I mixed the wrong version of this, without rain sound effects. Disappointing. Perhaps it will appear on CC8? I usually write these types of things in the week leading up to the show. They are fun for me to make. Multi-tracking in Garageband.

Interesting to hear that Bonham song again. I always thought Jason Bonham did a nice job of being the kid of a famous musician. His dad was, of course, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. This was his debut single in America and I remember it being played a lot on MTV and on rock radio. Very Zep sounding. Especially the vocalist. And the Kashmir overtones are evident. Kind of like the way Julian Lennon's, Velotte, sounded a lot like John Lennon. Anyway ... Mostly it's just a nostalgic thing for me. Something I lived through. Can't hurt to review them. It's not like stuff like this is burning up the airwaves now. Hair metal needs FMU love and attention. All that can do-ooo ... is wait for you.
Street Sounds Manhhattan Last Night "Street Sounds Manhhattan Last Night"
I was going to have a WHOLE show of street sound with no ME in it ... Clay-Free. Which we WILL do in the future I hope. I actually went out for an hour and walked around getting continuous audio footage. In the end, I whittled it down to this couple of minutes. Recorded Wednesday night - Jul 22, 15. NYC 10-11pm. Not that great.
Zephyr	I Am Not Surprised "I Am Not Surprised" by "Zephyr"	Sunset Ride		MP3	Colorado band. Most famous for having Tommy Bolin as a member. I always loved Candy Givens, the singer (harmonica, piano, too). She and Tommy both died young. Both were fantastic talents. Tommy's not on this LP as I recall. I remember this song from when my brother brought this record home from Brown Institute of Radio Technology in Minneapolis. Sound like early 70's summertime to me. Cannibinoid groove. Beyond Denver ... Boulder ... deeper.	0:18:20 (Pop-up)
See The Soldiers - C. Pigeon Another indulgent on-the-spot song. Iraq meets Dennis DeYoung in my mind. Not my best. I like throwing the half-baked things at you anyway. More risky. Think I recorded it too hot. Levels. Distortion. Digital distortion is the worst Unweildy. Probably means it's the best.
Argent	Tragedy "Tragedy" by "Argent"	All Together Now	Epic	MP3	I pretty much explained my history with this song on the show. Did you listen to the show? Are there those who only read the liner notes? I get it. I might do that. Anyway ... this song brings back a lot of great memories of digging music in my room when I was high school. Playing air guitar and dreaming of being a rock star. Russ Ballard helped this band out a lot. Argent was Rod Argent (of The Zombies) band after the Z's disbanded. Argent had a few LPs. "Hold Your Head Up" was their big one. This song is cool. Echo vocals and that choppy guitar.	0:26:38 (Pop-up)
Interviews in the Park - Recorded Wednesday in Union Square Park Wednesday night, 8pm 7/22/15. It was fail. After the second interview, I bailed. Needed a BREAK from week after week of interviewing. It is hard, you guys. So I decided to do the sound of the city show with just an hour of street sound, but I couldn't justify it. I'm not Kenny G. So I got home at 11pm and had to throw something together for the next day ... this show.
LA Guns	Rip and Tear "Rip and Tear" by "LA Guns"			MP3	I walked past the Gramercy Theatre on 23rd St. last Tuesday night. I was surprised to see Tracii Guns and Bulletboys on the marquee. I was too late to catch the show, but it did cause me to go online and check out some old LA Guns and Bulletboys. Tracii Guns is of special interest as a member a band that split off and spawned Guns and Roses. Something pignant, touching, sad, about seeing old heroes playing the small rooms twenty years on. Glory tarnished, But still f-ing rocking, y'know? "cause they HAVE to. And I respect that.	0:36:29 (Pop-up)
Mr. Nettles - C. Pigeon ------- This was a fun one to make. I struggle ALL the time now with my voice, which has aged and which I have damaged quite a bit through screaming, singing, talking, smoking, all these years. I just can't do a lot of voices anymore, and they can't have much range or elasticity. Mostly old people. In this instance, I was upstate and my wife and a friend went of for a while. I was alone, which is rare when you live in the city. Being alone, I was able to speak a little louder and more dramatically than normal. That helped. This was an improv, recorded line for line, very quickly. As usual, the figure of a kind of abusive, dominant figure emerged, and some weak underlings with all the virtues. A recurring theme. Hope you enjoy it. There is no logical ending. I just ran out of time. Endings are overrated anyhow.
Agali "Ali" Ag Amoumine & Alhassane Maïga	Takamba				This is from the FMU library. Every time I slap it on, it always seems to blow away whatever else I've been playing. So fresh and different. I love it. I hate it though, for making the listeners like it better than "my" stuff!	0:55:13 (Pop-up)
UFO	Lights Out "Lights Out" by "UFO"				Kind of a legendary song from early on pre full-on metal (as I recall) - Sorty of back when Priest was doing British Steel before all the other bands truly caught on. UFO's name was bandied about quite freely by cool rocking dudes in-the-know back in the day. UFO, man. Phil Mogg. Lights out. And Schenker on guitar. Michael? Rudolph? I think they both played with The Scorpions. Right? I don't know. I shant Google. Too brain-killing. At any rate the guitar soloist tears it a french-fried new one. Love the tone and the manic, fluid brillaint noodle-ry. Lead guitar. Imagine that.	0:55:25 (Pop-up)

There was a movie theater that ran "The Song Remains the Same" and "Yessongs" every Sat at 11 pm or so... and the original "Rocky Horror" stage show ran for years at the Roxy Theater

	2:41pm schmoo: I was in my teens in LA in the 80s. I hung out at the Whiskey and Roxy and saw bands like the Plimsouls, the Bangles in their early days, and the 3 o'clock. My experience was very tame compared to others, but I did have fun. The Plimsouls were truly amazing.

	2:41pm schmoo: I was in my teens in LA in the 80s. I hung out at the Whiskey and Roxy and saw bands like the Plimsouls, the Bangles in their early days, and the 3 o'clock. My experience was very tame compared to others, but I did have fun. The Plimsouls were truly amazing.
