Listener comments!

  12:10pm
pierre:

Bonjour Diane !
  12:11pm
Cheri Pi:

Heavy Heavy Heavy
  12:12pm
Cecile:

I love the tusked ones, but it feels like they nicked Kix's "Dont' Close Your Eyes" a little here.
  12:13pm
glenn:

i find it odd that i like diane's show, but not professor dum dum's.
  12:13pm
Cecile:

also, it sounds like they are about two albums and a passel of keyboards away from verging into Kansas territory.
  12:14pm
Cecile:

That's because Diane plays good music. And she doesn't talk about eating babies.
  12:15pm
glenn:

see, kansas. another band that sucks, named after a place.
  12:15pm
Hampster:

Babies are not just for dinner anymore!
  12:17pm
BSI:

yes. this.
  12:19pm
glenn:

plus diane has great guests. and doesn't censor the comment board.
  12:21pm
slirpa:

That's bcuz Diane and Dum Dum are two entirely different shows. I love them both!
  12:21pm
Buttons McGee:

  12:24pm
Cheri Pi:

It sounds like poltergeists are screaming in my ear, is that part of the song or the stream? I like it anyhow..
  12:25pm
Cecile:

Vaz, formerly Minneapolis's finest.
  12:25pm
Cheri Pi:

OK-it just stopped
  12:29pm
Mike East:

I just watched a Phil Lynott documentary the other day. That guy was ROCK AND ROLL!
  12:30pm
Cecile:

HELLS YEAH.
  12:31pm
Cecile:

one of my favorite Yonkers songs
  12:32pm
Glenn L:

What Cecile said.
  12:33pm
bill:

Was "The Rocker" a joke? Anybody have an educated opinion?
  12:35pm
Mike East:

Are you referring to the doc that I just mentioned or the Rainn Wilson movie. I think the latter was a joke, yes.
  12:35pm
Vince:

Youhou! Kamikaze show!
  12:36pm
bill:

Sorry, I meant the Thin Lizzy song about groupies
  12:38pm
Mike East:

hahah - my bad. No, I am not educated enough to have an opinion on that.
  12:43pm
Cecile:

This is what I wanted the last couple of Mission of Burma albums to sound like....l
  12:50pm
Cecile:

I was never formally introduced to their lead guy when Vaz were still in Mpls, but I'd talk to him at shows sometimes. He was nice and went to loads of shows. They're better off where they are.
  12:50pm
bill:

Digging these zigs and zags, DK
  12:56pm
Dave B:

re: eating babies...

  12:57pm
andymorphic:

  12:58pm
Cecile:

I feel like I'm in a weird Metallica/Queensrhyche vortex...
  1:04pm
leberwurst:

what is this song diane/you intruduced herself? right @ beginning of talk ??
  1:05pm
Cecile:

Ever assign anything to Rod Smith? Love that guy.
  1:08pm
Dave B:

@ leberwurst - I think the bed music is "the mark of zorro" by The Banditos
  1:09pm
Cecile:

Link to the Hall of Fame:
http://www.decibelmagazine.com/hof/

I probaby have physical copies of like 10 of them...
  1:10pm
Cecile:

I have some quibbles with the choices of albums, but not the bands. I mean, I think Under the Blood Red Sun is the best Kyuss album. but whatevs. Their name is out there.
  1:14pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Mark E Smith interview on the death of John Peel:

  1:14pm

  1:21pm
Cheri Pi:

  1:22pm
Cheri Pi:

Just a hint of insect voice at the finish.
  1:23pm
Marmalade Kitty:

  1:25pm
Turkish_Weeper:

  1:26pm
Cheri Pi:

I may have to subscribe, I love flexis
  1:40pm
Marmalade Kitty:

  1:43pm
Turkish_Weeper:

I heard Nick Holmes for a second! I heard Nick Holmes! Turkish Weepers are delighted!!
  1:47pm
johnr:

that'd be "Blues for the Red Sun," Cecile, and yep, it's completely and totally great.
  1:50pm
Turkish_Weeper:

Shades of God shout out!!!!!!! Turkish Weepers are going wild here!!
  1:54pm
Cecile:

duh, johnr, I knew that. everything is getting mixed up in my head these days.
  1:55pm
Cecile:

have you considered doing a panel review like BWBK or Terrorizer?

Also, what metal magazines are you reading besides Decilbel?
  1:56pm
Cecile:

oooh, Albert, can you make a Slayer Christmas album happen?
  2:00pm
Cheri Pi:

I know this isn't asked to me Cecile, but the only music magazine I read is Wire, it's too expensive to subscribe to so I just buy every other issue.
  2:02pm
Marmalade Kitty:

to my ears, Paradise Lost singer sounds like Noel Gallagher in skinny leathers and long hair..
  2:05pm
Jon Billings:

Bert you rule!! now I'm in equilibrium
  2:06pm
Turkish_Weeper:

Long face of cheerlessless unto you, Albert & Jon Billings!!
  2:07pm
Cecile:

I used to like the Wire, but it's gotten so textually dense I can't even finish one any more. But then again, that could just be my deteriorating brain. But, they are thorough! Loads of artists in there.
  2:08pm
Cecile:

I know when I was reading it, my spending for CDs was ridiculous.
  2:09pm
Spike:

I'd like to take Lee Dorian's laugh in that song, mash it up with Jay-Z's "haha" and make a totally bangin' club anthem.
  2:10pm
Turkish_Weeper:

I have the Frogger's Forest of Equilibirum longbox here behind bullet proof glass!
  2:12pm
Cheri Pi:

Cecile, I was reading wire one day and I called my local record shop and asked them to order a Morton Feldman cd for me, when it arrived it was $65!! for 1 cd. I stopped doing that.
I just subscribed to Decibel, happy christmas to me.
  2:12pm
bill:

Holy cow, that Cathedral was live? Fantastic!
  2:13pm
Evan:

The Wire digital edition is only about 4 bucks a month (payable three months at a time). Plus it means you get it on time here in the US.
  2:15pm
Cheri Pi:

ask him if he would like to put out me & ceciles True Power Metal Record, its heavy & 4 sided.
  2:16pm
Cecile:

Evan, thanks!
LOL, Cheri.

Albert, I will more than happily take a Slayer Christmas flexi.
  2:16pm
Cheri Pi:

We could give you one song for a flexi only if you promised to print it on rhubarb colored vinyl.
  2:16pm
Cecile:

Or buckeye.
  2:17pm
Cecile:

all we have to do is get someone to write, perform and play the song. We have plenty of titles!
  2:17pm
jojo:

is this the guy that calls in to tom sharpling's show? pretty sure it is, same voice... diane should verify that this guy is not an inpersonator
  2:17pm
Cheri Pi:

Sparkly buckeye brown printed over marbled rhubarb red.
  2:18pm
Cheri Pi:

Albert, have your people call our people, The liner notes and thank-yous alone will take up a special issue.
  2:19pm
Cecile:

Also, if you know any true power metal bands that need a fresh and weird concept (Iced Earth was busy).
  2:22pm
Cheri Pi:

Diane, don't worry-our promo package is in the mail...
  2:39pm
Cheri Pi:

Yay Boris!!
  2:47pm
Cheri Pi:

  2:48pm
Cheri Pi:
