Thanks a zillion Irene for the shout-out - but even more for your incredible technical wizardry once again as tech director and audio guru - and co-host - of Saturday's Golden Festival remote - it absolutely could not happen without you!

Aw, too kind Rob! It was a team effort. I want to play a couple of things we recorded a little later on the show. Andymorphic, sorry you can't find your CD of Jack. Love his stuff, and he's a lovely person too.

Sean, Bristol UK:

@Kat330. so agree, the harmonies are just fab, the track by Dead Sea Hotel last week was a knock out, any chance of something from them again in the near future, Irene

happy to have discovered rob w show last couple years. rob and irene show like a nice tea blend . herbalgoodness and a sonic feast. love the chants of music from other lands gypsy landscape. i used to live in jersey city 1959 and there were gypsies who would dance in this park on 2nd street

Irene:

I'm hoping one of these days I can have Black Sea Hotel back on the show. I ran into Corinna Snyder from that ensemble at the Golden Festival. Alas, i did not get a chance to see them perform but we did record them for a future broadcast and the Free Music Archive.
  1:52pm
Rob W:

Black Sea Hotel sounded great at the festival and we definitely will be adding that performance to the FMA. The a cappella performances are always a highlight of the Golden Festival... By the way, big thanks also to Bil Bowen for his great live mixing during the broadcast (which we're hearing now) - even though he was under the weather!

Agree with Looms about the Drum Major Instinct. Never heard that before...sure was appropriate for this show on the original air date though. Great show Irene.
