Listener comments!

  3:03pm
Carmichael:

Here <raising hand>.
  3:04pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

how-DEEE pardner!
  3:05pm
Looms:

Don't you ever feel guilty for ruining Irene's peaceful moment, Scott?
  3:08pm
Scott W:

Howdy pardiners! Nah Looms, it's not unpeaceful.
  3:09pm
Óskar Jökull:

Oh yes. I like me some Grizzle.
  3:09pm
Looms:

Okay then ;D
  3:14pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I couldn't find the organ bag until after the turkey was cooked. Is this common?
  3:15pm
Marmalade kitty:

Yah! Hello!
  3:18pm
Carmichael:

DCE, it's not common, it's Scottish. Turkey and haggis, that's good eatin' right thar.
  3:19pm
blujacket:

greetings from vancouver! @dead eyes, that happened to me one thanksgiving and we had all eaten mushrooms about an hour and half before the bird was ready. when the bag of gizzards was discovered at the dining table it was quite disturbing but no one was hungry anyway because we were all trippin.
  3:19pm
j:

on organ bag : skip henderson
  3:30pm
Dave B:

Hey there!
  3:32pm
Loren:

Hello! Gomma workshop is kinda BOC-ish... very nice
  3:32pm
mark from central VT:

the organ bag is usually made from harmless paper and shouldn't pose a health problem if it were left in there, as long as it got fully cooked.
  3:33pm
Dave B:

@Loren - BOC not BÖC right?
  3:34pm
Marmalade kitty:

Do not cook plastic bags!
  3:35pm
Loren:

Boards of Canada, sorry.
  3:36pm
Dave B:

heheheh
  3:37pm
Dave B:

I just felt like using an umlaut...
  3:41pm
BSI:

OCCUPY THE ORGAN BAG!
  3:42pm
Carmichael:

My next album will be called Organ Bag.
  3:43pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

the directions told me to boil the neck for broth, so I did, and then didn't know what to do with the broth. It smelled funny.
  3:43pm
Dave B:

ÖRGÄN BÄG
  3:44pm
BSI:

My next EVERYTHING will be called Organ Bag, forever.
  3:47pm
dc pat:

this is coming from a veggie so take or leave: simmer the neck with heart and gizzard, onions, celery, carrots for a while, then thicken with flour and you have: GRAVY.
  3:49pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm a vegetarian who lapses every Thanksgiving...but I wouldn't eat no damn giblet gravy. Just a bit of the bird itself.
  3:49pm
Cecile:

DCE, save it to fortify gravy or use in stock.
I call it "turkey water."
I can also give you the best way to make turkey soup from the leftover bones.
  3:51pm
Cecile:

dcp, I make my gravy from pan drippings. But then again, I do put a hell of a lot of butter under the skin. It seems to pull out a lot of flavors and what not. I strain and skim mercilessly, and it works fine.
  3:51pm
Mike East:

@Cecile - I've got my bones boiled, and stock ready...soup shall be prepared tonight!
  3:51pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I dunno, that grosses me out.
  3:52pm
dc pat:

I had a little of the bird myself. Wasn't as good as my veggie Furkey.
  3:53pm
Marmalade kitty:

One day the turkey will eat all of you!
  3:53pm
Cecile:

I only use the neck. Love the other bits, but this year I passed.
I made mine yesterday.

Just put the turkey carcass in a crock pot. Pour water, and a 1/4 cup of vinegar over. Then salt and pepper. Throw a carrot or two, 1/2 onion, garlic if you want, sage or thyme in. Leave on low for 12 hours. Strain. Great turkey soup base.
  3:54pm
Cecile:

I welcome that day, kitty.
It's only fair.
  3:54pm
Marmalade kitty:

nice bit of neck! haha
  3:55pm
Bas, NL:

This Rother is... NICE!!!
  3:55pm
Dave B:

SOYLENT GREEN IS TURKEY.

ITS TURKEEEEEEEY!
  3:55pm
still b/p:

Oh, man. We are gonna get so totally basted on that day.

I et the boss's turkey soup for lunch today. Good.
  3:57pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

you still have a job after eating his lunch, s b/p?
  3:57pm
BSI:

Brilliant Rother piece.
  4:02pm
still b/p:

Big pot o' soup offered to all.
But tomorrow....I will settle his hash.
  4:05pm
jw:

  4:14pm
dc pat:

  4:15pm
fred von helsing:

  4:15pm
skidman:

  4:18pm
T-Zero:

If you are jw, I'll be there with you. I love Screamin' J too.
  4:18pm
T-Zero:

I meant dc pat! Doh!
  4:19pm
jw:

don't worry, i'm going to hell too.
  4:19pm
BSI:

That backing riff to his I HEAR VOICES tune needs to be looped & playing at all times, somewhere. I could live in that.
  4:20pm
T-Zero:

In fact, I think the reason I liked Stranger Than Paradise so much was just because of the music.
  4:22pm
no control:

Hell or Beyond?
  4:22pm
Carmichael:

Screamin' Jay works better with black and white.
  4:27pm
Scott W:

@dc pat, that's totally what I did, but in beet broth. Am I a little behind here?
  4:27pm
T-Zero:

And an old tape recorder ;)
  4:27pm
jimmy carl blacks cousin:

Play me sumptin I can enjoy!
  4:29pm
tony:

Bob and Doug!
  4:33pm
Carmichael:

Take off, hoser.
  4:34pm
BSI:

have actually been paralyzed by the need for a title for something and this Organ Bag riffing seems to have done the trick. DCE, i think this was your doing. Huge thanks. I can breathe again.
  4:40pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

can't wait to hear it, dude; I've named so many things for FMU comments it's insane.
  4:40pm
Loren:

Scott are you in Marine?
  4:41pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Semper Fi!
  4:43pm
Reprime your right fender:

I know you loved Monkees more than the Beatles!
  4:43pm
Scott W:

No Loren, I'm in Gang of Four
  4:43pm
Tom:

I see that you folks will be doing some work on the webstreams tonite. Can you guys fix Ichiban? I can't get it anymore. Thanks.
  4:44pm
Brass Knuckles:

Classic rock!
  4:44pm
commie:

Gang of four rules!
  4:48pm
Dave B:

its a series of tubes
  4:49pm
BSI:

True enough, DCE: There was a whole damned potential box-set of material in the Drunken Ken episode of 7SD alone....
  4:49pm
Loren:

Thanks for clearing that up Scott! Right now you're a GANG OF ONE.
  4:52pm
mark from central vt:

Are we still talking about organ bags and such? After our thanksgiving meal we were watching some dumb tv and flipping some channels with mother in law and we came across this late 60's war movie with spaniards in the old west with men in tight pants showing obvious package. The men were getting their meal from a big pot and the guy said "here is the dirty dish water" as he poured out some grey liquid with some chunks in it. My 11 year old daughter said "did he just say dirty douche water!?"
  4:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I watched Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice Thanksgiving night and fell in love with Natalie Wood all over again.
  4:55pm
BSI:

my love for this 24 Stunden track knows no bounds. My head is an organ-bag of rainbows. Thanks and praise, sw...
  4:57pm
Cecile:

man, that freeze frame album was fun until they played it so much you heard it in your sleep.
  4:58pm
Carmichael:

No problem loving the Monkees.
  4:59pm
Cecile:

I think a good theme song for organ bags is John Cale's "Guts". ba-doomp-doomp.
  4:59pm
Carmichael:

I played Blow Your Face Out so many times I can still recite every one of Peter Wolf's *soliloquies*.
  4:59pm
still b/p:

The well-to-do -- the 1% -- can buy a premium turkey with a canopic jar instead of an organ bag. But "canopic jar" is a dud of a title for anything else.
  5:01pm
Cecile:

the rapunzel one I think was a staple of Detroit rock radio for years.
  5:02pm
Looms:

What's the record to start with J. Geils Band? Sounded good.
  5:02pm
still b/p:

Full House.
  5:03pm
Looms:

Thx!
  5:03pm
Cecile:

I liked that one with the hand on it....
And bits of Monkey Island I liked.
  5:04pm
Cecile:

Sanctuary! That's the one.
  5:04pm
Looms:

Thank you too.
  5:05pm
mark from central vt:

Aren't bag pipes a kind of organ bag? They are not only made from an actual animal organ but are also like a personal pipe organ on your shoulder. Then there is haggis which is a bunch of organs stuffed into an organ bag
  5:06pm
BSI:

Dang, Cecile: Now you've put DEAD FISH DON'T SWIM HOME in my head (from the New Musik album also called Sanctuary) ... it'll take weeks of therapy and booze to cure this.
  5:09pm
Dave B:

according to urban dictionary, an organ bag is: "A person useful for little more than the low quality organs they drag around with them that could be given to those in need of a donor."
  5:10pm
Cecile:

So, business as usual, BSI?
  5:11pm
mark from central vt:

Who is worse an organ bag or douche bag?
  5:11pm
janie jones:

I am in love with the rok n roll wit!
  5:13pm
Dave B:

I'd guess the douche is worse
  5:14pm
BSI:

well, the therapy part is new...
  5:18pm
Cecile:

hey, new Charalambides is cheap to DL from Amazon....
  5:18pm
mark from central vt:

What if there was a douche bag which had a placenta in it?
  5:20pm
Cecile:

I'm starting to get that David Cronenberg movie feeling....urgh.
  5:20pm
jonathan:

bob and carol and ted and alice...time capsule.
  5:21pm
mark from central vt:

Or even a live fetus in the douche bag. Would it be a combination organ bag and douche bag
  5:23pm
ken russell:

Thje Devil!
  5:24pm
jeff-m:

cheers man
  5:29pm
pop star:

More shite!
  5:31pm
mark from central vt:

The meat from the douche bag fetus would probably fall right off the bone.
  5:33pm
Loren:

There is that Bruce Willis movie about being a surrogate... I think the surrogates called the humans "skin bag."
  5:34pm
SheWolf:

The Devils is finally seeing a real DVD release?? Do tell.
  5:35pm
Dave:

Parts of this bed track ('Cast Your Fate to the Wind') remind me of the soundtrack recording to the Pufnstuf movie.
  5:36pm
BSI:

After the many paths of this comment board today, I'd suggest you check that pizza very thoroughly, young man...
  5:37pm

  6:04pm
green eyed lady:

You are tom jones bitch.
  3:47pm
Waqas:

just have to say you did an awesome job for yesterday's show as usual!! it was sweet, beautiful, music bliss!! except that one song where it sounded like they were having sex in the recording room :X that was kinda awkward. but overalled i gained inspiration for a story/movie concept called "one night." it's about a neo-retro greaser and the dreamlike and bizzare adventure he goes on while riding his self-made motorcycle/hot rod or "cycle-rod" :D it would of course take place in new jersey, and he would have a 'swoop'de loop' haircut.
  3:34pm
Shane:

Interesting but a load of rampant scabies
