Chuck:

Just a little off the top please...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03am
Meghan:

morning chuck!
  6:03am
Matt from Springfield:

Morning Meghan!
HAIR! This is a *gorgeous* one, I bet you got tons of hippie stuff to go with this theme?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04am
Meghan:

Morning Matt! Amazingly, not as many as one would think!
  6:06am
Matt from Springfield:

I was hoping "Grateful Dead" would pop in here in English!

I guess there's enough songs about hair, though all the ones I have are hippie stuff!
  6:07am
hamburger:

how come human being mostly have hair on head only?
  6:10am
Matt from Springfield:

There's little tiny hairs all over the body--the question is, why does HEAD hair grow the longest?
  6:10am
Chuck:

Absolutely NO Mullets!
  6:11am
Dave B:

The naked ape
  6:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Surprisingly punk do in the upper left, particularly if you then dye it!
  6:17am
Chuck:

What no 'fro's?!
  6:17am
Dave B:

Whats wrong with mullets? When prepared correctly they are quite tasty. I should have used them in the fish theme show
  6:18am
Dave B:

I did leave two good 'fro songs on drop box
  6:18am
Andrea on the M62:

Hi Meghan...looking forward to the hair theme today! Great Thursday treat away from the limpix!
  6:19am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Good morning gang!
  6:19am
Chuck:

Fish is always good, Dave....
  6:21am
Matt from Springfield:

Naturally had to play this America!

Good morning BGZ, Chuck, hamburger, Dave B, Andrea, and all the gang!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am
Meghan:

Thanks Andrea! Morning Badguy and Dave!
  6:23am
Chuck:

Dolly Parton at 16 perhaps?
  6:26am
Matt from Springfield:

"Your Roots are showing, and I'm not talking about your music!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27am
Meghan:

mine totally are!
  6:28am
listener scott:

Geez, if Hank Penny is this potentially violent over fake blondes just imagine what he'd threaten to do if she had fake boobs.
  6:29am
hamburger:

one shudders to think
  6:31am
Chuck:

Makes me think I should dye my hair purple once again. It's a much more interesting color than gray....
  6:32am
Elwyn:

The prodigal listener returns!

Didn't feel like gym tonight!

Had an interesting day. Feel really NOT depressed but I'm about to be expelled from my roller derby league!
  6:32am
Matt from Springfield:

@Chuck: "Technicolor head", would be good for the "head" show (if such a song existed...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33am
Meghan:

Elwyn!!!!
  6:33am
Matt from Springfield:

Hooray non-depression!
But oh noes! Why are you expelled from roller derby?
  6:34am
Caryn:

Dammit, missed the start because I had to go to the tax office... Given that I made about 4 grand in wages last year, I wouldn't exactly be high priority.

And now the stream won't work. Aarghhh! But I love this movie!
  6:34am
Chuck:

Okay, Elwyn, what did you do to get exspelled? Something obnoxious I hope!
  6:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I can't imagine what one malfeasance one must commit to be expelled from a roller derby league. :\
  6:35am
Dave B:

Let me know when you want it for detention
  6:36am
Caryn:

Man, I know all the words to this song... Even the spoken-word bits.
  6:36am
Matt from Springfield:

It's much cheaper to take children to the veterinarian than the pediatrician.
  6:36am
Elwyn:

I'm assuming noone will find this comments page. A new league in the area made a questionably offensive logo, put it on Facebook, and I've repeatedly offered constructive criticism of it and subsequently criticised the leadership for not having foresight to vet it OR to remove it... then criticised their group mentality... then they complained to my league. Disciplinary hearing on Tuesday!

I hope they fire me! It's not like I'm getting paid! Ha ha!
  6:36am
Dave B:

BGZ/Elwyn - I can think of a few. Got any eye bleach?
  6:37am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I loved "Just Say Julie."
  6:37am
Elwyn:

@Meghan: better be songs about redheads and fiesty fakers! Please talk about Soren from MTV!
  6:37am
Matt from Springfield:

I'm liking Julie Brown! And have heard of that album/movie.
Must check the rest of her out!
  6:38am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I used to think it was George Harrison too. It has a certain "My Sweet Lord" feel to it.

Bath salts!
  6:39am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Oh noes...666 was the math answer.
  6:39am
Matt from Springfield:

Totally ripped us off! No Kennibalism!
  6:40am
Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: Yes, a "My Sweet Lord"/All Things Must Pass vibe to it.
  6:42am
Caryn:

Of course, the "brunette in yellow" in question went on to shoot her boyfriend, so maybe best to admire her from afar, a la Mancini.
  6:45am
Dave B:

"My Sweet Lord" = "He's So Fine" and begat "This Song"
  6:46am
Matt from Springfield:

@Elwyn: At least you stayed true to yourself. Screw the haters!
  6:46am
Elwyn:

It all started from this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pbptZBJzVj8/T7jZSpqKeCI/AAAAAAAAB58/3TpskcLGyWo/s1600/photo-713726.JPG
  6:47am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I seem to recall there being a lawsuit over "My Sweet Lord" copying "He's So Fine." I do not recall the outcome.

@Elwyn: Well they sure don't leave anything to the imagination...
  6:50am
Matt from Springfield:

Ah, this was Al Jolson. This is an ancient standard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50am
Meghan:

wow! That is a graphic logo. You even made Nick go- oof!
  6:50am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: Lots of potential to oh-fend with that logo. Aside from that something about the design doesn't look quite right, specifically where the skates are making contact with the face.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51am
Meghan:

Bonjour Adam!
  6:51am
Matt from Springfield:

Billy Bragg! Talking With The Taxman About Poetry!
  6:52am
Caryn:

Didn't talk about poetry with the taxman today. Darn! I obviously missed a golden opportunity there.
  6:52am
Elwyn:

So far, I'd say blondes have more fun based on this set and the last. :-) (especially when not violently assaulted by sporting gear)
  6:52am
Dave B:

And they'd be expensive as hell to print as T-Shirts.

Keep it simple, stupid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53am
Meghan:

Yeah Badguy..... it looks like she's doing it to herself....
  6:56am
Caryn:

That'll be the new cover version of "Georgy Girl": "Hey there, Average Girl..."
  6:56am
Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: Darn it! And it's half a year away before I have that opportunity in the US!
  6:56am
Dave B:

poutine!
  6:57am
Elwyn:

@Dave: As I say, i'd hate to be a man wearing that shirt. Just makes me think of domestic violence. Bound to offend somebody. Bound to get a slap in the face.
  6:57am
Matt from Springfield:

Hey man, let's listen to Meghan in the Head Shop...
  6:57am
Caryn:

@Matt: aww... well, maybe you'll get audited. That's a pleasant thought, isn't it?

Naah.
  6:58am
Caryn:

There's a thought, Matt. Meghan, do the the "head" show as a remote from the local head shop!
  6:59am
Caryn:

Hank Penny sure has a lot of opinions about women's hair colour.
  6:59am
Dave B:

What's the matter with domestic violins? They're more affordable than the imported variety.
  6:59am
Elwyn:

Lots of songs about heads. Sending 55 via Drop Box!
  6:59am
Adam from Montreal:

Have fun in my city! Try the Scandinavian poutine at Cafe Ellfsen if you haven't already!

What's this parking lot party?
  7:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Hank Penny twin spin! How many other shows can say that!
  7:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Aren't you a redhead, Meghan?
  7:01am
hamburger:

a possible Hank Penny triple dip? Is it possible? Can it be done? Lord only knows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01am
Meghan:

Adam- it's the studio for the Godspeed Guys. www.facebook.com...
  7:01am
Caryn:

Hang on, Hank says both blondes and brunettes cheat on you, while redheads are faithful? Well, that goes against the whole cultural stereotype of redheads being wild and sexually adventurous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am
Meghan:

And Scandinavian Poutine? What is in it?
  7:04am
hamburger:

I suspect Hank Penny eventually settled for a gal with Alopecia
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04am
Meghan:

Matt- I am a redhead.... but the very unnatural kind!
  7:05am
Caryn:

My hair changes colour by itself, so I'm not sure what I'd call myself originally. Probably a redhead.
  7:05am
Adam from Montreal:

Danish cheese, scallions, amazing gravy and... Wait for it...

Swedish meatballs!! Corner of beaubien and st denis
  7:06am
Matt from Springfield:

That explains it! Your Adoption Gallery photo is very copper red, but at the H&M your hair appeared darker. Red hair is cool though, keep it up!
  7:07am
Elwyn:

@Caryn: I find that strange how that happens. As an Asian, mine stays black unless it's a few stray white ones then it'll turn grey with age.
  7:07am
Matt from Springfield:

@Adam: Good Lord! That's like American state fair cuisine! Are they required to post their calories and fat in Montreal? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am
Meghan:

ha! Yeah.... I have to make up for my parents couldn't give me. I should have been born with it....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am
Meghan:

@Adam- woah! that is crazy!
  7:09am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I used to use burgundy hair dye which made my hair auburn with burgundy highlights.

Geez...That was nearly 25 years ago.
  7:09am
Caryn:

@Elwyn: yeah, I was born with black hair. In a few months, I had bright carrot orange hair. By the time I was 3, I had dark brown hair, then it turned lighter, until I was a blonde by the time I was 12. After I started dying it, it hair seems to have darkened again.
  7:10am
Adam from Montreal:

This is Quebec! Mais non! The calories you don't know about can' hurt you.

I can't copy from the app.. what's ze venue?
  7:11am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I had red hair when I was born. Blonde by five. Brown by my teens. Every now and then I'll find a hair that's red at the end, blonde in the middle and brown at the bottom. What the eff?

  7:14am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I'm planning on getting a pretty drastic haircut by the end of the month. I just can't decide on a style or how short I'm going to go.
  7:14am
Elwyn:

@Caryn: I was thinking of how caucasians' hair gets darker when not shampood.
  7:14am
Matt from Springfield:

Hamburgers have lettuce though, right? :)
  7:15am
Matt from Springfield:

WOW! Meghan-Julie-4AD-Athon! Excellent!!! Sounds fun!
  7:16am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I will be donating my hair to Merkins of Hope, though. So at least that much is decided.
  7:17am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Is Nina going to cry during this song?
  7:17am
Matt from Springfield:

Mmm, didn't know Nina sang a version of this.
  7:17am
Dave B:

@elwyn - grease/oils

@BGZ - cue Bachman Turner Overdrive "Merkin Woman"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19am
Meghan:

@Adam- nice! See you there!
  7:19am
Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ 7:16: :P
@Elwyn: That's the case with my light brown hair--grease bogs it down and when clumped together, all the pigment is concentrated, I would think. When hair is wet it's also darker, until it dries and hairs separate.
  7:21am
Elwyn:

@Meghan: Make sure you post all the album covers for the 4AD show!

@Matt & @caryn: Hair is interesting!

The widest array of drugs I have ever seen in my life was in a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds dressing room in 1994. They each had gallon food storage bags full of smaller bags of assorted pills and powders.
  7:25am
George Carlin (from the grave):

I'm aware some stare at my hair.
In fact, to be fair,
Some really despair of my hair.
But I don't care,
Cause they're not aware,
Nor are they devonaire.
In fact, they're just square.

They see hair down to there,
Say, "Beware" and go off on a tear!
I say, "No fair!"
A head that's bare is really nowhere.
So be like a bear, be fair with your hair!
Show it you care.
Wear it to there.
Or to there.
Or to there, if you dare!

My wife bought some hair at a fair, to use as a spare.
Did I care?
Au contraire!
Spare hair is fair!
In fact, hair can be rare.
Fred Astair got no hair,
Nor does a chair,
Nor nor a chocolate eclair,
And where is the hair on a pear?
Nowhere, mon frere!

So now that I've shared this affair of the hair,
I'm going to repair to my lair and use Nair, do you care?

You have hair underwear?
  7:33am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Meghan: He was supposedly clean. It was post-hardcore junky phase. He was fairly thin. I saw him a few years later and he looked healthier [well...as healthy as Nick Cave is capable of looking] and seemed more lucid.

I wonder if the "I Hate Men" album title refers to the "Kiss Me Kate" number? Which, of course, has the line "He may have hair upon his chest, but sister, so does Lassie." Classic.

Ah, "Can't Stop the Music", that masterpiece of cinema featuring Steve Guttenberg and Bruce Jenner...
Actually own the soundtrack on vinyl.

Having watched "Can't Stop the Music" in a film institute cinema during Pride Week, I feel like John Waters' line about his early movie audiences applies. Namely that you can easily tell who in the audience are gay and straight based on who laughs at which jokes.

I wasn't going to say anything, Meghan... Mainly because I've been overly spelling-nazi-ish on comments boards before.

Caryn:

Considering the crappy album covers I've seen, that is nowhere near the worst. Fits the title, though.

I've been pondering going to see The Who's Quadrophenia show in Oklahoma City. That's the closest the tour is coming to Dallas.

@BGZ: well, we never got those here, but clearly she was known for them too. I also liked her in "Murder by Death". That was a bit of an odd movie. Kinda up and down, but good cast.
