Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from July 28, 2015 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

@Lopez: just think about it: WFMU is the station where playing Sun City Girls buys a DJ credit to play something weird later on
Avatar 3:20pm
sphere:

hello hello
Avatar 3:21pm
Lopez:

I'm cool with that Fred. In fact, this LST track sounds to me like I'm in the slot machine area of a casino on serious downers

This Gxnt track picks at my regret that the Harsh Noise Wall festival couldn't take place this year. OK, last year attendees may not have outnumbered performers. Still, this was an event I looked forward to

Again, I won't be there but hope you enjoy it. Just to attempt to ruin it though, that Felt track reminded me of Lloyd Cole

Lawrence and Lloyd both took vocal coaching lessons from Verlaine it seems

Ah yes. Two (2) air quality warnings out, heat index warnings, and... in all the great fashion of our times, let the saxophones scream!

bazookajoe:

Middle America sounds like a Slayer version of this 80s band from Carlisle PA called SIK TIKIT, that was the G'n'R version. The 7" came in an 8" jacket and had stupid monster pics all over it. I uploaded it to Youtube, so sik chekit it out.

The cover is a Raymond Pettibon illustration based on a paparazzi photo of Maureen Hindley and her first husband, David Smith, who were witnesses in the case of the Moors murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, driving to the trial in 1966.
