![]() Good morning Paul, Adrey, and Glenn |
![]() |
![]() What's up Fred, Glenn and Adrey. Thanks for tuning in! |
![]() |
![]() Paul, your fill-in for Terre was great, and this one is off to a good start too |
![]() |
![]() Thanks, Fred. If I can stay awake, it should be a good one! |
Sun. 5/19/13 6:25am
Richard from Venezuela:
Greetings. | |
![]() |
![]() Good morning Richard. Chris M said Keili would be filling in for him next week |
![]() |
![]() Wakey - tuning in - ✩ing Bettie Serveert... |

Richard from Venezuela:
@fred: great news!! | |
![]() |
![]() Anybody hear the Black Sabbath Pancake thing yet? |
![]() |
![]() @RR63: I just caught the last 10 minutes: I'm not a morning person, especially on Sundays |
![]() |
![]() Right. Comments are still open !! : P : www.wfmu.org... |

Jay/London:
welcome paul just checking in |
![]() |
![]() Thanks for checking in Jay, Rabbit, Fred, Richard! And thanks anybody else out there in radioland! |
![]() |
![]() ...this cuppa is too tiny: ☕ - & this cuppa is sideways : |CO ~~~ |
![]() |
![]() ...noo - not wine time, gotta be caffeine... |
![]() |
![]() I hear ya, Rabbit! |
Sun. 5/19/13 7:18am
Josh Ellingson:
Texting in from a ladder in the middle of Austria where I'm painting a mural. Anyway, great tunes. You mentioned earlier that 1993 was ten years ago but it was twenty years ago. So, I guess it's even more impressive that the band hasn't missed a beat with their new release.
![]() |
![]() Really enjoying the show this AM, Mr. DJ! |
![]() |
![]() why do I love 60's Punk so... |
![]() |
![]() @Josh - Well, that's embarrassing. Though at 7 am, I can't be expected to know the difference between 10 and 20. |
![]() |
![]() ...Kurt Cobain @ 50... |
![]() |
![]() @RRN63: I don't know, but you do advertise your love, with your handle and avatar |
![]() |
![]() ...it prob. reminds me of my toddlerhood... |
![]() |
![]() @Paul: I wouldn't fare any better. Did you stay up all night or have you had any sleep? |
![]() |
![]() That Emitt Rhodes reminded me of Nilsson a bit. Masses of great stuff in the 70s, but someone says '70s' & we're conditioned to go 'blehh'... |
![]() |
![]() @Fred - Up all night, though I slept most of the day Saturday. I'll be fine but this will likely be a flub-filled fill-in! |
![]() |
![]() @RRN63: I think I despise the 80's more than the 70's |
![]() |
![]() @Paul: Coffee is you friend. All-nighters like these are the only time I set foot in a Starbucks: the only place I can order a pint of coffee |
![]() |
![]() Well - it's more the Mainstream Vs. Underground/Alt thing generally I suppose ('cause I think Teardrop Explodes & Husker Du, &tc. ...) ...hearing a bunch of OldiesRadio & such, I realized that I don't hate Top40 per se - but we basically parted ways mid-70s about when Punk as we know it started (why weren't The Ramones Top40?? & all that)... |
![]() |
![]() @Fred - Unfortunately, Starbucks isn't open at the time I arrived at the station. But I am well-caffeinated. |
![]() |
![]() @RRN63: speaking of Top40, have you listened to Nat Roe's chartsweeps/supercuts? |
Sun. 5/19/13 7:40am
Jess:
Hiiii Paul! (it's Jess & Billy!)
![]() |
![]() fred: I've only popped into the Roe program a few times. Does he deconstruct the Charts? |
![]() |
![]() Hey Jess and Billy! Just getting home? |
Sun. 5/19/13 7:44am
Jess:
Billy took off last night in prep for a prison trip he's making in a few mins... FUN! & I just happened to go to bed at 10 last night. Glad I woke up in time to catch some of your show. Good stuff, mannn!
![]() |
![]() Ropers reminds me a little of Stephin Merritt but as a RockBand. Most grateful to be exposed to this stuff... |
![]() |
![]() @RRN63: look here: blog.wfmu.org... He did mixes with 10 seconds of each top charting single in each year from 1959 to 2011 |
![]() |
![]() A prison trip! I'm assuming that's "fishing trip" and autocorrect. |
![]() |
![]() Though who knows what Billy's into! |
Sun. 5/19/13 7:46am
Jess:
You assume incorrectly. (Trip is to visit...not to "check in")
![]() |
![]() Ah, well now I feel like a jerk. More so than usual. |
![]() |
![]() when you said you'd be on air in 12 hours (on cbc) I didnt do the math, but assumed I'd be asleep. What a pleasant surprise on this glorious day |
Sun. 5/19/13 7:49am
Jess:
Then my mission here is complete.
![]() |
![]() Thx fred! That's gotta be interesting. ...starting to like Thermals I do believe... |
![]() |
![]() The Infamous CD2!! |
![]() |
![]() So has anyone come up with any brunch ideas yet? |
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:03am
Cheri Pi:
Good morning my peeple! Chiming in for a second before I paint my nails. SNAPPER!! |
![]() |
![]() Paul, maybe you need a refill |
![]() |
![]() Good morning Cheri! |

Sun. 5/19/13 8:06am
KP:

![]() |
![]() ...bachelorslob brunch: real good local Oats & Cranberry cookie (free overstock) - blueberry yogurt - jasmine greentea (green tea leaves go a long way!) - PaulB Show (awlright!) - & then @9 if it's Sunday it must be MeatDepressed... |
![]() |
![]() Enjoy your Sunday Cheri pi |
![]() |
![]() I think that's less slobberly than your average bachellor, revrabbit. Sounds good to me. |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:11am
Yahya Madra:
Hi from Istanbul! | |
![]() |
![]() ...then I work (Sunday =s 'Thur.' por moi). - Istanbul! |
![]() |
![]() @Paul: what's you bed music? It rings a bell but I can't place it @Yahya Madra: welcome! |
![]() |
![]() PaulB should be a regular Program. Somewhere. Sometime. |
![]() |
![]() @Fred - It's a loop of RZA's opening theme from "Ghost Dog" @everyone else - Thanks for listening and checking in! |
![]() |
![]() @RRN63: The new schedule is coming, maybe it's time for you to lobby for that @Paul: Of course! -- slaps forehead -- Did you apply for slot in the next schedule? |
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:31am
Cheri Pi:
what they said. be a regular PB!! |
![]() |
![]() ...more great DJs than slots I can imagine - what to do...five more Streams!... |
![]() |
![]() I surprised no one does a Program where they switch off week to week...& there should be PopUp Players for your Favorites & you could listen to other people's on their profiles...& why can't they make zippers & staples that really work - ?!?!... |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:45am
KP:
Certain Mark Lindsay tone to this. Great stuff
![]() |
![]() ...& bootstrings break too easy. You make a good boot, make a decent bootstring awlready...okay - that's enuff to work on for now... |
![]() |
![]() brunch: 2 pcs. of cranberry nut toast...1 with butter, 1 with cream cheese. reheated coffee. fresh blueberries |
![]() |
![]() brunch before 9 any day but Sunday = 'breakfast' :P ... |
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:49am
Cheri Pi:

![]() |
![]() hehe...thats right |
![]() |
![]() Marmite!...I love yoo guys... |
![]() |
![]() speaking of garbage, I just found out yesterday that a friend of mine recorded a split with the band Garbage. |
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:51am
Cheri Pi:
killing it PB!!!!!!!!!! |
![]() |
![]() Is daiya soybased? - Seriously - how is this Playlist not fully worthy? |
![]() |
![]() Thank you all so much for the kind words. This isn't an easy shift and I truly appreciate it. |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:52am
KP:
I don't like the streams. They compete against real DJs but don't raise nearly the money. If I want to listen to Pandora, I'll do that. WFMU is all about people and personalities. Tom Hanks can go back to the island.
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:53am
Cheri Pi:
no, i think it's from tapioca starch RRN63. it's decent w/ marmite backing it up. |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:53am
Jess:
@Mike - would said friend happen to be in Screaming Females? I picked up that split on Record Store Day...but my record player is currently out of commission. Can't wait to give it a listen. & AWESOME JOB PAUL
Sun. 5/19/13 8:53am
KP:
Sounds great Paul. I'm glad to be here
![]() |
![]() I usually don't care for food, but right now I crave katsuobushi |
![]() |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:54am
Cheri Pi:
I hold Tom Hanks in contempt too KP |
![]() |
![]() @KP - the give the drummer stream has some live DJ'd shows, too @Jess - yes! I saw it on the shelf at the record store yesterday, but was committed to picking up "Fade" YLT...hopefully it'll still be there in a few weeks when I re-up my disposable income. I grew a with those guys...went to HS with the drummer |
![]() |
![]() Great show Paul, I hope you'll eventually get a regular show |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:57am
KP:
He's no Mike McAlary either. Go sleep in Seattle, lightweight.
![]() |
![]() GREAT show this morning, Paul. Really started my day right. see y'all later! |
Sun. 5/19/13 8:59am
KP:
Nice one Paul. | |
![]() |
![]() I honestly don't listen to other FMU streams much - & there is the issue of competing against oneself...For that matter, my brain has yet to even process the reality of Archives! (I think realtime programming helps me structure time - & honestly gives illusion of participation...) - I like having Options, tho'! (I give ComCast enuff $ for the connection)... |
![]() |
![]() That Hell was crazy for '73. |
