Dean:

A confession: Listening yesterday to the campus radio station while running errands in town I heard a proggy instrumental that struck me as suitable for this show, but I didn't catch the back-announce. The bass playing had that Rush-like exaggerated Rickenbacker quality, but I was pretty certain the tune was not those guys. My mistake: It was their "Xanadu" from A Farewell to Kings. I can't believe I enjoyed Rush.

greets all. that lady with the muscles is long dead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
DCE:

@ Dean, that's a good album, actually. You could have been listening to Olivia Newton John sing Xanadu.
Avatar 12:35pm
Tony Coulter:

@ DCE: I don't know -- she looks pretty healthy to me. Could be lifting weights in a retirement home somewhere, at 120-years young.

(Oh, and ... greets!)
  12:35pm
Dean:

@DCE: ONJ singing "Xanadu" I'd have recognized from my record store days. Dare I say the Rush reminded me a bit of Happy the Man? Is that scandalous or what?
Avatar 12:37pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: I enjoy a bit of Rush now and again. One just has to embrace the over-the-topness. In fact, that's part of the charm.
  12:42pm
Dean:

I'm not a big John Adams fan, but I heard this piece performed live in LA with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting and it was good.
