Just want to report that about 30 minutes ago, I felt and felt fully my first earthquake ever. A good startling house-shaking boom with a lingering sound and mild tremor after. Didn't know if something blew up or got hit outside or something blew in the basement...but then suspected it was a quake and it's been confirmed. Centered about 25 miles from here and measured at 4.5.

Is there some initiation ritual or greeting card or drink that goes with a first quake?
  7:54pm
northguineahills:

There was just a 4.6 in Maine a minute ago.

Outside of Japan, The only earthquake I've ever had felt was the VA last year.

Cumbia should be spelled w/ a 'K' more often, in my opinion.
  8:05pm
still b/p:

I seem to have lost the only disc with a few cumbia tracks that I've got. Maybe the quake shook it loose from the indoor clutter or from the hidey spots beside/under the seats in the little pick-up truck and I'll find 'er again.
  8:06pm
listener james from westwood:

not sure if it was felt down here in northern nj, but i did feel the 5.8-mag 2011 virginia quake. felt like someone was standing behind my chair and pushing the back over and over.
  8:07pm

Ocehs, I have bounce. Sees y'all, jesse, studs, apparently still b/p at this moment. Have a great night!

(the 5.8 VA quake was the one I felt as well). Later james!
