Ooh, Penderecki! How fancy!
  7:09pm
Caryn:

Oh, come on John. Penderecki is taught in 6th grade, it's not fancy... ;)
  7:11pm
kellie:

My parents got married on tax day (April 15), it was the only day my mother knew my "banker" father could not forget.
  7:12pm
the glowing one:

I'd rather have a higher wage than pay less taxes.
  7:13pm

  7:15pm

  7:15pm
Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Caryn, they didn't teach Penderecki at all in the one-room school house I attended back in the holler. :-)
  7:16pm
Ted:

In South Carolina state employees can choose to take MLK day or Confederate Memorial Day
  7:18pm
Caryn:

"Jefferson Davis’ Birthday, also known as Jefferson Davis Day, is a state holiday in Alabama on the first Monday of June and in Florida on June 3 each year." Also, here's a list of state-specific Confederate holidays: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederate_Memorial_Day
  7:19pm
Caryn:

John, they did at our half-trailers/half-house school.
  7:20pm

I wonder if you have to replace the sand from time to time...
  7:20pm

Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Caryn, when I was in college I learned how to pronounce "Krzysztof Penderecki." (!) Thank God for higher education . . .
  7:26pm
miss cheri:

hey there caryn--what's up? how you been?
  7:29pm
Caryn:

Heh, John. Yeah, Penderecki was 5th or 6th grade, then in 7th grade we got introduced to Schoenberg's 12-tone technique. In 8th grade, X-mas songs in Swahili, and proper bass-playing technique... Hmm, am I to infer that our music lessons were a bit different from most people's? Maybe it's just national differences?
  7:32pm
Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

When I think about some of my middle school music teachers, I think that I would like to play some early Schoenberg for (or at) them!
  7:32pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Don't forget tax protester Gordon Kahl. In college, my buddies would say "I'll Kahl you later." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Kahl
  7:33pm
miss cheri:

well have a good night caryn,,,see you later!
  7:33pm
Ralphine:

Is this language anything like Esperanto?
  7:35pm
Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Wouldn't it be better to get legal personhood stripped from corporations rather than giving up legal personhood ourselves? Just askin' . . .
  7:36pm
Ralphine:

I can't remember who wrote my favorite poem, or even the entire poem, but it has something to do with a man from Nantucket.
  7:36pm
Hream:

This sounds exactly like the Time Cube ramblings
