damn fine way to kick it off, Ted
Avatar 3:03pm
Ted:

Howdy Boogie.
  3:04pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Ted!
Very fine way to kick it off indeed! Scorsese's "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" also began with this song, played by the title character's son while zoned out to Mott. Such a great incorporator of rock music into his soundtracks.
  3:04pm
Roger:

Who does this Giant Man song? I have been looking for it for years!
  3:06pm
Tom:

When I lived in SF back in the 70s, I went to a show at Winterland that headlined Mott the Hoople and opened with Joe Walsh and Barnstorm. Joe Walsh played three encores, upstaging Ian Hunter, who didn't get any!
  3:09pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Roger,
That song is Fabio's theme song--you're listening to the WFMU main stream, this is the Ichiban stream. His playlist isn't open yet, but in a few minutes you should be able to find the link on the homepage.

Ted:

Thanks Folks, glad you're all there.
  3:27pm
Richard D:

Hey Ted! Nice show. The Things I Used to Do is the most covered blues song ever. Guitar 'Eddie Jones' Slim is the man.
Avatar 3:28pm
Ted:

Slim Is the Man!
  3:45pm
Adam from NC:

Can we hear some Orbison? Maybe "It's Over"?
Avatar 3:51pm
Ted:

I didn't bring that one today, but I'll play you another Roy Orbison tune.
  3:56pm
Euclid Joe:

This set is prepping me for my next trip to NOLA in another week.
  3:57pm
Matt from Springfield:

You know I was thinking of this when the last song was playing! Must have both come from Ernie's label, with the similar rhythms.
Avatar 4:00pm
Ted:

Hey Joe, welcome aboard.
  4:01pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Euclid Joe: Sounds great--also play some Dave Bartholomew, Fats Domino and Frankie Ford, to really get you into the mood!
  4:04pm
Euclid Joe:

I think we're doing a Jessie Hill mural on the store. ROCK!
  4:06pm
Matt from Springfield:

Record store Euclid Joe! Awesome, I'm a proud collector of vinyl! If I ever go to St. Louis or New Orleans I would remember to stop and shop there!
  4:06pm
Debbie D:

I love Euclid Records!!
  4:15pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Debbie!

The Butterflys! "One Kiss Can Lead To Another", that was the name of a good girl group comp.
  4:25pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, very country rhymes from Terry Allen!
  4:28pm
Adam from NC:

Hell Yeah Terry Allen!
  4:28pm
Debbie D:

Hey Matt. I watched Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore AGAIN last week....
  4:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

Great film, and soundtrack of course. I first saw that this summer, for all the "guy" movies Scorsese's done, that shows he's also good at telling a woman's story. And of course, also introduced Marty to a young Jodie Foster!
  4:46pm
Tom:

YES! The Blasters rule!
  4:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

P.F. Sloan, the man himself!
Avatar 4:57pm
Ted:

Indeed!
  5:03pm
Matt from Springfield:

All right! Another great show Ted! Thanks!
Avatar 5:07pm
Ted:

Thanks, Matt. See you next time...
