  Sun. 12/16/12 1:04am seang:

anyone else see that clip of a spirited/drunken version of Kids in America sung by Kim Wilde on a London commuter train recently?
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:04am Joe McG:

Hey, BULLDOZ'r, I like your moniker.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:08am Joe McG:

@seang: No, have you got a link? Drunken Kim Wilde sounds like a reoccurring daydream I've had.
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:08am BULLDOZ'r:

Mucho thanks.
Sun. 12/16/12 1:10am dan in falls church VA:

Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:12am Joe McG:

Sure, Dan. Sounds like Richard Lloyd walked over from the Matthew Sweet record, doesn't it?
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:12am Nick:

Damn, I forgot what an AMAZING guitarist Wayne Roger is! Are Major Stars still together?
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:13am Nick:

I meant Wayne Rogers
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:14am Joe McG:

I think so, Nick. This is a new release, so unless they JUST broke up...
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:16am Nick:

Thanks, I was wondering if it was a recording of older material. Cool!
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:16am seang:

Sun. 12/16/12 1:17am Matt from Springfield:

Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:20am Joe McG:

Hey, Matt, what's up?
Sun. 12/16/12 1:22am Matt from Springfield:

Martin Short/Paul McC were great tonight on SNL--Martin began by singing on top a piano played by Paul Shaffer! It reminded me of the last time someone sang on top a piano played by Paul Shaffer there :)

Sun. 12/16/12 1:23am dan in falls church VA:

hi matt! wow, I owe you an e-mail!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:23am Joe McG:

Wow, that McCartney gets around! He's the new Kurt Cobain one minute and a comedy star the next.
Sun. 12/16/12 1:27am Matt from Springfield:

Wingsvana actually made the 2nd music appearance! This thing's got legs! Whether that's a good thing or not...!

Hi Dan! I know you've been busy, and since last weekend and this were busy for me too, may want to hold off on a Meetup until after the New Year. I need to get some more emails for local fans to better coordinate, as well.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:28am Joe McG:

Sun. 12/16/12 1:29am Matt from Springfield:

As long as people don't confuse it for nerve'ndings :)
Numero Group always brings the jams! If public transport is to be expanded, we def need some more eccentric soul omnibuses!
Sun. 12/16/12 1:30am Matt from Springfield:

And for those of a more 80s vein, a double dutch omnibus.
Sun. 12/16/12 1:31am dan in falls church VA:

@matt, after the new year sounds right to me.
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:33am braingallop:

Hi all :D
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:33am braingallop:

@Joe: GREAT new bed music, keep this in your rotation!
Sun. 12/16/12 1:34am Matt from Springfield:

Running to catch up with your galloping brain! Hiya hiya!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:38am Joe McG:

@Matt: Thanks, Matt, hard to go wrong with Mancini. Hey, braingallop!
Sun. 12/16/12 1:38am Matt from Springfield:

Joanne Barnard--'nother cool blast from the past I just learned about through a random 45!
Sun. 12/16/12 1:45am Matt from Springfield:

Instro classics! Hooray for flip sides, I'm guessing!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 1:46am Joe McG:

Rap along at home.
  Sun. 12/16/12 1:47am 12539:

This is giving me flashbacks to car alarms.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:00am Matt from Springfield:

Chrome's landmark "space disco" track "Fly On UFO" was played on Evan's show this week! I first heard it on Single File, May 30, 2010 I looked up (an extremely good episode all around, actually):

But, EFD has seen your 7" and raised you 12", Joe! Your move! ;)
Sun. 12/16/12 2:13am Matt from Springfield:

Long live Ravi.
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:14am sweet cheri:

joe, may i say have a very merry xmas happy new year and great show this morning!!!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:15am Joe McG:

Thanks, SC. Hey, Matt, I can't compete with EFD's 12"!
Sun. 12/16/12 2:19am Matt from Springfield:

Unless a crackpot scientist invents a 19" vinyl record someday...
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:19am sweet cheri:

well i got to split now,, g'night joe & everybody!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:20am Joe McG:

@Matt: They used to make transcription discs that I believe were 16" or even 18". I'd have to check on that, though.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:21am Matt from Springfield:

I think you're right, Joe. They just didn't have them in the modern era!
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:23am sweet cheri:

see you soon joe. have a fun holiday!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:24am Joe McG:

Have a nice evening!
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:24am Doug S.:

The first concert I ever went to was supposed to have Ravi Shankar as the opening act, but he was ill. He was opening for George Harrison on his North American tour in '74. Billy Preston, who was in Harrison's band for the tour, did the opening set. True fact: My afro was bigger than his then.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:26am Joe McG:

Doug, you had a mighty impressive afro! I saw Ravi about 10 years ago with his daughter. Greatness.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:31am Matt from Springfield:

Good way past evening, Doug!
I enjoy those pics of your 'do as well!
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:33am Doug S.:

My hair starred as the character Bernie on the sitcom "Room 222." Practically.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:34am Joe McG:

I'm bowled over that you're tuned in, Doug! You're up mighty late in PA!
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:37am Doug S.:

Yeah, but I'm the West Coast of PA, so the night is, um, young.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:39am Joe McG:

Whenever I'm in PA (where I'm from), the nights feel very, uh, lengthy.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:39am Matt from Springfield:

BEST (Mountainside)Coast!
I heard the 'fros on Room 222 (and the rest of TV) were on a better pay scale than the actors below them.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:41am Matt from Springfield:

Monterey Pop Festival, a seminal performance for Ravi! I liked his instructions in Indian music, so I kinda know what they mean when the track says "Teental".
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:46am Joe McG:

There's a funny story about Ravi tuning up for 15 minutes and hippies applauding. He says "If you liked the tuning, wait until you hear the first piece!"
Sun. 12/16/12 2:48am Brian in UK:

Mornin' Joe, Matt, Doug!
Sun. 12/16/12 2:49am Matt from Springfield:

I like that story!
Morning Brian!
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:52am Joe McG:

Hey, Brian! I'm soon to say goodbye. I hope it's a nice day over across the ocean.
Avatar Sun. 12/16/12 2:55am Joe McG:

Goodnight, everyone, thanks for listening!
Sun. 12/16/12 2:55am Brian in UK:

Just pre christmas mayhem. Looks like the archives.
  Sun. 12/16/12 2:56am Nick:

Thanks Joe! Great show, including the Ravi tribute.
Sun. 12/16/12 2:57am Matt from Springfield:

Great show Joe! Nice trancey Ravi block to end it with.
Have a good day, Brian, Nick and all!
