  12:08pm Parq:

Okay, so Joe's on Tuesday now. That means Fabio's on Thursday. No wait, Diane is on Thursday. No wait, Fabio *is* on Thursday, but after Diane. Right, got it.
  12:08pm jljl:

Slightly confused, why the switch? My ears were expecting metal.
  12:10pm G:

Diane used to be on Thursday afternoons, and is back there now. You'd have to ask Ken about the strategic thinking behind the shuffling!
  12:11pm tim from Champaign:

I just found out that there's 2 free Dirtbombs/White Mystery shows coming up in Chicago and NYC: 12/16 in Chicago and 12/17 in NYC. You can get tix at dirtbombs dot sailorjerrypresents dot com. I'm not schilling for the hooch company, just a stoked fan.
  12:21pm John L.:

It's 62 degrees, the doors are open, radio's rockin'-feels like Spring!!!
  12:23pm PFFlyer:

It's 20 degrees, the curtains are closed, radio's rockin'-feels like Spring!!! Thanks WFMU & posters!
  12:27pm G:

How did Ronald get the nickname Bad? :-P
  12:27pm John L.:

Where is the Chris Mars from? Can't find it anywhere, except on your show.
  12:27pm PSS:

Three Chord Monte - A very welcome part of my afternoon! An essential element.
  12:27pm Mike East:

Good afternoon, Belockers!
  12:28pm Joe B:

Hi all, thanks for tuning in! and for the welcome back to Tuesdays! jijl, wish I had some answers, don't really know. G, we'll let BR explain it if he's out there!
  12:28pm Moody Blues:

Yes, I knew we needed a little genre fixing to make the Tuesday theme playlist.
  12:29pm Concerned:

http://occupywallst.org/article/occupy-wall-street-goes-home/
1pm - Pennsylvania and Livonia - Brooklyn ----- On December 6th Occupy Wall Street will join in solidarity with a Brooklyn community to re-occupy a foreclosed home. The day of action marks a national kick-off for a new frontier for the occupy movement: the liberation of vacant bank-owned homes for those in need.
  12:29pm Joe B:

John L. - it was on the spin snickers cmj douchebag hour or some show like that. took some careful editing to get their clown host out of the picture!
  12:31pm Joe B:

thanks for the info Concerned!
  12:37pm PFFlyer:

Really love this vid my Chris Mars after all this time...it's as fresh as a daisy. I love metaphors. I never metaphor I didn't like. ok, I'm shutting up now..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQwZ0LRRHnY
  12:44pm PSS:

This is AWESOME! What is it from? (Deniz Tek)
  12:46pm PFFlyer:

har HAR! Just watched the Hi-Risers vid "One Note Joe", which I'd seen live, but forgot about it until today's particular show. Must be a early-in-the-week, Tuesday kinda' thing for a brain to actually work.
  12:50pm Carrier:

Best thing maybe ever ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1J_TJx_rhY&feature=related
  12:50pm Mike Sin:

Hi Joe! I'm working at home today and have the broadcast signal filling the house.
  12:51pm MD:

Joe...I have been getting a "skip" on the internet feed
all morning...do you guys know of this...???
  12:52pm Joe B:

Hi Mike! thanks for tunin in! MD, first I've heard of it. anyone else having trouble?
  12:53pm SHIMMY:

is this a new bloody hollies record? how many years they been goin at this point?!
  12:55pm jljl:

Enjoying the garage once I readjusted from lack of metal. Love this new Bloody Hollies CD and the XTC song which I played myself not so long ago. Keep up the good tunes.
  12:55pm Joe B:

We just got the BH CD. Came out a few months ago. They have been releasing records at least 10 years with a long break. The main cat relocated from Buffalo to San Diego and reformed the band there for the last record in 2007. Unless I missed one, this is the first since then!
  12:55pm Wikipedia:

The Bloody Hollies are an American punk rock band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 2000.
  12:56pm MD:

It might be on my end...I am listening at work...our IT guy might not be an FMU fan!!!...just thought i'd mention it...welcome back to tuesdays...I need your music early in the work week!!!
  12:56pm Wikipedia:

Joe's memory is 100%. No Bloody Hollies album listed between 2007 and 2011.
  12:58pm PFFlyer:

MD..yeah, mine was skipping also. I switched over to my Winamp to take care of the problem and actually noticed since I have control over the sound, it's better. My opinion anyway.
  12:58pm Stace:

Hey Joe, Twin Guns is great!! Me Gusto Mucho!!!
  12:59pm MD:

Thanks for the tip...PF....
  1:00pm Mike East:

I thought Little Steven gave credit for garage rock to Bill Kelly. That's just what I heard
  1:01pm SHIMMY:

never knew they were from buffalo originally. saw them in 2007 in brooklyn but they were already SD based.
  1:03pm Joe B:

@ Mike East - oh, my bad. I do know he has interns monitoring this show, Spazz and a few others.
  1:06pm DNA:

So? Sounds like a compliment to me!
  1:08pm PFFlyer:

I give credit to my next door neighbors, Allen & Phil, for having a '55 blown Rat Motor'd Chev, a Hemi transplanted into a '68 Baracuda coupe (fugly!), a real 66 Plym Belvedere Hemi car (which back-fired 8 barrels of carb and gave a " 'fro " to the first white man in north Mpls back in 1968), and a 67 Dart with the meanest 340 found on the north side .....oh, they had the crappiest GARAGE band back then too, but they really tried despite consuming mass quantities of GTX Malt Likker.
  1:15pm Mike Sin:

Y'know, I guess I'm getting old , but I actually think it's great dig that Joe is broadcasting these old "don't drink and drive" PSA spots.
Just thinking aloud here... Man, I don't like to drag down my own state, but NJ is the land of agressive a-hole drivers... Around the holidays, one does then see a lot of DRUNK agressive a-hole drivers. Just sayin'...

Anyway, the Fireballs track followed this later DC5 track caused me to roll the volume up that much more!
  1:16pm Joe B:

Mike, the funny/sad thing is even when not drunk, the same people that bitch about the cost of car insurance are the same ones who then go out and drive like maniacs!
  1:17pm Marlin Belvedere:

318 MOPAR - Now THAT was a motor.
1:17pm DRUNK Agressive A-hole Jersey Holiday Drivers:

Just stay the fuck outta the way when you see us, dude. No prob.
  1:17pm What!:

Hi PFFlyer...I don't suppose these were the guys that had the "Plum Crazy" car (a Dart, maybe?) out front, were they?
  1:17pm Joe B:

also Mike, re the Fireballs, I can't get over how great these later tracks are, on this comp and the other Norman Petty CD. I came across a few of the Atco 45s at the record fair and snagged them. Gotta track down the rest!
  1:18pm Sugar Shack:

Fireballs ... was that Jimmy Gilmer's band? I remember a song called "Long Green" on Atco that was a regional hit back in the day.
  1:19pm Vega Envy:

Saw a Maverick Grabber the other day up in Hobart. F'n cool!
  1:21pm joe:

'ello folks
  1:22pm joe:

This swap of Joe B and DK is going to really screw with my head :)
  1:23pm Robbie:

Got any Yellow Balloon laying around?
  1:23pm PFFlyer:

318, poly or wedge, can easily & cheaply knock out 400 ft. lbs torque, 410 hp. A blown poly easily achieves 500 hp on crap gasoline, but I'd burn E85. Great little motor IF done right! Lot's of info, but hey...no one ever wrote a song about the poor, lowly grocery getter engine known as the 318 dream. HEY! I've got a Mav in the garage too! Going to drop the 400 CID (Ford, not Chev) and hang on for very dear life (700 hp plus!). Play more Chris Mars or Hi-Risers, please? Thx 4 DC5.
  1:25pm AMC Kenosha:

Cool, PFF! Wish I had my old '73 Gremlin X with the LEVIā„¢ interiror! (Sigh) 3-Speed. Got totalled in a tornado!
  1:26pm PFFlyer:

OH crap! Sorry W! Didn't see the comment! Uh, why that was THE absolute quickest car in NSide if not beyond...your messin' with me, right? If I didn't know better, I'd guess your the owner of said Plum Crazy Dart (1971?). If so...I thought U were LONG gone...sorry.
  1:27pm The Judge:

Those old Falcon Sprints were cool, too. With the tach on the hood. Pontiac Tempest, Mercury Cyclone ... so many great ones.
  1:28pm NPR:

Welcome to CarTalk
  1:29pm '67 Mustang 2+2:

Don't forget the venerable 289 or the Charger with the 426-hemi! Where have all the good times gone?
  1:31pm Auto Preminger:

Studebaker Avanti on want list.
  1:32pm PFFlyer:

they go together...Joe B, the songs he's playing, naked women (I made that up...rightttt), Schlitz, and the great American experience....cars. The good times are now, right here. In my giant old diary barn full of crap and being able to download this show and drag it out there in NoWhere WI. Oh...the naked women probably won't be there, nor any naked men...or naked animals for you jokesters that are about to post the next lowest denominator.
  1:39pm David Gates:

Wow! A diary barn!
  1:40pm SmokinJ:

Screw the diary. I know enough already..
  1:43pm Mike Sin:

re: Fireballs
Norman Petty knew the value of having a great primed house band at the ready to come in and get the sessions done especially if he was recording with new or inexperienced musicians or under a tight deadline. Those later Fireballs' singles on Atco along with all the session work they were doing really shows just how talented these guys were.
  1:50pm PFFlyer:

Ca-REE-ture O' Habbit. New name 4 a band, no? Ya, it sux. I'll try harder. Oh great..."Mr." Rinky Dink. & U thought my band moniker was too much.
  1:50pm SHIMMY:

does sound like a good deal for the artists working with Scion, although it's still a bit of a headscratcher what this does for them!
  1:52pm Joe B:

yeah I don't get it. I thought I'd have to give my email address or something to get the download but nothing of the sort!
  1:58pm SHIMMY:

i mean, tieing in with your other listeners on the board here, does anyone expect the Scion to be around in 10 years? it seems like the first logical one on the chopping block next time revenue drops. so the fact i might associate the brand with good music isn't really going to pay off. but hey, maybe i'm just a pessimist.
  2:01pm Parq:

What if the Fuck Knights did a double bill with the Condo Fucks? How would Joe mention the gig on the air?
  2:03pm Cecile:

I love hearing both the Reigning Sound and Barrence Whitfield. Barrence would have held his own with the greats back in the day, and Greg Cartwright writes songs as good as they did back then.
  2:04pm SHIMMY:

posted some pretty good video of the othermen's gig from thanksgiving (this song actually) a couple of days ago on http://www.youtube.com/garagepunknyc if you're curious what these slobs look like in action.
  2:05pm kata:

got any Zen Guerilla?
  2:05pm Joe B:

I have to see these cats!
  2:06pm seang:

come to Boston and see how the massholes drive-it's wicked fierce
  2:06pm PFFlyer:

My gut feeling, testimony from economists, and even a couple "normal" evangelical preachers have proclaimed to only transport your well being into the next 3 to 5 years. That is, forget about ten years from now.....change is so unpredictible, it's not worth thinking about too much. That is, this ain't your father's world...nor his Oldsmobile (shameless CAR talk) either. Ergo, live within a 3 year frame is my take on the situation we're in...musically, or anything else for that matter.
  2:07pm SHIMMY:

they're brilliant joe. most underrated band in brooklyn. every show is the like the most fun saturday night.
  2:07pm Cheri Pi:

What a hateful set!!!!!!!
  2:08pm Joe B:

cheri next one is positive!
  2:08pm gas huffer dude:

I called. I want my sideburns back.
  2:09pm Cecile:

My husband goes, "well, things will get better and times will be exciting. Or they'll get really bad, and times will also be exciting. And you'll probably get to fire a machine gun like you've always wanted."
  2:09pm SueA:

awesome song. "i hope your not really into it."
  2:10pm Cecile:

I'm liking hate today.
  2:11pm SueA:

damn - i'll miss this show n thurs. i normally work in the office on tuesday. but lucky me is sick.
  2:13pm PFFlyer:

I just realized that I might be the illegitimate son of "Zippy the Pinhead", drawn by Bill Griffith. Ma! PA! How couldcha' lie 2 me!!! I hate "liking" today.
  2:16pm gas huffer dude:

Play some Gas Huffer!
  2:19pm PFFlyer:

YEAH! Crooked Bird!
  2:20pm geokopp:

ha ha he said thursday! stead of tuesday.
  2:20pm Cecile:

Los Straighjackets doing Christmas in Vegas if you need any ideas.
  2:23pm Cecile:

he didn't say anything about not driving blitzed.
  2:29pm PFFlyer:

OK...he was driving metaphorically speaking while confined within a straightjacket while blitzed. Sounds and mentally appears like the old Ramones vid, but in my head only. thx 4 the ol' Lover's curse song, Joe.
  2:32pm hi from holland:

If I was a boy, never heard it before, not that bad actually ;-)
  2:33pm KevinWho:

Missing Monuments punked out on their Pittsburgh show Thursday! when I got there, the bartender said they just showed up, looked around, and left ... for whatever reason
  2:41pm jljl:

BTW Jenny just had a baby and her other band the Dents did a reunion and will play a Xmas party next week.
  2:43pm Joe B:

thanks for the update!
  2:51pm PFFlyer:

soylent green....is PEOPLE!!!!! yuck.
