	12:58pm Cecile: he was a great singer. The songs were derivative, but had a real spark to them.
	12:58pm Banks: The tragedy was that lighting rig that fell on him, and Teddy Pendergrass' car wreck.
	12:59pm Cecile: Not Donny Hathaway jumping off a ledge, or Billy Stewart getting killed in a car crash or Tami Terrell passing away? That's right, banks!

	1:02pm Banks: So, how does Prince figure into all of this? He seems to be an amalgamation of all the above. Yet, like Bowie, at some point he stopped being a vanguard. Or maybe the media just creates the story arc. Who knows. Great show Duane!

	1:09pm fred: @Banks: Prince has done genius stuff, and some crappy stuff too. I got really tired of his act a looong time ago, but a friend was part of his online community -- which he backstabbed -- so I got to hear a lot. He's a really great musician, if anything too shrewd a businessman.
	1:09pm Cecile: Exactly, banks. And he did loads of great stuff after that. Duane, you and Clay might want to consider doing a fundraiser of floaty Cali pop from the 60s. He digs up some gems, too.

	1:12pm Banks: Curtis did an impressive take on "We've Only Just Begun" which was quite a brave thing to do in the 70's. I really feel he was one of the greatest ever. Just that prisitine falsetto alone, and those slinky Fender Thinline Tele guitar passages. Damn.
