Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Cold down there the other day, Fredericks. Saw it was 57.
  6:11pm
Caryn:

Hey Clay! Man, that rhymes.
Nice mixes so far!

Clay Pigeon:

OMG you guys, I have to SKYPE in from Colorado nwxt week for Marathon. Could be a train wreck. You'll want to tune in. Premium should be good. Bonus disc!
  6:15pm
Frances:

Representing despite some horrible anti-woman legislation here in the Capital this week, hopeful as always, and love the Occupy Bed In
  6:15pm
Hacksaw:

pre-occupy wall street

Matt from Springfield:

Need visual details -- are they covered in blanket? One big one or several small ones? What are they wearing at the bed-in?
Avatar 6:15pm
Clay Pigeon:

Yes, Pharoah was in there, Fredericks. Good ear!
Avatar 6:16pm
Clay Pigeon:

I took pics, Matt. Must learn to post. Although, I like to leave things to your fervent imaginayshunz.
  6:17pm
Matt from Springfield:

Clay's Classics IV! I'm ready for it!
And I enjoyed "The Day-Glo Pew" last time, hopeful for this year's bonus disc!
  6:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

Dead Indians--Kansas' answer to Mayor Daley politics!
Avatar 6:19pm
Clay Pigeon:

Thanks Matt. You're the first to ever mention the Pew. :>)
  6:20pm
Hacksaw:

"obama should be impeached"... yeah no need to elaborate on that
Avatar 6:21pm
Clay Pigeon:

May 1st ... General Strike!
  6:22pm
Fredericks:

May 1st the REAL Labor Day!
  6:22pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: Hey, and I just noticed "Classics IV" in your premium title! :)
  6:23pm
Hacksaw:

Remind me to short Apple stock on April 30

Use no utilities either?

Avatar 6:26pm
Clay Pigeon:

Excuse sloppy edits. RS-B11W is on last legs.
  6:30pm
Hacksaw:

sweet! i've missed non-political dusty badly
  6:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: Don't listen to Hacksaw! He's just that imagined fear you state that you're losing listeners! ;)
  6:33pm
Hacksaw:

The fear is real! Unfortunately, the minority is vocal
Avatar 6:33pm
Clay Pigeon:

I wish I'd had time to edit this part.
Avatar 6:34pm
Clay Pigeon:

Occupy doesn't generally bother people unless they fear it.
  6:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

Because no one ever turned from the faith before the present day, right??
  6:35pm
Mike East:

Hey, Clay. You deserve a Peabody for that interview with Danny. You just had me sitting in the parking lot because I didn't want to miss it.
  6:35pm
Hacksaw:

i just fear preachy radio on wfmu
  6:35pm
Matt from Springfield:

The Hacksaw Is Real!!
I love the Occupy shows, but I'll freely admit that non-Occupy shows should be interspersed every so often. Like this one--it seems to be half-and-half, which is a great balance.
  6:35pm
Caryn:

May 1st general strike is gonna easy as heck over here. Everyone's hung over from the day before, and spends the day hanging out in parks or protesting anyway.
Avatar 6:36pm
Clay Pigeon:

Danny is the coolest.
  6:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Mike!
If Peabodys were given for merit...we should take Peabodys from the corporate media and redistribute them to Clay for SEVERAL great reports over the years!!
  6:38pm
Hacksaw:

@Matt... what about one dedicated occupy show a month? keeps the movement alive and keeps dusty fresh
  6:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

Take from the pool of any Peabodys given for something which was later proved an outright lie (Iraq War comes to mind immediately...)
  6:39pm
Mike East:

Agreed, Matt. I'd sign a petition.
  6:39pm
Fredericks:

Poets do have the answer! Problem is no one's asking.
  6:41pm
Fredericks:

Clay, I request you stop apologizing. You're great!
  6:42pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Hacksaw: I could do two a month, esp if there's been particularly important demonstrations...but I see an advantage with your philosophy. Clay can do Occupy interviews whenever, and issue them as a "Best Of Occupy (month)", instead of the week they were recorded.
Avatar 6:44pm
Clay Pigeon:

TY Fredericks .
  6:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Fredericks: As an insecurity-expert-through-experience, I keep telling Clay that, but at the same time I've grown to love, and almost *expect* Clay to be self-deprecating and us rushing in to reassure him!
  6:44pm
Fredericks:

Hacksaw should just dance to Whitney. "Free your ass and..."
  6:45pm
Hacksaw:

I have nothing against Occupy... I just miss the randomness of dusty.
  6:46pm
Fredericks:

Hear you Matt. Disagree. Respectfully.
  6:46pm
Matt from Springfield:

Original Dolly!
(Apparently some people like this as a wedding song..it's created a meme of "You DO know this is a breakup song, right?!"
  6:48pm
Matt from Springfield:

Now this is making me miss Betsy Nichols after Clay!! :(
  6:48pm
kat330:

@Frances [6:15] Oh, wow, just saw the news on this. WTF? A "women's health" panel in front of Congress without a solitary woman on it?!?! Clay, perhaps a future topic to cover
  6:49pm
Caryn:

@Matt: Maybe they're just hedging their bets. "Hey, if the marriage should fall apart some time in the future, remember that I'll always love you."
  6:50pm
Hacksaw:

awww... my mind will always love traditional/innocent dusty. I do miss your call-ins Fredericks... especially when you talk with Fabio
  6:50pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: Ha ha! "IF I should stay..." but remember, "I will always love you"! :)
Avatar 6:51pm
Clay Pigeon:

I miss it too, Hacksaw.
  6:52pm
Fredericks:

I traded this record for the first two Pretenders' albums, years ago.
FY clay!
  6:52pm
Frances:

this old punk still loves the Grand Funk!
  6:53pm
Fredericks:

I forgot the "I".
Avatar 6:53pm
Clay Pigeon:

This is one of my all-time favorite songs.
  6:53pm
Hacksaw:

People think I'm a hater but I'm not, Clay. After all, you've inspired me to buy albums from both Geronimo Black as well as Star Castle
Avatar 6:53pm
Clay Pigeon:

Cool, Frances.
  6:54pm
Caryn:

@Matt: well, it's just realistic, what with 50 % of marriages ending in divorce. But also, as long as the song is not the song they dance their first dance to, who cares what the lyrics are. Heck, our family's wedding mix tapes are all about having great songs and having songs that will get people excited and dancing, and those songs definitely include some less than wedding-y material (from The Smiths to Procol Harum's "Conquistador").
Avatar 6:55pm
Clay Pigeon:

Cool, Hacksaw!
  6:55pm
Mike East:

I danced with my wife to "Love you 'til the End" by the Pogues.
  6:56pm
Fredericks:

That 50% figure is only true for 70s marriages, I do believe, Caryn
Avatar 6:57pm
Clay Pigeon:

Thanks for being here everyone. I appreciate your comments, I really do. I always want to make a show you will enjoy. See you next week for Marathon! Always Remember!
  6:57pm
Hacksaw:

well... I went though a whole Tim Story phase too... which was indirectly your fault Clay
  6:57pm
Fredericks:

Now folks just don't get married!
  6:58pm
Frances:

Always remember! & thank you for bringing it, as always Clay!
  6:59pm
seang:

been digging the bowie
  6:59pm
Caryn:

Thanks for another great show, Clay!
  6:59pm
Matt from Springfield:

Your want always translates into our enjoyment, Clay!
Great show!
  7:00pm
Matt from Springfield:

Always remember, and after you hear the shows, "always reminisce" as well! :)
  8:20pm
Joe E:

I love Clay. There, I finally said it.
  10:10am
Fredericks:

Still open for comments? Very enjoyable. Thanks Clay!
  3:57pm
Matthew from Harrisburg:

Clay, EXCEPTIONAL show, as always. You are a class act and your way of showing compassion and love on the air is wonderful. Keep up the good work as always!!
