  12:24pm Hank:

Hello ? It's only time & a half at weekends and that's if your're lucky.
  12:25pm jan:

Ahh- Jean-Pierre Rampal, the tasteful music of the 1960s that
was enjoyed by hippies and their parents alike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Charlie:

No longer a question mark...
Greetings to 1MT, Yodelin' Kenny, Kay (comin' up sometime in the show), Van, thanks for Paying Attention, Hank, and Jan!
  12:32pm Hank:

What size were Fred Astaire's feet, anyone?
  12:33pm Van in DC:

Lovely voice. Google image Teresa...wow, lovely lady as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Charlie:

One of the most beloved Chinese pop singers of all time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Charlie:

Small feet, Hank?
  12:36pm Hedley Lamarr:

Hank: Bigger than Douglas Fairbanks - I still don't know how he did such fantastic stunts with such little feet...
  12:38pm listener james from westwood:

^^^beat me to it. well played.
  12:39pm Errol Flynn:

You know what they say about the size of a man's feet! No really, what do they say?
  12:40pm Hank:

Charlie, have you seen the cover of All of Us the CD that this track comes from. This CD is a comp?
  12:46pm Van in DC:

  12:56pm jan:

sugar boogies- loving it.
  1:01pm listener james from westwood:

never thought about "manic depression"'s meter before. good call.
  1:12pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello Charlie! ( &all)
Can't get the GTDS @ work but looks like a great playlist. I remember when that Teresa Teng cassette was a new acquisition of yours. Saw her in Avery Fisher Hall approx 30 years ago. Not my usual artist or milieu but great nonetheless. I'ii catch the audio on the archives. Interesting juxtaposition with the live Kamikaze!
  1:13pm Gary Mitchell:

wonder what other gems Komeda would have come up with had he lived beyond 37
  1:14pm ndbob:

one of my favorite Yardbirds songs here
  1:14pm northguineahills:

Good point, Gary.
  1:16pm Carmichael:

Hiya Charlie, Hi listeners, hi Yardbirds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Charlie:

Hi Kevin!
Yah, good Q, Gary!
Hi NGH!
Hi Carmichael!
gotta find another record to play now...
  1:19pm ndbob:

hi Carmichael!
  1:28pm Gary Mitchell:

now we're waltzing, baby!
  1:28pm northguineahills:

I like the constrictions of this theme. Fun set!
  1:29pm Doug S.:

Charlie, you're officially 3/4 of the way through the show. Do we win a prize!
  1:32pm ndbob:

Ah the extremely rare Stravinsky to Porter and Dolly segue!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Charlie:

Hi Doug!
Porter & Dolly are the prize!
  1:33pm Carmichael:

I was just mentioning last night how I haven't heard anything from 20/20 in 20 years. Timely, Charlie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Charlie:

lol, Bob! Not in busy-doing-nothing-land...
  1:33pm Laura L:

I've been too busy waltzing in my office all this time but am taking a breather to say nice nice show...
  1:34pm Doug S.:

Busy Doing Gobsmacking Segues is too unwieldy a show name.
  1:40pm northguineahills:

Oh, it's Vicki!
  1:41pm still b/p:

I've just learned that Stravinsky was NOT actually arrested in Boston....shortly after I learned, in a not musically relevant web-bounce, that L. Frank Baum called for the complete extermination of Native Americans.
  1:41pm listener james from westwood:

this is one of my fave plu cuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Charlie:

Hi Laura L! Thanks fer sayin' hi!
yes, ngh, with a cast of thousands!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Charlie:

hey still b/p, what's that about Igor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Charlie:

"Take a stress pill and think things over..."
  1:47pm still b/p:

His arrangement of Star Spangled Banner did get a warning about a possible fine from Boston cops in 1944, but a circulating mug shot from a few years earlier, that might actually be a visa application pic, reinforced a myth about him being arrested for the performance. I happened to see the picture and the claim when I was checking on him in a different direction.
  1:47pm Michael:

Open the pod bay door Hal...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Charlie:

Hey aren't we free in this country to arrange the Star Spangled Banner however we damn please? Isn't that in the Constitution or something?
  1:51pm still b/p:

  1:56pm ndbob:

excellent show as always Charlie!
  1:56pm Carmichael:

My dad is still royally pissed off about Jose Feliciano's version.
  1:57pm Gary Mitchell:

a real chaz fest
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Charlie:

Thanks everyone for tuning in today -- see you next week!
xox,
-- c
  1:59pm Michael:

Thanks charlie - have a good week!
  2:00pm Van in DC:

Thanks Charlie! Great show except this last thingie (for me :) )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Charlie:

Yeah, Van, that did get out of hand there!
  2:04pm still b/p:

I like the notion of mashing up parts of 2001. Dr. Floyd could talk to one of the ancestral hominids on the picture-phone in the space station instead of just his daughter.
  3:41pm Parq:

Enjoying the show on the archives. Really impressed that your live listeners got through the entire Death Of Hal without any references to Dave the Spazz. Of course, I had to come along and spoil it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Charlie:

It was hard for me not to mention it, Parq! I can't hear Hal saying "Dave, Dave" without thinking it's going to go into that Louie Louie riff.
