A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Tue. 11/4/14 10:07am
kym:
Check out Marianne Faithfull's autobiography ('Faithfull'). It's an incredible read and she doesn't pull any punches. After she fell out with Mick Jagger she was inspired by William Burroughs to become a drug addict and spent several years living on a wall before going into rehab. Her voice changed considerably during the interim.

Hi! Just tuned in and caught your question about Marianne Faithfull's deepening voice? I'd suggest cigarettes + menopause, but the latter doesn't affect all women that way.

hey trouble! it looks like question #1 on the ballot addresses a law that only allows no bail for capital offenses, which only applies to the death penalty no longer existing in NJ. This amendment will allow judges to deny bail to those dangerous to society, likely to not appear in court for hearing, and/or obstruct the criminal justice process. A number of senators and assemblyman voted yes to have this on the ballot.
Tue. 11/4/14 10:25am
kym:
@ratty- Actually, I just realized that the one I have is from 1994 (maybe revised in 2000?). At any rate, it is the one cowritten by David Dalton.

An outfit that might be national did a get-out-the-vote thing around here by email and snail mail that some recipients found offensive and creepy. With varying accuracy, it lists the personal voting history of you and your neighbors in recent elections -- not how you voted, but the years you did and did not. |

![]() the exhibit was beautiful. annea's pice was especially wonderful. i spent a long time with that and betsey biggs' sunken garden piece. |
![]() |
![]() Hi Annea! I hope to get to see these pieces next time they come around, and also to set up similar environmental sound pieces at the Widow Jane Mine. |
![]() |
![]() Fabio had a guest on his show a few years ago who had compositions created from dropping a microphone into a river (in Brazil I think) and recording sounds made while it rained or while fish swam by. |
