and was hoping to catch some live in my ear Keili Hamilton but... alas!!!... I have to get some zzzz's so just wanted to wish you a great show my favourite place in my heart wfmu dj from brooklyn
