I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Hi Mayuko! I'm able to stop by for a while today.
Yes the Ohm box is great.
Avatar 5:05pm
northguineahills:

I guess it was 2000, so not quite a millenia ago.

Dave B:

Pretty chill, Mayuko. Hope the art intervention was a success.

I'm all Tokyo'd out. Two sets of friends visited over the past two weeks! Good times, good friends, good food, good drinks!

Good afternoon.

Mayuko:

Thanks, Charlie and northguineahills! Today I picked the tracks I want to listen to in that Hall of North American Forests of the museum if I could spend a night in there. I wish they allowed me to do that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm
Uncle Michael:

Is this a radio diorama?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm
maestroso:

Hello Mayuko, I'm just tuning in from Tokyo (just woke up). It's 6:44 am and looks like a lovely day, like yesterday. I had to say hi before it's too late!
Avatar 5:46pm
Mayuko:

That's the best compliment, Uncle Michael!! Dervish, that's so true, they look so real it drives me crazy sometimes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm
Charlie:

Hi Uncle Michael.
Mayuko -- I think the museum should let you program music in those halls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm
Charlie:

Which reminds me, I read once that some airport actually played Brian Eno's Music for Airports and people complained.
Avatar 5:48pm
Mayuko:

ohhh, ohayo maestroso! glad you got there after the typhoon! seemed like it was a huge mess last week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm
Doug Schulkind:

Somebody here is really playing vertigo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Years ago, I had a 6:00AM flight out of Newark. I set up my sleeping bag behind an unused ticket counter and spent the night there. Kind of a similar hallway and with a hard, cold floor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm
Uncle Michael:

Mayuko, we could call you Ma Radio. It's an anagram of diorama.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm
maestroso:

Yes, all is well at least around the city. Had a bird's-eye look from Skytree yesterday, wow, so spectacular!
Avatar 5:50pm
Mayuko:

Charlie, that's so cool! Would be great if Give the Drummer DJs can throw that event rather than just me doing it! But that's hilarious that people didn't enjoy Eno. That could be the consequence for me too if I do it alone.
Avatar 5:51pm
Mayuko:

Doug, Joseph Hammer always does that to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm
Polyus:

Alright Mayuko, glad to see you got a weekly show! Much deserved.
Avatar 5:52pm
Mayuko:

Would be a wonderful experience, Ken, if you could spend some time in such place by yourself and play music loud in such acoustic environment. I can see that being dreamy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm
Charlie:

@Doug, I think you should program music for the museum's hall of peoples or whatever they call it.
Avatar 5:53pm
Mayuko:

Welcome on board, Polyus! Thanks for your kind words!

Ken From Hyde Park:

It's an odd feeling to walk around the Saguaro cactus desert in Arizona. It's like having giant, silent people all over watching you pass by on the trail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm
Doug Schulkind:

My wife's previous boyfriend is an anthropologist and ethnomusicologist who used to be on staff at the American Museum of Natural History. In 2013 he was a panelist, along with Ken Freedman, at the Audio Engineering Society convention. The subject was: "WFMU's Adventures in 24/7 Archiving: Using On-Demand Programs and Crowd-Sourced Metadata to Grow a Radio Audience."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Charlie:

Gotta go now. Thanks, Mayuko!

@Ken: I lived in Tucson for awhile, and I have a picture of a friend standing next to a saguaro. I always have to point her out, the cactus is so huge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
coelacanth:

yes they're impressive. i have a postcard with a photograph of a car being crushed by a fallen saguaro. "Welcome to Arizona!"

@Charmichael - They're heavy, too. www.threestarowl.com...

ahh, I'd love to see them, Ken, Carmichael. I saw them in Arizona only a long time ago when I was little. All I see now are make-believe in the glass cases.

That Audio Engineering Society convention thing sounds interesting, Doug, I will look into that after the show.
