And now the wiki-explanation: Changüí is a style of Cuban music which originated in the early 19th century in the eastern region of Guantánamo Province, specifically Baracoa. It arose in the sugar cane refineries and in the rural communities populated by slaves. Changui combines the structure and elements of Spain's canción and the Spanish guitar with African rhythms and percussion instruments of Bantu origin. Changui is considered a predecessor of son montuno (the ancestor of modern salsa), which has enjoyed tremendous popularity in Cuba throughout the 20th century.

I do have a couple of very dear friends who are only able to listen to the archives, yeah

I usually exploit that eight minutes pretty hard. I've had to rush the last mic break a few times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm
Gary:

@Dave ... LOL, great article -- thanks for that!

@Gary
Uncle Michael is exactly right. The archive recording machine cuts off at 8 minutes after the hour. You could OF COURSE go an extra hour or two OFF THE GRID. I don't think any of your assembled droolers would complain.

@Gary: Yeah, people were debating that hoax for a while, but it was actually quite far-fetched for any number of reasons.

Wait...that's "East German" too!

That East German link is not a hoax, but more of a compilation of GDR science fiction film music and the like, it would seem.
