Eating dinner here in Chicago, enjoying the new music. Thanks for putting it out there!
Avatar 10:19pm
Dave M.:

Thanks, folks. And thanks for checking in. It was really unusually quiet there for a while. Just want to be sure people can actually hear us.
  10:19pm
Parq:

Checking in, David. Really psyched to hear that Kurt landed So Percus for his show this fall. I mentioned on his playlist last spring that my kid went to (has since graduated from) Bard, where they are resident, and he posted back that he was hoping to get them on his show come autumn. Really hoping some of that set will make it onto the FMA.

Glasgow, Chicago, Michigan—great.

Listening from Melbourne, Australia. Its about lunch time and I'm working at home. Thanks for the soundtrack to help the time move.
Avatar 10:21pm

Yeah, good for him. They're a great group, and his show is perfect for them.
  10:23pm
Droll:

I missed the first 60 minutes and now it looks like I'm gonna miss the next 90 also. Hoorah archives!

Hello, Melbourne! Thanks for checking in. I hope the show works during lunchtime. I only hear it late Sunday night, of course.
Avatar 10:24pm
Dave M.:

@Droll: Thanks.

DavidD:

Doing early morning work, listening from Belgium. Great tunes to slowly get up to speed.
Avatar 10:30pm
Dave M.:

Merci beaucoup, M. David. Where in Belgium? (Or maybe the Flemish part, not French?)
  10:33pm
Chop Scott:

Listening in Brooklyn!
  10:34pm
DavidD:

Flemish part in a town near Antwerp so it's Dank u
  10:34pm

I agree with DavidD, but I get up to speed a little later in the day :P

Ike:

91.1 sounds good in northern NJ.
Avatar 10:42pm
Dave M.:

@DavidD: Cool. I used to know quite a few words of Dutch, but it's fading. "Tot Ziens"?
  10:42pm
Parq:

I'm in the Flatiron District, by the way.
Avatar 10:43pm
Dave M.:

Hey, Scott from Brooklyn!
Avatar 10:43pm
Dave M.:

@Parq: Radio or internet?
Avatar 10:44pm
Dave M.:

(Not sure how good our signal is in Flatiron. Lots of tall buildings around there.)
  10:47pm
DavidD:

Yes that is goodbye. But I also speak French and some German. The benefits of living in a small country with multiple official languages
Avatar 10:50pm
Dave M.:

Right. And in my experience people in the NL speak English as well as people in the US.
  10:57pm
DavidD:

English comes in through all the media. But i enjoy reading books in the original language so i pick up my vocabulary from there.

The funny thing i observed is when you hear Dutch people speak English a lot of Dutch is used when they don't recall the English word. I think that must sound very foreign to a native speaker.
Avatar 11:05pm
Dave M.:

I've spent a lot of time in Amsterdam, and my funny story is this: I would walk up to someone on the street to ask directions, and I'd say, "Do you speak English?" And every time, they'd say, "Just a little." And then they'd speak perfect English.

Parq:

Wow, hearing the Stones on FMU on a Sunday night twice in one month. The wonder of it all.
Avatar 11:06pm
Dave M.:

Did I play them, or was it someone else? I can't remember. (But I've always liked this song.)
  11:07pm
12539:

Good show so far, Dave, but you may be over the 2% rock and roll limit this evening.
Avatar 11:09pm
Dave M.:

@12539: Yeah, I'm afraid so. I'll have to play three hours of solid noise next week.
  11:11pm
DavidD:

That is strange Dutch people aren't known for their modesty in these parts. My first reaction was then you probably met a belgian or a tourist.
Avatar 11:12pm
Dave M.:

Maybe I intimidated them.
  11:15pm
Parq:

Dave, a couple of weeks ago, Therese kicked it off with "Can't You Hear Knocking" with that brilliant instrumental second half.
Avatar 11:18pm
Dave M.:

@Parq: I think I missed that. It was probably the week I was off.
Avatar 11:18pm
Dave M.:

...but I approve.
  11:54pm
12539:

Thanks as always, Mr DJ.
Avatar 11:58pm
Dave M.:

Thanks for listening.
