It's hard to believe that over fifteen years have passed since Antibalas launched the global Afrobeat revival, inspired by Fela Kuti's classic soul-inspired, horn-driven workouts.

Tonight we welcome a youthful instrumental outfit that proves this musical idiom can still inspire great new artists: Ithaca, New York's Big Mean Sound Machine.

The band's autumn east coast tour includes a midnight show at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory on Friday September 25th - and their Garden State debut in WFMU's Studio B tonight!
