  4:23pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Last night, Jeff played a great early song from The Cure. That, and you playing "A Forest", reminds me of 8th grade (1986/87) and it also reminds me I need to revisit this band from that era. Thanks, Scott! Good stuff!
  4:23pm

  5:40pm
mark:

Really dug that Stacian. Vocal reminded me a little of Rosie from Pram.
  5:49pm
Robert:

Pierre, is there a way of translating the 2nd voice into French that would make those responses as short as the elliptic English? That's part of its charm, the brevity of "I'm not [telling you the truth]" and "You don't [know it]".

For the 2nd response he could say, "Pas de methode" or "Point de methode", but that still has a 4 syllables. For the 1st, "Je [ne] l'ais dit pas" would still be too long, and simply, "Jamais", while vey short and approximating the same answer, doesn't quite get it.
  5:52pm
Robert:

How about "Tout noir" as a metaphoric version of the 2nd response? Or "Tout obscur" or "Tout fonce"?
  5:55pm
fred von helsing:

US Girls great stuff !
  5:55pm
pierre:

@ Robert : you are right, i need to work on my translation, and keep the music of these sentences. Your ideas are very interesting, "Jamais" is actually pretty accurate. That's the problem, french takes place, whereas english is short and precise.
  5:56pm
Robert:

Similarly for the 1st response, "Ne que des mensonges"?
  5:57pm
Robert:

It's not that English is always so short, just that we can say a lot of things elliptically. They do that in French too, but not as flexibly.
  5:59pm
Robert:

That is, in a brief response in context like that, we can assume phrases and clauses that the other person said instead of repeating them.
