T-Zero:

A little American Primitivism for this wet and primitive earlier hour :D
  3:16am
Steve:

So far so good
Avatar 3:20am
Bill Mac:

Oy! Yep raining here in JC. No vocals up to this point in the show. Really diggin the Chris Corsano percussion stuff. Be prepared to hear more of this in the near future. Morning all!!!
  3:23am
T-Zero:

No rain at the moment... we're between... Was diggin' the Blackshaw myself... but I'm a fan of American Primitivism like Blackshaw, Jack Rose, Fahey, Leo Kottke
  3:25am
T-Zero:

Nice to be here at this hour for once... Got my Beaumont classic roast goin' so hope to last through
  3:27am
KP:

Hey Bill. Trying to ingrain myself into the landscape that is Jersey City.
Avatar 3:27am
Bill Mac:

I'm a big fan of Kottke's '6 and 12 String Guitar' album - the album that made people run out to but guitars and sadly sell them because they couldn't play it like Leo
  3:28am
Jay/ London:

morning T-Zero what is a beaumont classic roast never heard of it this side of the pond
Avatar 3:28am
Bill Mac:

Hey KP - how's that workin' out for you?
  3:29am
KP:

Went to Iris Records in JC. Guy behind counter never heard of Nick Cave. It was great though got new vinyl Shuggie Otis
  3:30am
Jay/ London:

@ KP was the guy very young ?
  3:31am
T-Zero:

Morning, Jay :D Beaumont's a domestic coffee brand. I think it's actually The Texas Coffee Company in Beaumont TX, but unsure

@Bill, Yep! I'm a fan of that album, My Father's Face and Mudlark
  3:31am
KP:

Well tonight waited in rain for shuttle bus that never came. Five of us jammed into one cab for ride to penn at 2 am. I was not the biggest of the five. Made the late train.
Yeah so it's working out great.
  3:33am
T-Zero:

@KP: I hope you promptly presented him with some Cave...
  3:33am
KP:

He was fairly young, but not very. He asked if he was a singer/songwriter. This is a store that looks like a back room at WFMU.
  3:46am
T-Zero:

Hmmmm... Will need to check out Mount eerie a bit more. Hadn't heard them before
  3:47am
KP:

Bush Tetras! Very awesome .

larraby:

props from Portland ---first time zzzzzzzero hour listener and liking your mix! Now I'm gonna have to find out more about The Cravats!
Avatar 3:56am
Bill Mac:

@KP Bush Tetras just released an unreleased album from 1997 . Apparently no one told them art punk had been over for a few years by then
  3:58am
T-Zero:

Is there more than one Mount Eerie? Discogs has a list of 11 albums since 2004 plus their long list of singles.
Avatar 3:58am
Bill Mac:

Yo Larraby, welcome to the festivities. is there a Zappa tribute band based out there by any chance?
Avatar 3:59am
Bill Mac:

I only got a look at something very briefly, T. Could be that the new release is just the single as of now
  4:02am

Mornin' Bill & friends. Quick dip in & out today pre Christmas visiting so early departure.

Bill your pronounciation of Cravats got me confused. I think it is not like Lenny. More the thing you wear round you neck.
  4:11am

I came to 3rd Man via the Anton Karas music. Have it on a 78. It's a great film. My top 5.

I think Heroes was the first Bowie I ever bought...

Ok I have a request for "She's The One" by Roy Harper.

Never short on 'popular' requests - Waiting for the Sun
Avatar 4:29am
Bill Mac:

That's a goodie
  4:29am
Madi:

Hey thanks! Might as well request "White Man" by Material while I'm at it, like it was 1980 (Bill Kelly played it once). No pressure.
Avatar 4:31am
Bill Mac:

Funny, wasn't the guitarist for that band.... BTW, 3rd man theme makes a brief appearance in the Residents tune - sheer happenstance
  4:31am
Madi:

I once worked in an office that rented out the back to a stockbroker guy. Nights he was partying we'd hear "Waiting For The Sun" really loud, maybe 11:00 a.m., then watch the hookers emerge!
  4:32am
?:

iris records did have a Residents vinyl release. oh well reason to go back next week.
  4:32am
Jay/ London:

now i might dig out the third man this weekend
  4:33am
Madi:

Residents new box set comes in a full-sized refrigerator.
  4:36am
Brian in UK:

@Madi What is it called 'Kelvin ate her'
  4:41am
KP:

Odd about the eye thing being included in the set. Way back one of them was stolen and they never tried to to replace it saying it would be too expensive.
  4:43am
KP:

Hey name belongs on that residents post, It's also about Iris records. They had a nice vinyl Residents release.
Avatar 4:44am

I was going to mention that. I guess they don't have the money to buy their own collectors items. I'll bet they're valuable to somebody

  5:38am

I'm gonna lob a stink bomb here: you can listen to as much Velvets and Lou as you can swallow (and I willfully swallow a lot) on Spotify. Without shelling out the cash. I'm not on Spotify (yet) but I'm thinking about it. If it's a toss up for my cash, it goes to WFMU. Discuss.

@Jay Believe it or not, we don't have Morrison Motel!
  5:43am
KP:

Well ... i support WFMU and i try to support artists. I have downloaded a lot of bootleg stuff (mostly before i got the FMU app). Plus ... ahem ... my band is on real records, we made money and have been played on radio. It gives you a different perspective!
  5:44am

Ken comes in at night and searches the place for copies of Morrison Hotel.

Still find I get much more when Bill or John Allen or Irwin etc. is making the musical choices. Screw them algorithms!

My mother once admitted to me that she was disappointed that I wasn't born on Morrison's birthday...I came out 3 days too early
