  6:36am
fred:

Good morning Thomas, good afternoon Jay and Fred
  6:37am
Jay/ London:

still morning here in London ... just Fred still to have breakfast
  6:41am
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Thomas and all the listeners.
  6:44am
siltbrank:

Wow, The Now! Love their 'Development Corporations' 7". Or is than another Now?
Avatar 6:53am
Thomas:

same Now! this one recorded in the same year i think but release a year or so later. I think most of the pressing of this one got destroyed in a fire
  6:56am
siltbrank:

it's a rare one for sure. only have it on the Raw Records lp comp
  6:58am
siltbrank:

nice to hear Braille Party
  7:38am
fred:

Thomas, how come your French sounds so good?
  7:48am
humane swatchbird:

Flyin! Old Kent faves.
Avatar 7:54am
Thomas:

ha, thanks fred - watching lots of French movies, maybe?
  8:01am
fred:

I can only wish I could say the English "th" the way you nailed the French "u"
  8:07am
fred:

That was close enough, and a lot of native speakers would have the exact same trouble with "pusillanime", it's an uncommon, oldish word
Avatar 8:12am
Thomas:

What does it mean, fred?
  8:14am
fred:

Kinda hard to translate, something like cowardly but with a hint of pettiness
  8:17am
translate:

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pusillanimous
"Showing ignoble cowardice, or contemptible timidity"
  8:21am
humane swatchbird:

Wow, that 1st Mountain Cult track gave me Anxiolytic surges in the old Joy Div glands I forgot existed
  8:21am
fred:

If you're into challenging names, check out Le cercle des mallissimalistes. It's not even French, it's Spanish made French-sounding. But they're an amazing live band, and still unplayed on the station
  8:23am
humane swatchbird:

Then the 2nd track reminded me of The Sandman-hey,not in the eyes!- & I almost passed out.
Avatar 8:26am
Thomas:

Mountain Cult, an unexpected refreshing force out of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn!
  8:27am
fred:

Who engineered that set?
Avatar 8:30am
Thomas:

engineered by Ernie Indradat - guy's been recording great sets nearly every day this month
  8:32am
humane swatchbird:

By the overall sound I have surmised that listening to Mountain Cult is like the aural equivalent of a day at Orchard Breach (off season even) sauced on Darvon & gin, signing off on all the receipts 'Karen Ann Quinlan'. Go Jets!
  8:33am
fred:

Ernie is totally great, he's my favorite engineer on the station, bar none. He's a freaking genius
Avatar 8:36am
Thomas:

I should take this opportunity to mention that we've just passed the 1/3 mark of our much-needed fundraising goal to keep up with our minimum budget with only 1 more week until the end of the month. It's easy to pledge! Check out the stuff we're offering up this time: www.wfmu.org... Damn!
Avatar 8:38am
Thomas:

woah, humane swishboard - could not have said it better myself
  8:42am
fred:

@humane swatchbird: I agree; expect for the "Go Jets!" part. I only went to the US once as a high school exchange student, and that was in Foxborough...
  8:52am
humane swatchbird:

@fred; i am projecting, of course.
  8:58am
fred:

Great sets Thomas! I'll keep an eye out for any Mountain Cult show in my area, though it seems far fetched
