http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1262293/The-Termites-tunnel-Paris-bank-steal-millions-cash-jewellery-ingenious-heist.html
  6:10am
pierre:

@ Chuck : to bring some back in France? Resin Castings that very cool, what do you do? As art project ?
  6:11am
hamburger:

my favorite prison-related quote: http://imdb.to/uG9OxQ
  6:11am
Dave B:

Prisoner: There's a message an the grapevine, Johnny.
Johnny: "Yeah? What is it?
Prisoner: Johnny and the mother are playin' Stomp It at the Savoy in Vermont tonight.
Johnny: Vermin's going to kill my brother at the Savoy theater tonight!
Prisoner: I didn't say that.
Johnny: No, but I know this grapevine.
  6:13am
Chuck:

No, Pierre. They work for an art gallery in Brooklyn. The artist is actually British. It was cool to hear them speak in French though...

I make molds and castings of sculpture. As does Meghan when she has a notion to....
  6:15am
Meghan:

Notion? I am doing it every day now! Along with making the sculpture. Lots of clay work....
  6:15am
Chuck:

Hamburger, you're starting to worry me with this fixation...
  6:17am
Chuck:

Relax, Meg! I was only funin'!!

I've been up since 2:30. Guess I'm dopey from lack of sleep...
  6:17am
Dave B:

Damn - I should have included "Confinement Loaf" from Zappa's opus Thing Fish.....

You got the rest of the goodies I sent?
  6:18am
Meghan:

You seem to have only been up a little later than myself! I need sleep BAD!
  6:19am
fred von helsing:

This planet ain't big enough for the both of us, Buster
  6:21am
Chuck:

At least you don't have a client coming over later, Meghan. It's gonna be a task to stay alert. Remember the clear resin castings you saw here? That guy...
  6:23am
Meghan:

I wish that was all I had. I gotta tend bar after. If it's dead, I may be asleep on my feet..... and if it's busy I might be asleep on top of someone...
  6:25am
Chuck:

The up side is ... The 'Biz' is going GREAT!!! I actually had enough to purchase some 'toys' that I've wanted for a long time.

Yup, understand the bartending gig. I used to close on Sundays and have to be back at 10 the next morning....
  6:26am
fred von helsing:

Oh Lord I just got the most horrible feeling... that we'll be hearing Thin Lizzy...
  6:27am
Chuck:

Shake it off, FVH!
  6:28am
Chuck:

Dave B, ever use a Gallien-Kruger amp? I just bought one on Ebay....
  6:30am
Dave B:

Oh - and a warm GOOD MORNING/GOOD AFTERNOON to all Park attendees.

G+K makes some good stuff Chuck. I used to have one and a big honkin Sunn cabinet before I moved into NYC. Since then I've downsized to a little 30W Behringer...
  6:33am
karen:

Is that a photo of the prison in Philly??
Have you seen the prison in Boston? Looks like a Marriot!!
  6:33am
Marmalade kitty:

I bought Johnny Cash live @ San Quentin and had been after Folsom Prison but it wasn't in stock! so I settled with San Quentin.. less than a fortnight later I saw a limited edition twin pack of both SanQuentin and Folsom Prison for the same price as the single San Quentin. how annoying is that?
  6:34am
Chuck:

Heard good reviews myself, DB. It's a Backline 600 head that I got. Already have and old Peavey T-300 (1976!)to pipe it through, which I paid NOTHING for! Left behind by one of my landlords previous tenants....
  6:35am
Dave B:

The only time I was ever behind bars was as a kid visiting my dad working at the little holding station on the World's Fair grounds in Flushing. I musta been 9 or 10. He threw me in the slammer and went on his day for a while.

Good life lesson.
  6:35am
fred von helsing:

Finland's criminal justice system: a mark of civilization. The USA's: don't get me started...
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/01/02/world/caught-red-handed-let-it-be-in-finland.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm
  6:35am
Meghan:

Oh, man M Kitty.... that sucks. So typical too. I feel like that always happens to me....
  6:36am
Chuck:

Same thing has happened to me on more than one occasion, MKitty! Frustrating, ain't it...
  6:38am
Almost Nothing:

I'm mostly curious what you would play without two weeks of sleep, certainly aphrodisiacs for us, listeners.
  6:38am
Dave B:

the phrasing/melody of this Ikettes reminds me of a different song that I can't place right now...
  6:39am
fred von helsing:

Is prison a uniquely blues experience? It's funny how ya don't hear too many (say) electropop songs about prison huh
  6:39am
Meghan:

Well Almost... you let me know how I do..... cause I am not so sure what I really picked out!
  6:41am
Almost Nothing:

Loose some sleep and say you try as probably Ian Curtis would think of it
  6:42am
Meghan:

As long as I don't end up like Ian Curtis.....
  6:42am
fred von helsing:

Whoa DaveB, the NY World's Fair eh. Was it cool? Or was it THE COOLEST?
  6:45am
karen:

Good show, Meg
I love Sam Cooke.
  6:45am
Almost Nothing:

As long as you don't fall to sleep the body snatchers can't harm you
  6:47am
Dave B:

I was only a year old for the 60s one. By the time I visited Dad it had fallen/was falling into a state of disrepair. Still the grounds there are VERY cool and I visit often...

I have some swag from it, and the one from the '39... Good thing mom was a pack rat.
  6:48am
Chuck:

Highly unlikely you'd end up like Ian, Meghan. "Offing" yourself isn't really part of you agenda....
  6:48am
fred von helsing:

I hear "Cool Hand Luke" is a pretty excellent flick
  6:49am
Robin The Fog:

Meghan! Underwater Theme Park friends! I'm back! And (currently) fully clothed! So sorry for my extended absence! Are you all well and jolly? I hope so!
  6:50am
Chuck:

  6:51am
Chuck:

  6:51am
fred von helsing:

OKAY OKAY OKAY WARDEN ! How many cigs izzis gonna cost me
  6:52am
Jeff in PA:

  6:53am
Dave B:

  6:53am
Meghan:

Robin! Welcome back!! We missed You!
  6:54am
Meghan:

ha! Morning Jeff!
  6:54am
Robin The Fog:

Awww, thanks, old fruit! I missed you all too! Imagine having to work on a THURSDAY?! How I've suffered! I trust you are well and have had coffee?
  6:55am
Chuck:

Either it's the music or lack of sleep, but suddenly I feel like I'm trippin'...
  6:56am
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Meghan and all the listeners.

Iron Maiden's The Prisoner?
  6:58am
Dave B:

"Caged Heat" was pretty good(bad) too!

Jonathan Demme - of "Stop Making Sense" acclaim, wrote and directed "Caged Heat" (and he was born in my hometown too)
  7:00am
Meghan:

I am currently working on the coffee part.....

Morning Richard! Oh, I didn't have that Maiden one.... You can take it up with Jeff in PA.... he's the one that helps with the metal portion usually.... (hehe)
  7:00am
Chuck:

"Escape From Alcatraz" was one of my faves for prison flicks, DB. So clever what they had to do to get out....
  7:01am
Robin The Fog:

How about 'Rikers Island' by Kool G Rap? Have I spelt that correctly?
  7:02am
Dave B:

No doubt Chuck! I like the "women in prison" exploit B movies
It's like cheese on celluloid!
  7:04am
Chuck:

Don't think I've actually seen any of those, Dave! Got any recommendations?
  7:05am
Dave B:

The Great Escape or Stalag 17 too!

Here's a bunch:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_prison_film
  7:05am
Meghan:

I don't have any rap amazingly. I had 2 songs and ditched them since there wasn't enough for a good set. oh well....
  7:05am
fred von helsing:

Women in prison... always an entertaining theme !
  7:06am
Almost Nothing:

I'm wondering what exists out there from different time periods, various places on earth related to prison. Maybe Jean Genet mention a few, or Kaurismaki for that fact.
  7:06am
Chuck:

Yes! Both fantastic, DB!

I'll have a look....
  7:07am
Elwyn:

Hey everyone!
  7:08am
Dave B:

Elwyn!
  7:08am
fred von helsing:

Bonnie and Clyde ! And now, back to our regularly scheduled program..
  7:08am
Meghan:

morning Elwyn!

When I think of women's prison I think of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. It's part of the Korean vengeance trilogy
  7:10am
Dave B:

ooh... sounds good Meghan. Haven't explored that sub-genre.
  7:11am
fred von helsing:

I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
  7:12am
Gavin.:

you should call it "Sleep is For the Week". LOLZ
  7:14am
Dave B:

@FvH - YOU ARE NOW 6 DOUBLE 5 3 2 1!!!!
  7:15am
Chuck:

Just looked over the Wiki on "women in prison". OMG, does it sound like ultra-CHEESE! Gotta check it out at some point...

Thanks for the quote, FVH! Hear it every week on WVKR....
  7:15am
Meghan:

Ohhhhh Good one Gavin!
  7:16am
Chuck:

"Where am I?"
"The VILLAGE!"
  7:17am
Dave B:

http://cdn2.hark.com/images/000/109/973/109973/original.jpg
  7:18am
Meghan:

Oh Dave... you haven't seen those movies? It's amazing! I started with Old Boy. The Koreans win at making horror if you ask me.... Truly messed up images that mess with you.
  7:18am
Chuck:

"Not only am I going to escape, but I'm going to come back, wipe this place off the map and you with it!"
  7:19am
Almost Nothing:

As for a transition from prison to sleep Piero Umiliani's Svezzia, Inferno e Paradiso could come in handy.
  7:21am
fred von helsing:

Hee hee I saw this Pretenders song live, and during an "Ooh! Aah!" chorus I made eye contact with the drummer, who was doing it, he shot me a bemused look like "Hey what the heck, it's a living..."
  7:22am
Chuck:

I can't remember it now but there was a recent Korean monster movie that I thought was really, really good. Anyone know which one I'm thinking of? Can't remember the title now...
  7:22am
Elwyn:

I used to love this Pretenders album and the album it came off whose name I can't remember right now.
  7:23am
fred von helsing:

@chuck yeah it's a pretty good flick, what was it? And have you seen the N.Korea Godzilla ripoff?
  7:26am
Chuck:

Damn, I wish I could remember the title, FVH. It got 3 1/2 stars for a possible 4 on my local cable box. Think it was made in the earlier 2000s. I was impressed. Nope, haven't seen the N.K. Godzilla! Know what it's called?
  7:26am
Dave B:

The Turks make some spectacularly BAD ripoff movies...

  7:31am
fred von helsing:

You are sentenced to hang by the neck... until you cheer up!
  7:32am
fred von helsing:

Perhaps we could turn the all-Rush special into a torture-themed episode? Woof! Snargle!
  7:33am
Chuck:

Turkish Captain America too, Dave!!! OMG!!! "The horror, the horror..."
  7:33am
Andy in Berlin:

  7:36am
Chuck:

Thanks for the link, FVH! I'll have a look when we leave the Theme Park....
  7:44am
Chuck:

Also need to find where to see "Night of the Lepus", right, Meg! Terrible, yet classic. They ran it on TCM months ago, alas, at 3AM so I didn't get to see it again...
  7:44am
Robin The Fog:

Wow, Nancy, you never fail to impress!
  7:44am
exphillyette:

i think you were describing the movie "The Edge of Heaven" directed by Fatih Akin
  7:45am
Meghan:

Exphillyette.... that was what I was thinking too..... but I wasn't sure! Thanks!

OMG... Chuck, I was talking about that with my mom this weekend. I found clips of it on YouTube
  7:46am
Chuck:

  7:47am
david from ks.:

  7:51am
david from ks.:

,,,O i had a neighbor from Brooklyn NY who broke out of the jail in Hutchinson,Ks. using a bar of soap ina sock in 1957,,,,
  7:52am
Dave B:

Out Of Sight - Clooney, Jennifer Lopez . Good flick, AWESOME soundtrack.
  7:52am
Robin The Fog:

What about 'Shake Your Head', Meghan? I think that had that Kim Bassinger in it. What a talented woman. And don't forget, for many people of my generation, Stevie Wonder is the guy responsible for 'I Just Called To Say I Love You' rather than 'Innervisions'.,,
  7:53am
Chuck:

Careful with the soap david from ks. You might get hamburger excited....
  7:53am
Dave B:

oh, and speaking of soap and prison... probably the BEST use of soap in a prison break - Woody Allen "Take The Money And Run"
  7:54am
Mr. Friction:

Yes, it was not was. 'Walk The Dinosaur' appeared on the 'What Up, Dog?' album, immediately followed by 'Dad, I'm In Jail'.

I would pay to see that film.
  7:56am
Chuck:

Oh yeah, DB! I remember the scene now!!! HA!
  7:58am
Jim Devoid:

Morning Meghan. It must be my 'metal mind' but when I saw your theme, I automatically went to Wendy O. Williams in 'Reform School Girls'! Yikes!
  7:59am
Meghan:

Ohhhh didn't think of that one Jim! Damn! Morning T Zero, Andrew and Andy! Sorry for the delay in greets!
  8:01am

  8:06am
Meghan:

I need to start working on that!
  8:08am
Dave B:

I gotta scoot a little early. I'll be listening remotely, but need to head across town...Have a great day/night people!
  8:08am
Jim Devoid:

Generic song idea (maybe too radio friendly?) Thin Lizzy's 'Jailbreak'?
  8:09am
Meghan:

Dave, you can't scoot before the RAWK set....
  8:09am
fred von helsing:

Oh sorry... I was still daydreaming about my new film featuring women, prison, and soap, with Elvis on electric guitar and the Rat Pack knocking back martinis and plotting a massive breakout. What's the song that plays over the opening titles? Does Elvis do a duet with Sammy Davis Jr? Will there be Marianne Faithful on a motorcycle? Yes kids, with the wonders of CGI, anything is possible...
  8:10am
jeff p:

TOTALLY waiting for the RAWK set!
  8:11am
Dave B:

I'll be listening, just not commenting!

RAWK!

Missed all of that due to clown music...
  8:35am
glenn:

  8:36am
Chuck:

Ever hear the song "Diane" by Husker Du, hamburger? I'm sure Elwyn knows it...
  8:36am

  8:37am
Robin The Fog:

I do love the opening lines in that Thin Lizzy song: 'Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak, somewhere in this town'. Somewhere? Maybe the jail? Has anyone checked the jail? etc. etc.
  8:37am
jeff p:

Anything as awesome as "shame and scandal in the family" this week?
  8:38am
Chuck:

Date rape AND murder, hamburger....
  8:38am
glenn:

maybe it was an entire town of jails.
  8:39am
Meghan:

ha.... so true Robin! So true!

Sadly... it's hard to top last weeks song......
  8:39am
hamburger:

hmm but no prison eh
  8:39am

@Dave B: is that an update? Does it buffer a lot less?

Elwyn:

@Evil Brady: have you ever been in jail?
  8:43am
jeff p:

*asks the guy from a continent established as a jail*
  8:43am
fred von helsing:

What rhymes with "prison"? "Fizzin'"? "His'n" (hers)? There ain't much for a songwriter to work with here. Can I rhyme "hard time" with "lard crime"? "Felony" and "Melanie"?
  8:44am
Elwyn:

@Jeff P: Heh heh!
  8:45am
fred von helsing:

"subpoena" and "my weenah"? =:-O
  8:45am
Meghan:

ha! So true Jeff P! Elwyn should be called Convict Elwyn...

See FVH, this is why you not making the songs....
  8:46am
glenn:

prolly why songwriters use jail instead of prison. bail , nail , hail , fail. and so on.
  8:46am
fred von helsing:

why you not using helper verbs ? :)
  8:47am
fred von helsing:

"paddywagon" and "daddy-shaggin'".
Oh Lord what have I gotten into here?
  8:49am
Robin The Fog:

Bloody marvellous show as ever today, Meghan! I've missed hanging out here with you all. Hopefully next week? Now go and get forty winks behind something large and concealing!

Dave B:

And Ellen - no (see comment from first hour)
  8:51am
Chuck:

Apologies to any sensitive ladies that may have been offended by the "date rape / murder" topic of the Husker Du song. I know Meghan's not really bothered by it 'cause she'd kick the living shit out of any one trying it....
  8:52am
Meghan:

yep..... I would!
  8:54am
Dave B:

Penile System
