Something fishy about this one ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Those fish are all named jack. Get it? Jumping jacks! What, you don't like fish jokes?!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Gary:

Jokey-dokey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Doug Schulkind:

At first I thought you said "jokey-donkey." That would NOT have been funny.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Gary:

Jack-y Ass-y? :)

Dance, fishes, DANCE FOR OUR AMUSEMENT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Doug Schulkind:

The mayor should present you with the Donkey to the City, Gary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Doug Schulkind:

Beats sleeping with the fishes, eh Listener James?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Doug Schulkind:

The tune playing on the stream right now? "Mr. Chicken Shit" by The Soul Seven.
Avatar 6:00pm ndbob:

evening Doug, Gary, everyone!

Welcome welcome,ndbob!

Hello James!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:02pm listener james from westwood:

How do, Gary, Doug, ndbob, and all fishing for good music!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Gary:

Hi James and Bob!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:05pm listener james from westwood:

Doug, in a good news/bad news one-two, I will be in Pittsburgh in late March, but I'll be stuck at a conference and unable to range forth and greet you on your home turf. Vexing in the extreme!
Avatar 6:06pm ndbob:

Quite a morning - I go to the same place for breakfast several times a week - today I went and there were three police cars in the parking lot - turned out it had been held up 20 minutes earlier - no one was hurt
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:07pm listener james from westwood:

Holy crap, ndbob! Glad you arrived after the excitement!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:07pm listener james from westwood:

My mom narrowly missed a bank robbery in the same way. Still shook her up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

@Listener James
I'll come find you. I'll just turn on my LJFWGPS!

@ndbob
Glad you were 20 minutes late!
Avatar 6:07pm northguineahills:

Hello Doug and Give the Drummer Somites (that sounded better in my head)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Gary:

Whoa, Bob
Avatar 6:08pm ndbob:

Doesn't happen very often in Bloomington
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Doug Schulkind:

@northguineahills
Give the Drummer Sodomites?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Gary:

I barely missed this fire this morning, though my train was stalled for a half hour or so. It would have been my third subway fire, had I been there: gothamist.com...
Avatar 6:13pm ndbob:

Wow Gary!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:13pm listener james from westwood:

Yikes! GTDR lis'ners and hosts, all of y'all, do be safe!! (And your third fire? I'd move to Alberta after the first!!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Doug Schulkind:

EVERYBODY JUST STAY HOME FOR GOODNESS SAKES! And listen to the radio, maybe.
Avatar 6:16pm northguineahills:

Congrats, Gary! I'm already in the three subway fires club, thankfully none in the last 9 years.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Gary:

My first fire was this one: articles.latimes.com...
Avatar 6:18pm ndbob:

Were you OK Gary?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Doug Schulkind:

@Gary
Damn. That link had an auto-playing video. It was a commercial for Starbusts. I hate Starbursts.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Gary:

I was actually on my honeymoon. My then-wife and I really did think we were going to die. We were trapped for 45 minutes in a smoke-filled car. People were on the floor, throwing up, gagging, passing out. It was not pleasant.
Avatar 6:22pm Carmichael:

OK, finally made it to the really big shoe.
Avatar 6:24pm northguineahills:

My favorite one was on the A train just north of Canal. We were there for over two hours, and finally, the FDNY arrived and we went through the other train cars and onto the tracks for about 600m. Just a hint of smoke as the fire was in midtown.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Gary:

This is a Super Krazy version!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Doug Schulkind:

@Carmichael
Size doesn't matter, silly!
Avatar 6:29pm Carmichael:

Is the summertime theme due to wishful thinking, or because its warmer than usual where y'all are? It's always 70 degrees in this damn town.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:29pm listener james from westwood:

No fires, but I was trapped in a Midtown Manhattan elevator 2 weeks after 9/11. The bicycle courier with us began jumping up and down in a tantrum b/c he would be late. I looked @ him and said very firmly, "We're ALL going to be late." Based on my tone and face, a third party in the lift later communicated to a coworker that I looked, and I quote, "ready to whip his ass quite calmly."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm davex:

Hi Doug! Just got here - did you move to Australia?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:31pm listener james from westwood:

I just wanted him not to snap the cables or some crap!
Avatar 6:32pm northguineahills:

I got stuck in an elevator at my old office on W 34th Street. It was crowded, but everyone remained calm. The person on the other end of the intercom didn't sound concerned, so one of the ladies next to me feigned illness, that got the fire dept there in a hurry, and we were out in 45 minutes. We had to climb out via a ladder to on top of the the elevator, and climb to the floor above us. Good times.
Avatar 6:33pm Carmichael:

I just that just for the halibut, Doug.
Avatar 6:33pm northguineahills:

jaja, funny davex!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:35pm listener james from westwood:

Now moving to a ranch house far from all elevators and subways!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm Doug Schulkind:

@davex
No way. Not with all them killer spiders. In Australia, I mean.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Gary:

I do not EVER want to be in a trapped elevator.
Avatar 6:38pm northguineahills:

Making cajun hot boiled peanuts, as my mother-in-law has never had them, I forgot how long they take.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Doug Schulkind:

How about with killer spiders, Gary?
Avatar 6:39pm Carmichael:

And flying fish, Gary?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Gary:

I think I'm more freaked out by the elevator than either the slimy flying fish or the deadly spiders. I have nightmares about elevators!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:41pm listener james from westwood:

I know at least one person who avoids them if at all possible. (Elevators. Though I don't think she's big on deadly spiders.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Doug Schulkind:

I could deal with some frying fish right about now.
Avatar 6:45pm ndbob:

@Gary same here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm Doug Schulkind:

I don't believe "She's gonna get out her little toy pair of wings" is in the original lyrics.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:45pm listener james from westwood:

Don't think the Bond theme nod in the Farlowe isn't appreciated.
  6:45pm FrankenNewYork:

In my last car I set all my presets to WFMU, so when my friends tried to change the station by hitting one of the buttons (which happened often) they were stymied.
Avatar 6:46pm Carmichael:

I used to like The Thunderbirds. Man, that was a long time ago.

davex: An elevator whose roof slides open to admit gallons of spiders. No doubt many folks' concept of "1984"'s Room 101.
Avatar 6:56pm ndbob:

excellent show Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Doug Schulkind:

@davex
Nope. Elevators lost to snakes in the semi-finals.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Gary:

[insert "that's because snakes bit and deflated the ball" joke here]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Doug Schulkind:

Aw, you're just saying that, ndbob!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:57pm listener james from westwood:

That is IT! I have had it with these motherfuckin' elevators on this motherfuckin' plane!
Avatar 6:58pm ndbob:

always is Doug:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm davex:

@Doug: I don't want to see the finals.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:58pm listener james from westwood:

Gary, a python gave each pigskin just enough of a loving hug to air it out a bit.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Gary:

LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm davex:

@James: That's major league now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Doug Schulkind:

I don't know. Elevators have their ups and downs.
Avatar 6:59pm northguineahills:

Thanks Doug!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:00pm listener james from westwood:
