Does ex-Cult mean the Doors?
  12:14am
Martha:

Unlikely - they may not even be from the right continent...
  12:15am
Martha:

Plus, half of their band isn't dead -
  12:15am
KP:

Well Ian Astbury was sort of in the Doors.

How come you don't ask me about the seasons, cheri?

Fall is great,, (unlike the unpredictable last year) - ,, and the 7" stuff ,. love it just thinking "what's next" and Martha always had great surprises kicking it to the Max !

.."has"...(not had)...

Thanks - though interaction will necessarily be a bit limited tonight -
  12:26am
sweet cheri:

i'm sorry kp,,how do you like this beautiful fall season?
  12:27am
KP:

Forgot about the 7". Great work Martha!

As for seasons, if cheri is still dialed in or not, for me it's def. summer. I'm from Long Island, sort of the south shore. Everything was about the beach. In recent years I was able to move to north shore. Now I'm on East River. Love the water. And the sun. It's life.
  12:33am
KP:

That and WFMU.
  12:33am
sweet cheri:

Hello, Martha. The Volcano Suns woke me out of a deep doze because Greasy Spine is one of the BEST 7''s ever! And then I see I missed Job's Daughters!!!

This is great, I am not going baxk to sleep :-)

jamesegio:

i think ex-cult changed their name from sex cult
  12:54am

...I saw Ian Astbury w/ 'the Doors' & loved it...
Avatar 1:05am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...but - Chris T had an interview w/ John Densmore - & the others who wanted to tour sued him for like $40million or something - *unbelievable*...
  1:07am
Martha:

Bizarre...Didn't know that -

...esp. considering The Doors were noted for their GroupMind & sharing song credits & royalties amongst whole band & such...enuff about them I guess...
Avatar 1:20am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...think I'll try & sleep w/ FMU on tonight
...altho' it makes me self-conscious to tell DJs that; you don't have to play lullabies !...

Martha:

No worries there -

Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Mark Robinson lives in these parts and has band-formation OCD, which can be a bit much after a while. That said, I rarely tire of Unrest.
Avatar 2:12am
Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Oh my god, I can't believe I recognized "Disgusted." I bet this was on a CMJ sampler once.
  2:12am
Martha:

Yes, I had to take a loooooong break from Unrest but still do appreciate them -
Avatar 2:12am
Pete from Boston (and NJ):

My inner 23-year-old is pretty happy.
  2:14am
Martha:

Maybe - I always loved this band - though I also loved the Pontiac Bros. - if they made it onto CMJ then it was b/c of their association w/ Matador I would guess - this is the B-side actually -
  2:14am
Martha:

Maybe now it will get depressed - this is such a downer of a song -
Avatar 2:15am
Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Unrest holds up better on its own when you haven't seen Mark Robinson and wife (I apologize, I forget her name) sing a capella old-timey commercial jingles between bands at several shows now.
  2:16am
Martha:

Oh jeez - I would rather not thank you for that image -
Avatar 2:17am
Pete from Boston (and NJ):

And look, you had Helios Creed earlier. I have to listen to this show from the start afterwards.

I gotta pack it in, but want to say it's a rare treat to get a great stretch of late-night show like this. Good night!

Bill Orcutt and Adris are originally from Miami. I grew up around Jacksonville-Gainesville, so, I saw a bit of them in my youth.
