Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Clay Pigeon

NYC

Gerald ate his can of beans in his lonely corner. Soon, it grew dark in his house and Gerald was forced to eat his beans without seeing them. Some of them fell to the floor. He couldn't see them down there, but he could imagine them. Individual beans, cooling on the dirty linoleum. Gerald crushed one or two of them under his boot. He smiled and threw his bean can down.

Listener comments!

  6:05pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Clay!
  6:06pm
kata:

hello Clay ! listening from my desk.
  6:06pm
Clay:

Hey Matt
  6:06pm
david:

back to cassette tape, it sounds like... or perhaps just a lot of background noise...
  6:06pm
Clay:

Hi Kata!
  6:06pm
glenn:

what matt said.
  6:07pm
Danne D:

Good to chat with you Saturday Night, Sir Clay
  6:07pm
Clay:

Mostly analog.
  6:07pm
Clay:

Hey Glenn, Hey Danne
  6:08pm
Night Al:

Hi everyone. Gonna give Marley the cat a bath while I listen
  6:09pm
david:

love the analog... though I gladly appreciate the Dusty Show in all its mediums...
  6:10pm
glenn:

i think somebody at wfmu needs to do a show about cleaning out kitchen cupboards, fridges etc. i just found a bottle of 10 year old soy sauce in my pantry.
  6:11pm
Ike:

Giving a cat a bath?! That sounds like a recipe for getting cut to ribbons. Is the cat elderly or ill? Normal cats have natural cleaners in their saliva, you know.
  6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey glenn! Danne, david, Night Al, kata again!
Great story from a person ground up and thrown out by CPS.
  6:11pm
Rus:

i ll give you a million dollars if you drink it all
  6:13pm
Danne D:

YYZ as bumper music!
  6:13pm
glenn:

too late. it's down the sink.
  6:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: Thought that sounded familiar!
  6:13pm
Danne D:

@glenn that sounds like a topic to send to Andy and Frangry.

Hey Matt!
  6:15pm
glenn:

not to mention the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 opened bottles of balsamic vinegar.
  6:16pm
david:

wow, the return of "No!" - its been a while, I feel
  6:18pm
kata:

this is great that you are talking to her about this. of course, another topic not covered by other journaiists..
  6:18pm
Dan in San Carlos:

Hi Clay! Hi everyone! Chercking in from San Carlos, CA.
  6:18pm
Greg G:

Strange, I thought the reports of rape at OWS was just a right wing attempt to discredit the movement, but it looks like it was a huge problem, wow, what a huge disappointment to hear about.
  6:18pm
Clay:

TY Kata
  6:18pm
Matt from Springfield:

DC is rare in still having an ongoing Occupy camp--but that sort of has kept dialogue from moving on; the mainstream coverage is still either dismissive or amusing, and a lot of people here view them as a bunch of dropout hippies, because they're still camping.

This Tuesday, January 17 is a day of action--"Occupy Congress"! I'm hoping that can change perceptions and give a more activist bent.
  6:19pm
kata:

is it true that Adbusters was started by a Wall Street person?
  6:20pm
Clay:

J17 - I'd love to go.
  6:20pm
Ike:

Yeah @Greg G, I agree. Very depressing. Thought it was Faux News BS.
  6:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Kata, Greg: It's like someone said on the live UStream feed the morning after the Zuccotti raid--there's been less alleged rape for a community that size than any US city, any college or university--it's likely to happen anywhere.
What concerns me isn't the numbers, but the lack of attention and concern within the movement, as she just pointed out.
  6:21pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

glenn-
Who can save us from ourselves?
The spoiled condiments, the rape-prone...
basically self-obsessed America has no time
left for such issues.
Please continue to ignore Ron Paul. (He said change, not me!)
Best wishes, Mr Clay
  6:21pm
glenn:

i suspect that if it wasn't winter, ( even though it's unseasonably warm) that many if not most of the occupiers would have defied eviction orders and stayed put.
  6:22pm
Clay:

TY Persian Cab Driver.
  6:22pm
Matt from Springfield:

Rather than a Housing issue, perhaps she should talk with the Health people, who give out the condoms and stuff, and teach them of the need to get some rape kits and to handle rape allegations seriously.
  6:23pm
glenn:

adbusters is in vancouver, i don't know who founded it.
  6:23pm
david:

"a yuppie computer version of MK-ultra with hand signals" lol wow
  6:24pm
kata:

pepper spray for everyone..
  6:25pm
Danne D:

@Matt - DC is much more accustomed to ongoing protests than most cities given that it's the seat of government
  6:25pm
Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: And like I said, the camps have been a profound victory against Established powers, but it kind of holds the movement back. Now that the main OWS prevailed in occupying for 2 months, we should be "liberated", not confined to certain public spaces, but keep up these small, focused protests frequently.
  6:25pm
Greg G:

Kalle Lassen co-found Adbusters Magazine, he never worked for Wall Street, was a film-maker, author and a Canadian political activist.
  6:26pm
kata:

I just saw Vendetta last week. Was interesting, despite what's-her-face's starring role..
  6:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: True. I didn't make it to the Walking Occupation people before Thanksgiving--they came in a night earlier and left soon after due to weather. But I plan to make the 3-day weekend a 4...and observe what goes on next Tuesday at Occupy Congress. I hope they make something good of it!
  6:27pm
Greg G:

Correction, It's Kalle Lasn and not Lassen,
  6:27pm
kata:

thanks @Greg G, that rings a bell.
  6:28pm
Clay:

The Barricades Are now Down
  6:29pm
kata:

I had a moment about 10 years ago where I read every Adbusters back-issue in existence. Haven't read it in a while.
  6:30pm
Ike:

New Yorker article about Adbusters & OWS:

  6:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

This guy is very radical--he may want to go to war over this, but I want to remind him that "the tallest blade of grass is the first to get cut down by the lawnmower". The Spring Offensive seems promising when the weather improves, he's got to know that you can't battle *every* day.
  6:31pm
kata:

Wow! so cool you spoke with Amy Goodman! Two great minds meet :)
  6:31pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

Saint Amy!
  6:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

Amy Goodman! Democracy Now! Yet ANOTHER famous person to be included in The Dusty Show!
  6:32pm
Clay:

My mind was quite puny by comparison.
  6:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

Amy knows that Gandhi quote solid!
WFMU supporters will be pleased to know that this station hosted "Democracy Now! In Exile" when she was kicked out for a few months in an internal WBAI dispute.
  6:35pm
Danne D:

I kinda wonder what Clay's card looks like
  6:36pm
Greg G:

Outside her own show, you don't see or hear Amy on other media outlets, so great job on getting to ask her questions Clay, and then to hear her answers on OWS, wow!
  6:36pm
david:

WBAIX on wfmu, a chapter of history I should know but hadn't till now...
  6:36pm
Danne D:

Mitt's quote makes me contemplate what Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" would be like if hosted by Clay Pigeon.
  6:36pm
david:

suharto... another butcher...
  6:37pm
Clay:

  6:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: "It's so difficult, I don't really WANT to fire any of you, there's something great in all of you guys, but this is a game! Someone needs to move to the next round, the rest--BAM! you're gone like the late Rue McClanahan.." :)

Clay:

  6:40pm
Danne D:

I need to learn all these internet editing/design arts that I don't know :)
  6:40pm
Greg G:

@Kata— I haven't read Adbusters as much as I used to either, but did buy a summer issue that was on sale when Borders was going out of business. It's still a good magazine, but sometimes it brims with pointing out problems without offering much in terms of solutions, but I think OWS changed all that, for they have been an important part of structuring some of the initial protests.
  6:41pm
Ike:

...sounds a little muddy to me too...
  6:41pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

By far your most relevant show yet, Clay. Thanks .
Would you believe I was in Manila for the Aquino "People's Power"
revolution thing? I couldn't believe it was happening. I was wary of Catholicism, given the history. But it was transforming for me that brave people could do this, as they now have begun doing in Arab countries. Good for all of us to keep paying attention, as you do!
  6:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

Ha ha, Danne!
@Clay: I like the little bit of muddiness in the background. Really I'm more happy that your sound FX are back in the show. Analog or digital this week?
  6:43pm
glenn:

well, i think that it's good to point out problems if you don't have solutions. somebody may have a solution to a problem that they haven't thought about.
  6:43pm
kata:

I agree with you Gregg, the tone of the magazine changed. I also was turned off by how overly filled with high end imagery, became too slick for it's message. I had a job interview several years back at a magazine called 'Yes!' I liked the idea of the magazine, because it was more positive and highlighted solutions and action, but it was such an awful interview I can't bring myself to read it!
  6:44pm
david:

feel like these digital recorders sometimes overdo it by default and end up dropping off high end... maybe it is partly because we are hearing it after the cassette sound... that said, this audio sounds fine to me.
  6:45pm
Clay:

Thanks for your input guys.

Greg G:

@kata— Funny how when once your not hired by a organization that you like and relate to, it can change your perception of the org, or at least make it hard to want to hear or follow what they offer. I think that it's a natural response to have, no one likes rejection. I've had experiences like that too.
  6:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

Archives, Danne, Archives! Maybe Clay will type it out on the playlist too.

Selfish young black protestor! His thick skull hurt a cop's hand, and he has no remorse about it!!!
  6:51pm
kata:

@Gregg, it wasn't as personal as that, although I was indeed tailor-made for the job ;).. It was a sort of holier-than-thou attitude that came across when I was speaking with the editor in chief, an attitude which unfortunately does sometimes exist in the non-profit world.
  6:52pm
glenn:

clay, have you decided which 70's hair metal classic you're going to perform at hoof and mouth this year?

I accuse Shell and Chevron of practising racism against the Ogoni people because they do in Ogoni what they do not do in other parts of the world where they prospect for oil. I accuse the oil companies of encouraging genocide against the Ogoni people... The profits from oil come to Britain because it is their technology that is keeping Nigerian oil going. So they have a moral responsibility to intervene... My mission has been to inform the West of the truth of what is happening in Nigeria, which has been hidden from them. I believe if people knew they’d do something about it and stop this robbery and murder that is going on in broad daylight.

Matt, I'm from Herndon, VA not that far away. Local radio is so lame here, cept for WPFW for jazz and politics, and some WAMU shows, so having FMU available on the net is totally a saving grace for the heart and mind for us airwave refugees in the DC area.

Happy to be a librarian/archivist to WFMU shows! :D

  7:11pm
Danne D:

Ya know what would be cool? If Julie Dark called in.
  7:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

I kept trying the 209- and 200- numbers the show I called, both kept timing out. Eventually I found success at the 201-209-9368 one. I think anytime you're going to talk on the Air, it's the 209 one.

Sorry, I did not write the Botswanan view Ladies Detective series. He is a Scott, and they never know a damn thing.
But every non-Nigerian African and Paul Theroux will back me up on the Scam State idea.
Shocking that a few would want to change it, and lets hope they can!
  7:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: 1979 rock, you should play more cuts from that '79 maxell sampler or whatever, I liked the clips you've played from that one.
  7:13pm

Clay is this your band?

This is The Rollers

The Dead?
  7:16pm
Matt from Springfield:

1979, I wasn't conscious, alive, conceived or even whole--a disjointed assortment of DNA cells residing in two different people.
  7:16pm
Danne D:

Oh Journey - close.
  7:16pm
irin:

haha i had a bar mitzvah and had been tossed into foster care...insane year.

nobody wants to mess up the whole Journey vibe by calling.
  7:18pm
glenn:

for most of 1979 i was 18. i hated journey then, and i hate them now.
  7:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

Frances ex of Springfield Virginia!!!
Nice hearing you call in!
  7:19pm
kata:

even though I'm trying to boycott facebook, I got hooked on a little game on there last week: Look up the song that was #1 in your country of residence the week you were born, and share it. So fun!
  7:19pm
Danne D:

whoa that'd be something if Michelle Obama primaried President Obama!
  7:19pm
Caryn:

1979? I was being born... The Bay City Rollers had one benefit that the Beatles also had: a gay manager who understood the importance of creating an image for your band. And consequently creating fashion trends. Of course, Epstein was cool and never harassed the Beatles. The Rollers manager was a bit skeevy that way.
  7:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

Virginia is very much a Purple state--there is a mix of Republican/Democrat, conservative/liberal throughout the state, and now it swings every year a bit different.
  7:21pm
glenn:

bay city rollers facts i didn't know.
  7:22pm
Matt from Springfield:

@irin: Wow, never a dull moment in '79!
The Smashing Pumpkins portrayed it rather mellow for your experience!
  7:22pm
Caryn:

Did Journey have any singer before Perry? In their backup band days, obviously not. But was there any moment when they decided to branch out but before Perry came along that they hired a singer?
  7:22pm
Julie:

achoooooooo
  7:22pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

@glenn, thanks!
@caller, I grew up in Midlothian and I call you a not from Richmond person. You are doomed, Francis. By your dialect.

CLAY PIGEON VIRGINIA CONTINGENT REPRESENTS!
  7:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Gesundheit Jules!
  7:23pm
Caryn:

The Rollers were generally also very innocent. They didn't even drink alcohol, only milk. Bless. And all this I learned in a university class.
  7:23pm
Marmalade kitty:

as simplistic as it seems, I still get confused about Red and Blue.. In UK Red is labour- left & Blue is Conservative-right. In US Red is Republican......?
  7:23pm
Julie:

@Matt thank you
  7:23pm
Amerotrash:

The northern tier of VA (Arlington, Fairfax, etc. counties) is heavily government-employed of NGO-employed, hence overwhlemingly Democrat. The rest of the state is majority Republican, and heavily military around Norfolk in the far south. The growth in the Washinton DC and governmental areas in recent years has made VA trend more purple than it's been since the civil rights era nearly 50 years ago. Obama hopes that he can get it in the Dem column this November, but that is dicey. Who knows.
  7:24pm
frances:

Hi Matt! Yep, West Springfield High School class of 1981.
1979 I saw the Clash & by 1980 I was spending every weekend in DC seeing hardcore & punk shows . & Yes Matt, you're right, VA very Purple indeed

How are ya Julie?

  7:25pm

@MK I'm okay something in the air is making the allergies nutty. How's your night?

tempura paint. ask him if kids still eat mucilage.
  7:25pm
Danne D:

Julie!!! :D
  7:26pm
Danne D:

I wonder if they still use cray-pas in the schools
  7:26pm
frances:

@depressed Persian Cab driver: I went to VCU in the 80's and continue to do well here despite my lack of twang. I had a slightly tougher time in South Carolina but I'm super friendly & do ok
  7:26pm
Julie:

Whoever says yes to the question "Are you crabby?" Danne!
  7:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

@frances: Great! I went to magnet high school (TJHSST 2003), but West Springfield is the local HS, my friends went there. Just of curiosity, what street did you grow up on? Rivington Rd for me.
  7:27pm
Danne D:

@kitty - yes Red is for Republicans . Blue is for Democrats. They don't make our competing Congressional candidates stand together for the reading of votes btw.
  7:27pm
glenn:

sorry .tempera.

tim from champaign:

I LOVE BOHANNON!
  7:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Kitty: Graphically I still prefer red for left-leaning parties and blue for right-leaning, it's traditional and just seems to work better.

I think whoever made Red=Republican was a liberal, so that s/he could say "I'd rather be dead than RED"!
  7:30pm
frances:

@Matt: the street we lived on the longest was Barnack Dr right off Rolling Rd. Oh how I hated that area then and hate it even more now (sorry, it's the place--not you!). My mom still lives in Springfield & I take the train up to see her & various art stuff & old friends in DC. Cheers!
  7:30pm
joe E:

My favorite is shrimp tempera. mmmmmm...
  7:31pm
Curator Dave:

Tempra is awesome.
  7:31pm
Danne D:

I think Red is good for Republicans as it's the color of anger.
  7:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Kitty: I'm late at work, and will also have a late dinner--I'm going to try out a fryer I got for Xmas, fish and fresh-cut fries[chips]!
  7:31pm
Danne D:

Red is also attractive to bull.

Danne D:

I know that one :)
  7:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

@joe: When I was sick w/ the stomach bug after Xmas, I saw a cooking show that gave tips on how to make tempura right. Can't wait to try that!

disclaimer.... a totally hardcore dyke told me this joke - did you hear about tempura house?
  7:34pm
Julie:

did he just actually use the phrase "hardcore dyke?"
  7:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

Joe Zawinul wrote the tune "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", but Cannonball Adderley did a slower version, playing with Joe and giving a nice spoken intro. (Live At The Club 1966)
  7:34pm
Caryn:

Interestingly, the US red=GOP/blue=Dems colour scheme became general use only in 2000, when all the main networks used those colours for the parties. They're still unofficial colours and never adopted by the parties. Both parties did unveil that colour logos in 2010, though, so I guess they're somewhat adopting them.

My birthday is the same as Buddy Rich's :)

  7:35pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

Frances-
Fine for you to see me fail Chemistry then (80.) I was so in love with the "Fan" district! I was born in Wisconsin, so perhaps my suffering was more deserved. I still love the place and SC too. My Grands lived in Georgetown back when it was necessary to be wary of tensions. Maybe it still is, or is it my adaptive nature helping?
  7:35pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Julie: Then come on down! I think Van is moving back here as well!
@frances: Part of my greater neighborhood! Live near Village West Pool? :)
  7:35pm
frances:

@Julie: Lately we've been doing day trips to random small towns. Get on Route 1 and enjoy ~! Roanoke has the largest neon star perched on the top of a hll that's lovely in the fog. There's also miniature Graceland that some devoted nutter put together in her yard.
  7:35pm
glenn:

and yes, i did use the phrase hardcore dyke.
  7:35pm
only listener in Yewtawh:

I love the softer edge of Obama Blue
  7:36pm
Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: Dykes On Bikes! Every year in San Fran, around July! (I just missed them).

Danne D:

Buddy Rich liked to give messages of peace and love to his band members :)

My buddy has that star tatooed on his side.

@Frances I always end up in VA at night hunting for a hotel in the middle of nowhere!
  7:37pm
Julie:

@Matt oh so THAT is where Van is going
  7:37pm
glenn:

in fact, my hardcore dyke pal is a regular rider.
  7:37pm
Greg G:

kata@— I first heard WFMU while driving home from NYC in the early 90's, was totally amazed to hear that freeform radio was still alive and well. Once home, checked FMU on the internet and the rest was history, but finding Clay eventually was the gem that keeps on giving to the heart and soul.
  7:37pm
Julie:

Oh and I know he's busy, but HI CLAY! Good to see for a minute this weekend
  7:38pm
Danne D:

In Champaign folks occupy the Quad in Urbana - usually Sorority members mostly

right on Tim from Champaign!
  7:38pm
Danne D:

I have to go now.
  7:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

@frances: I like Fairfax better now than when I was growing up, I see how comparatively cultural it is, and it's proximity to DC and the whole Eastern seaboard. I still loathe the traffic and highways and strip malls though!
  7:38pm
Julie:

Bye Danne, ya workhorse
  7:38pm
Danne D:

No I don't.
  7:39pm
Danne D:

Somebody spoofin' me - oh well.

I wish we could all meet and go out for karaoke !
  7:39pm
Danne D:

Yeah ,I spend too much time here.
  7:39pm
frances:

@Depressed: The Fan is still awesome, but I'll admit that I'm surprised how little Richmond has changed since I left it 25 years ago...& being from Wisconsin or anywhere isn't a reason for scorn. There is a definite snooty Old Money South vibe here that I don't dig.
  7:40pm
glenn:

okay, now i've unearthed 12 opened boxes of various teas, and about the same number of packages of pasta.
  7:40pm
Julie:

FRED!! it was FRED!
  7:40pm
Danne D:

I work on a computer. Running stuff so I have time to type. Sorry if that bugs ya, spoofer.
  7:40pm
Julie:

@Glenn most people put sauce on pasta, not tea
  7:40pm
glenn:

no robert blake played one of the killers, i don't think truman was in the 60's film.
  7:42pm
Caryn:

We should have a second hour of Clay more often, because I'm enjoying the singing and the music in general.
Also, Barretta had one of the greatest TV theme tunes of all time. Sammy Davis Jr. getting funky!
  7:42pm
glenn:

i'm cleaning out cupboards. still.
  7:42pm
frances:

@Matt: I literally lived right across the street from Rolling Valley elementary school
I moved to (then)super dangerous 'hoods in DC in 1981 the day after I graduated (14th Street when it was still Red Light District, 12th & NY when the bus stations & boy ho's worked there) which still seems preferable to NoVa! But I am happy to be living back on the east coast again after 18 years on the west.
  7:43pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Has Clay been drinking? He sounds crazier than usual tonight.
  7:43pm
frances:

@Julie: & some of those motels look dang creepy during daylight, let alone in the middle of the night!

CLAY IS AMERICA! (yay!)
  7:43pm
glenn:

i know i said was going to send you some music, but the hard drive on my desktop pooched.
  7:43pm

It's always a snow day when Clay fills in.
  7:44pm
Danne D:

(or a hurricane)
  7:44pm
Julie:

@Frances those little VA roads are just so dimly lit.
  7:45pm
Kirsten:

Love you too, Clay. And happy birthday Gentle Tim! Not sure if Clay caught that.
  7:45pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

@frances: The Civil War is what they never got over, and why I moved back North. Not that folks in Philly are any less racist.
My sister (who graduated VCU, unlike me) waited table in the Commonwealth Club. She has some stories about that vibe, to be sure!
  7:45pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ken: 1 hr 15 mins sleep, same "drug" he walks in with every week!
@Caryn: I love the 2nd hour Clay, when we get the chance!
  7:46pm
frances:

@Julie: true dat, we've only been taking them during the day cuz we're a couple of Olds. =)
  7:46pm

  7:49pm
Danne D:

hey clay , you suck!
  7:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

Scott McKenzie Techno Karaoke!
@MKitty: Have a great night yourself!
  7:49pm
frances:

@Depressed: You're SO right about that. That history is a sinkhole in so many ways. & yeah, I hear ya bout Philly. Boston isn't a picnic along those lines either. & oh yeah, I've heard what a horror that C-Club can be. And yes, y
  7:50pm
Caryn:

Madam X only released one single and one album, so nice work finding a record, Clay! They're from Detroit, BTW. Roxy Petrucci went on to be a member of Vixen.
  7:51pm
Fred:

This SF dude likes clay singing about his regret for having the OWS shows
  7:51pm
frances:

The OWS coverage you're doing is AWESOME & I keep turning my friends on to it. It's also nice to hear you chill & just have fun like you are w/this extra hour
  7:52pm
Danne D:

occupy is over
  7:52pm
Danne D:

Hey Clay, I'm better at using commas than the spoofer
  7:53pm
Danne D:

The spoofer improved a little with that effort - then again there were no commas in the 'occupy is over' comment so I guess it wasn't that hard
  7:54pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I think the WFMU technical specialists will be able to see the IP address of the spoofer and block it.
  7:55pm
Danne D:

ya think ?
  7:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

Great show Clay!

By the way DON'T YOU DARE pull any more Archives!! I remember that from 2 hrs ago!! You will PAY if you take away those treasured and adored shows!
  7:56pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

All listeners can think, please, about this one thing;
Who do I know who has a different skin color than me.
Who do I know who has a different faith then me.
Who have I ever had over for dinner from either group?
  7:56pm
Danne D:

The "ya think ?" line was clever, spoofer. I'll give you that one.
  7:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

@genuine Danne: Quite the popular FMU personality, everyone wants to be like you! You need a trademark! :)
  7:57pm
frances:

& always remember

  7:58pm
frances:

@depressed: true & i'm happy to say my dinner table has been full & mixed =)
  7:58pm
Matt from Springfield:

This was a fun episode, glad so many others were together with us on the comment board too!

Have a great night Clay, everybody!
  7:58pm

Cheers y'all & always remember!
  8:01pm
Matt from Springfield:

Cheers Frances, Greg! Virginia loves the Dusty Show!
  8:02pm
frances:

A Richmonder told me he dug one of my WFMU shirts when I was at the grocery store. We're everywhere.....WFMU!
  8:26pm
depressed Persian cab driver:

It may or may not help. I graduated Ferrum and hence know the Roanoke Star well. We went up there to puke after the moonshine from places like Paul's BBQ and watching actual factual bluegrass and folk bands play the real stuff. It was too much to take in, so we had to throw up. Like Norman Blake, the Cardinals, and the Fire Squad when they had herself.
And yes, frances, we sure are everywhere! People like Clay make sense in this otherwise medicated society.
  8:31pm
Clay:

Remember to never forget.
  8:38pm

And never forget to remember
