Favoriting January 3, 2015: Your Life Is Not A Novel
Good thing you realized that your life is not a book. It isn't one. You may emphasize things and not mention other things in a book. Your life is all the details. This is why your ACTUAL LIFE is not a novel. A novel is a novel. If you were to write about your life, what would the book be like? What would you name the chapters? Would you change names? Why are you reading this? This is a radio show. This is the internet. Not a book. Or a novel.

There's an amazing YouTube clip of Eno's "Big Ship" slowed down 800%. Almost as if he wrote it that way. Maybe he exists in 1/8 speed relative to the rest of us (the secret of his prolific creativity).

i've been appreciating the gradual diversification of this show over the months, but also kind of longing for this kind of ultra-cheesy pumping dance-pop (never thought i'd say that!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34am
coelacanth:

i'm all for not living by a time table based on a pretend birthday of someone who may or may not have existed; but what do we keep track by? (aside from the obvious- solstice, equinox, moon phases; day/night...)
What about a work week?

time would be better if it were respected by all and not used for personal gain. ever hang out with a social vampire?<time sucker>listen to thee trees & thee clouds they know whats up! humankind has abused our time. forgetting our relationship with true nature...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Homogeneous, linear "objective" time, taken for granted as part of the "correct" view of reality is an incredibly recent invention in the history of humanity (and a profoundly weird one, compared to all previous/alternate views).
