Listener comments!

  11:14am
Sean T.:

Hey what happened to my first comment? Is there censorship on here now? and if so what did I say wrong?
  11:21am
ej:

Mike,
I wish my wife was here! (on a trip to take care of my aging father-in-law)
She'd be rockin, to these grrrrreat oldies!
I'll just have to enjoy them and love her from here
Thanks!
  11:21am
HAL:

I'm sorry Sean T., I'm afraid I can't answer that.
  11:22am
Mike East:

Ahh! Too many links I want to check out, not enough time! Also, I'm waayy behind on the WTF podcast since I no longer have an ipod. I gotta catch up on that.
  11:26am
Primordius:

Was that what Ike told Tina to say when people asked her where she got those bruises?
  11:42am
Bob:

I'll bet Skeeter Davis was cool to James Brown when he turned up.
  11:50am
erella:

Great show, as usual. Thank you.
Avatar 11:52am
Michael Shelley:

Thanks Erella!

..."when all is said and done, it makes good toast." hahahahahahaha

drewo:

Enjoying the show and reading the links. Mike Nesmith not a believer?
  12:05pm
PBatlan:

Sounds fine to me via internet Michael!

Michael Shelley:

PB - do you hear the noisy bits on this split enz song?
  12:08pm
Mike East:

Warren Haynes, Greg Allman, and Peter Frampton were in our studio last week. They played "There's a Man Down There"
  12:09pm
PBatlan:

Hmmmm.. yes there is a bit of "jitter" but in light of the equipment situation Iwould say you are at 95%. I am listening iat 128K stream over a Motu 196hx AD thru a good pair of Tannoy monitors and the sound is "decent"
  12:10pm
PBatlan:

Better than my spelling! But hey it is my day off...
  12:15pm
?:

I was in the "In Crowd" till I got caught singing this song. Kicked out
  12:16pm
G:

*I'm* just wondering why/how a link to all 43 minutes of the mid-70s solo album of Chris Squire (Yes bassist) would have ended up as an uppermost "maybe you'd like" link on the "beatles puppets" youtube page.... I guess it's just that some recent viewer was a Beatles-and-Yes fan, but I was really expecting a bunch of other Beatles-theme vids...
  12:18pm
Sean T.:

Wow, the Heads. Surprised!
  12:20pm
G:

Roots Heads :)
  12:21pm
Sean T.:

Did you know they asked Adrian Belew to replace Byrne as the frontman for the band when things got tense. He declined. Would have been interesting though.
  12:21pm
kw:

Probably D Byrne's finest moment
  12:23pm
G:

@ST: And that happened anyway. Crim!
  12:28pm
Sean T.:

G- I think it would have been very different than the Crismson sound with a Franz-Weymouth rhythm section versus Bruford-Levin. I suspect more dance oriented like Tom Tom (which he played on before falling out with those guys over Songwriting credits)
  12:29pm
G:

True! But Belew did step in as a lead man for a troubled successful act!
  12:31pm
Michael:

Just a heads up that our $400 donation was all the money that was raised the past two nights by sales of autographed posters by The dB's at their two shows here at the Hideout in Chicago!

Awesome Michael - Thanks!

In regards to the Dylan article, Mr. Roberts liked the show, though one of the fans comments had the words “iconic” and “Huey Lewis” in the same sentence. Nuff said.
  12:36pm
paul:

Football season has messed up my listening schedule. I've missed far too many MS shows.
  12:37pm

Huey Lewis rulz
  12:38pm
Mr Helpful:

@paul: Watch the second half of the game. Don't bother with the first half.
  12:40pm

Thanks, Mr. Helpful. That was, uh, helpful :)

this is the worst

paul2, what is the worst?
  12:47pm
Sean T.:

HAL re:Dylan I am no expert having been to 2 Dylan shows, most recently in 2000, but I though it was hysterical that one complaint was that he was changing the songs so they were not immediately recognizable. DUH! I am convinced not to spend any of my meager earnings on a Dylan show this time around, but the last thing I would expect is to see him perform one of his songs as I expect.
  12:50pm
paul:

Saw Dylan in the mid-90's and it was pretty bad.
  12:53pm
Sean T.:

paul The show I saw in 2000 in Brussels was great. He was dressed in black leather and was clearly channeling Elvis Presley in his treatment of his material. Unfortunately his guitar playing was already becoming minimized I think due to a medical issue like arthritis.
  12:54pm
gene sculatti:

Michael, great re-contexturalizing on this show! The T. Heads and N. Wilson tracks sounded so fresh.
