Listener comments!

  7:02pm
bummer:

this show reminds me of the red green show...sorry, but nothing even remotely funny/clever. oh well
  7:04pm
Miffed Listener:

I know you're doing maintenance, but does that mean the podcast is going to have dead air as well?
  7:04pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Hey folks, doing some work on the stream tonight. Might go down or get wonky, but the radio signal and archive will be unaffected.
  7:06pm
Miffed Listener:

Thanks, I'm glad to hear the archive will be okay. Last week's had a NWS alert and this seemed like a troubling trend for a show that's just returning to the airwaves.
  7:09pm
Alix:

I like this show. It's not often LOL funny, but it's often nice, gentle true and surreal funny. :)
  7:13pm
Devin Gristlewater:

That storm was pretty crazy business. My umbrella was about as useful in it as an old banana tied to a stick with a tube sock.
  7:13pm
DPCD:

If not for Canadian humor, music, free military support and now energy delivered in an efficient and cheerful way over several decades now, we would all be much worse off. Lets all thank Canada for being our one good neighbor! If you don't get Red, Great Big Sea, Neil, Trailer Park Boys, Gordon Lightfoot, Second City, Nardwhar, or any of it, that's okay.
But guess where the electricity in New York mostly comes from? Quebec! Now that is funny.
  7:14pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Drummer ran long -- hi high folks!
  7:14pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

'Electricity comes from other planets.' Hello, all!
  7:14pm
Devin Gristlewater:

I hear Nardwuar generates 78% of all the world's electricity.
  7:15pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

First thing I heard was "I won't get to play with my own bones."
  7:15pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Hiya Watercorns!
  7:17pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Howdy, Mr. Gristlewater!
  7:18pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

Greets, Devin!
  7:18pm
chris m.:

love the show - so funny as always!
  7:19pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

"It's mad, it's gay, the lusty month of May!"
  7:21pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Did anyone here know that APPARENTLY ants are actually a type of wasps?! Found this out last week, still surprised (makes sense when you look at them, but I never made the connection). Also, Bees!
  7:22pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

So maybe that's where all the bees went!
  7:23pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

Of course, the information was hidden in front of us all this time: White Anglo Saxon Protest Ants.
  7:25pm
Devin Gristlewater:

The Wisconsin Association of School Personnel Administrators?
  7:27pm
Mike East:

@Philo - well played!
  7:28pm
Buzz Vermouth:

Give Buzzland Back to the Bees!
  7:28pm
Mike East:

and thanks for the fun fact, Devin. I was not aware.
  7:28pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

Hearty hello, Mike!
  7:29pm
DPCD:

Get ye some rennet in ya man. Be a cheese so you may tolerate the cheese.
  7:29pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

Phase IV is upon us, I reckon.
  7:29pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Hey, Mike! Saw you write you'd been putting together baby furniture over the weekend. Sweet! Every day it's a gettin' closer....
  7:29pm
Mike East:

good evening, to ye
  7:30pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Hello hi there, Mike!
  7:31pm
Steely Dan:

@Buzz Vermouth: You know I'm through with you.
  7:31pm
Mike East:

it sure is! They have a baby pool goin' at work. Saw another ultrasound this morning. Everything looks good.
  7:31pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Ahahahahaheeheeheeho. I have been waiting since high school to hear him sing that, and I didn't even know it.
  7:32pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Never asked, Mike, but I'm assuming this is your first?
  7:35pm
Danne Duckcaller:

Hi Folks - Been busy at the workplace here so I haven't been able to tune in.
  7:35pm
Mike East:

My first, my wife's second. So I've been raising a step child from age 3 to 7, but this will be my first time with a tiny little baby that can't even lift its own head.
  7:35pm
Buzz Vermouth:

call me back again
  7:35pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Hiya Double D, hope things are going well for ya this week!
  7:35pm
Danne Duckcaller:

Wonder if Mike'll pick a good name including Gristle or Water or Gristlewater for the little one
  7:37pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Would that make it all of our spiritual child?
  7:37pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Yo, Mr. Duckcaller!
  7:37pm
Mike East:

I'll let you know what we settle on Danne...probably no Gristle, but the middle name may be Rain, which I love the sound of...and that's close to water I spose.
  7:37pm
Devin Gristlewater:

Gristlethorp Hearty East
  7:38pm
Steely Dan:

@Buzz: Can't. Rikki lost the number.
  7:38pm
Mike East:

I may just name it Wfmu Dot Org East
  7:38pm
Copper Still Moonshine:

Is this a good name?
  7:39pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

"Git you a copper kettle / Git you some copper coil / Cover with ??? corn mash / And never more you'll toil"
  7:40pm
Devin East Gristlewater:

@Mike: I think we have a winner. Unless there's a law prohibiting website URLs as names. In which case, we'll have to petition for them to amended it for you.
  7:40pm
Rubber Watch Water:

Is this a good name?
  7:40pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

@Mike Dot may be a salvageable part from that, otherwise you'll be constantly talking to doggies and cows.
  7:41pm
Buzz Vermouth:

you know my name look up the number
  7:41pm
Udder D. Avidcorn:

First time tuning in to Hearty, this is.. quite brilliant.
  7:42pm
Devin East Gristlewater.com:

Valid point, Philo. Though that might make the child the heir to the WFMU kingdom.
  7:43pm
Devin Gristlewater:

I time traveled backwards and lost the rights to that domain. Welcome home, Udder D. Avidcorn!
  7:43pm
dale:

rest poor string bean's soul......
  7:44pm
Devin Gristlewater:

(A web domain, in case that was not clear. I have not and most likely never be able to speak to both cows and dogs).
  7:45pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

I've always been able to, but when they talk back it just sounds silly.
  7:45pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Philo's on a roll tonight -- he can take up my slack.
  7:45pm
Danne Duckcaller:

@Mike was that a hint - perhaps Settlewater?
  7:47pm
DPCD:

Absolutely not boring, I say, Udder. This is nutritious in a way... one's soul needs refreshment and where else to get it better than here?
  7:48pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

I think many of us in the FMU community are in the same tribe, Hearty.

Here's a SCOTS pic very apropos to the Hearty hour. This was in our backyard:

  7:56pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Or a possum under a birdbath basin....
  7:56pm
DPCD:

Forgive me please for saying the stream of consciousness thing. You are more than that, obviously, Hearty, call it whatever you wish. Your own style...
  7:58pm
Mike East:

ok, I'm gonna try and get outta here. nice chatting, folks!
  7:58pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

  7:59pm
Philo C. Gristlecorn:

Night, Mike! And everyone else, too!
  7:59pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

S'long Mr. East!
  7:59pm
Jasper B. Milquerusk:

Sorry for the stream interruption earlier; hope it's all sounding swell now, and as a partial compensatory bonus, this episode's archives should sound as good as possible, having been through fewer transmogrifying pipes and/or or tubes on their way to the archive servers.
  7:59pm
Honey U. Kettlewater:

Yep, all the best to y'all!
