Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm SSS:

Fight Rabbit, fight!
Avatar 6:28pm Whooda:

LCD I keep thinking what a hassle it must be to have a runny AND a twitchy nose.
  6:31pm LovecraftDude888:

dey call him Rabbit Fighter. Whooda...yeah that must suck. Alls I know is it felt like Spring here today
Avatar 6:31pm Whooda:

Fantastic set of music.
  6:34pm LovecraftDude888:

I'm not usually massive world music fan, but between Joe Boyd's enthusiasm and being on here constantly of late...kind of digging it. opens yer head to all kinds of things
Avatar 6:37pm DJ Stashu:

!!!!!!!!!! *cheering crowd*
  6:41pm Ignore Function:

I'm going to see Tinariwen in April!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm SSS:

Think about it, the "other" can always be described as ethnic by any "other", but it seems only some think this way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Rob W:

Thanks everyone! As for the "other" - well, a great example to me that I remember hearing that in Germany, at least a while back, record shops would file American country music under "world music".
Avatar 6:43pm Whooda:

Hey there DJ Stashu, that's a noble looking nose you have up for adoption. If still available, my marathon budget will only allow for one nostril. :( Maybe I can find a co-investor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm SSS:

It is so nice to be understood
  6:43pm LovecraftDude888:

ha, Johnny Cash world music. cool! Nah I don't label things this way, really....I"m just as good hearing Sufi qawwali or New York Dolls, whatever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Rob W:

I actually interviewed Joe Boyd for my show a few years ago, when he was promoting White Bicycles. (Archive: wfmu.org...) Actually at the time he mentioned he was going to write a follow-up about his career in 'world music' - did he ever - ?
Avatar 6:45pm Whooda:

American Country music as "world music". As any fan of American Country music would reply, "Was there some question about it?"
  6:46pm LovecraftDude888:

Rob...I met Joe last year at Nick Drake film event in Brooklyn at Nite Hawk...and he says on blog and here that he's working on his book on world music etc...yep.
  6:47pm LovecraftDude888:

I meant there..at the event and on his blog sorry
Avatar 6:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Country has roots in Scottish Ballads, for example - 'Wildwood Flower' & all this; I'm fascinated by how in the isolated Hills of the (American) South - African & European Traditions were sometimes preserved w/ remarkably little change from the Eastern Hemisphere
...soo - Country & Jazz & Rawk are World Fusions from the start...as everybody knows - but I like to hear myself talk
- & Hi !! Great As Ever Rob !
Avatar 6:56pm Whooda:

Those are some great observations RevRabbit. So true. Hope your're not too foggy, what with all the cold medicine and all.
  6:58pm LovecraftDude888:

he'll be fine once da helium takes effect...nevermind that rat tail found in guy's German apple cake on LI! nice! Didn't know that was a trad. ingredient
Avatar 6:58pm Mdurek(The_Use):

Nice sounds Rob! Started in my car, finishing eating dinner here with the wife
Avatar 6:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- wull - my line has always been that - I *always* get Colds - but *never* the Flu - but I'm not so sure this time...benadryl apparently not able to work miracles w/out fail after all...Time - always time...
Avatar 6:59pm Whooda:

Normally a 'rat tail' in a cake is headed to a prisoner in the form of a 'rat tail file'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Ike:

Sounds good! ...except for the supersonic hamster wheel of the 91.1 backup transmitter. I'll switch that off & listen online instead.
  7:01pm LovecraftDude888:

hehe nah this guy was just in Commack..almost as bad. mold, too..mmm nummy!
  7:01pm LovecraftDude888:

is there really a noise..i always listen online now
Avatar 7:08pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...take Gershwin: you have Classical, Blues~Jazz~Gospel - maybe even some Eastern European in there - & it's a natural Fusion for him - not some attempt to join things together for the sake of it - but because that was his Environment where & when he was from...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Ike:

Not as noisy as you, Lovecraft!
  7:14pm LovecraftDude888:

take it easy old hoss
Avatar 7:31pm Richard from Venezuela:

R.I.P Simon Diaz youtu.be...
  7:33pm LovecraftDude888:

don't bust my balls...just switched to Sanka
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm Ike:

Wow, sounds much better online.
Avatar 7:34pm fleep:

Avatar 7:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 7:36pm Whooda:

Don't mess around with the Advil RevRabbit, head straight to the Nyquil and don't forget to share.
Avatar 7:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yeah - I've seen what benadryl can do for this...
Avatar 7:40pm Whooda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm Ike:

@Mike East, bummer that I'll miss that on Tuesday. I'm making bread and bringing it to share tomorrow evening (assuming it doesn't go kablooey).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm maestroso:

Ooh man, that Kinan Azmeh track was great. Hallo Rob!
  8:28pm mike east:

Awesome, Ike. Bread is something I haven't attempted since H.S. A lot of chemistry there. I was hoping to get in on a Sunday, but lunch shifts were spoken for
  8:38pm mike east:

  8:47pm LovecraftDude888:
