  6:07pm
Matt from Springfield:

  6:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

How bout playing "Cats" musical songs at Yankees games? Only a matter of time...
  6:09pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Is this the doctor who worked with octomom?
  6:09pm
Matt from Springfield:

Yay, on Air beverages! And Reposado is my FAVE age of tequila!
  6:10pm
Matt from Springfield:

6 months is typical age for reposado. 2 years of barrell aging makes it aged, or "añejo".
  6:11pm
Kat in Chicago:

I don't care about sports but I am super psyched to hear Bronwyn and Jay again!!
  6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

Is "sexual excitement" a sense? If not, why the hell not!!!
It's not "touch", it's within you, but not "thought" which some have included as a sometimes sense.
  6:12pm
Ike:

Same here, Kat.
  6:12pm
timotato:

Don't be hatin' on sports, Jay. Fun and competition is relative.
  6:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hooray, the namesake of our Kat in Chicago Thunk Tank Playlist! :)
Remember, the playlist is yours *until* there's another Marathon and another person pledges for it!
  6:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

ALL of Facebook should be Faceblindbook!
  6:13pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Someone in china tried to log into my youtube account. Of all things, youtube?!?
  6:14pm
Kat in Chicago:

@Matt agreed on Faceblindbook!
  6:14pm
Matt from Springfield:

@timotato: Jay's just peeved that "harness-less mountain climbing" isn't a televised sport yet! ;)
  6:15pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Dan B: That's a disturbing new level of cyber warfare, spoofing user accounts and leaving embarassing comments about has been celebs..
  6:17pm
Carmichael:

If you don't use Facebook or Twitter, then it ain't nothing but a thing.
  6:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Carm: Just "a thing", which you haven't heard of? Maybe THAT explains why you add "the" to things when you become old and unhip--you see new things in a "what is this __?" way.
  6:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

LOL, not even 2 weeks notice for resigning as a Superfan!!
  6:20pm
Dan B From Upstate:

The giants have had plenty of bad years. I still love them, though. I'm appreciative of the good years.
  6:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

Maybe Andy Reid is a better comparison to Baxter...
  6:21pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Did the Eagles win last night? They were up 14-3 at one point. I heard something about a 98-yard punt return. How could a team get a gift like that and still lose?
  6:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

"Hoverjamming"? We were promised hoverboards!
  6:22pm
the glowing one:

stop rooting for a team once they start losing? that beats the whole purpose of supporting them in the first place
  6:24pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ken: Lost to the Cowboys 33-38! I didn't see it so I don't know how they got behind, but right now that's pretty believable!
  6:25pm
Carmichael:

Can we talk about Bobby Fischer?
  6:25pm
Dan B From Upstate:

A buddy sent me a gif (with a hard g) of sanchez tossing a pass into the back of tebow's head. Why they had tebow running passes, I don't know, but it's freaking funny.
  6:26pm
PoutWest:

Turn off that crappy background (music) Now!!...yeah and I hate animated peanut buter!!!!!
  6:26pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Like how apple has the patent on the rectangle?
  6:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

News of the Dead!! Sportsy-Death™!

KC Chief right?
  6:27pm
PoutWest:

Thanks!!
  6:29pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

When Kansas City had an NBA team, it was called Kings. I guess they moved to Sacramento at some point.
  6:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ken: Correct. They were one of the original NBA teams, the Rochester Royals from Upstate NY. Then became the Cincinnati Royals, then because of the KC Royals baseball team, they became the KC "Kings". Now in Sacramento, still the Kings.
  6:33pm
Danne D:

Sportsy Talk :)
Or perhaps Sportialist Talk
  6:33pm
Danne D:

Whoa Jay in the house?
  6:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

I would *like* public ownership of professional sports teams (vote-based shareholder "public corporation", not necessarily govt). The problem is raising the money, and getting the owners to sell.
  6:34pm
Danne D:

If they built that West Side Stadium, you'd have had Fireman Ed marching up and down Broadway every day.
  6:34pm
hamburger:

wait. whaaaaaaaaaat. nice surprise thunk tank. will have to check the arrrrrrchives...
  6:35pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Danne! :)
Yes, "sportialist" talk--you don't have to be an athlete to participate, just hold strong beliefs regarding the political-society relationship of sports!
  6:36pm
Matt from Springfield:

"I'm not a commenter, I don't post comments. But, I am a 'commentIST'!"
  6:36pm
Matt from Springfield:

And hello hamburger too!
  6:37pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Quick googling shows nhl minimum wage for the 11-12 season was $525,000.
  6:37pm
Matt from Springfield:

FLSA status? Do they get overtime pay for putting in extra hours of practice?
  6:39pm
hamburger:

hello Matt and gangnam style
  6:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

Bill Murray is soon to be FDR!! And he's Canadian to boot!
  6:40pm
Matt from Springfield:

Drunk on "Power Reposado", with a lemon finish and *hint* of cinnamon...
  6:40pm
Dan B From Upstate:

That's a great question, Matt. I'm sure you're not being serious, but I'd imagine that they're salary... so every hockey player is management, right?
  6:41pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Canada recently celebrated their 100th Gray Cup. They have a nice ceremonial kickoff before the big game.
  6:42pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Dan B: Jes' kiddin' :) But yes, I would imagine they're salary due to their contracts. Though labor policy in professional sports can get weird.
  6:43pm
Glenn:

You have to fail three times before its public
  6:43pm
Glenn:

You have to fail three times before its public
  6:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

So by my own logic...perhaps Nardwuar should be portraying FDR!! Imagine a Fireside Chat introed Nardwuar style! ;D
  6:44pm
Dan B From Upstate:

I'm sure someone has already made the Mile "High" city joke.
  6:48pm
Matt from Springfield:

I think there should be a female official, "the Asterix" ("the Aster", if male) who adds exceptions to all records with the force of law!
  6:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

They Shoot Aged Overpaid Brittle-Boned Yankees, Don't They?
  6:51pm

David Thomas "Davy" Jones (30 December 1945 – 29 February 2012)
  6:51pm
Danne D:

The Manager was Billy Martin - George Brett of the Royals hit a go-ahead home run after which Martin had the umpire measure the pine tar on the bat against home plate.

The umpire called Brett out and Brett charged out of the dug out looking like his head was going to literally explode

Dan B From Upstate:

I didn't think Davy Jones was dead, but now I'm a bereaver.
  6:52pm
Matt from Springfield:

Leap Day death! No one year anniversary commemoration.
  6:54pm
Matt from Springfield:

Tarsy Talk, discussing the integrity of wooden bats.
  6:54pm
Danne D:

Run Ricky Run - the 30 for 30 movie is good
  6:55pm
Danne D:

Ricky was a big part of me winning a fantasy league championship (actually I think it was my first one)
