  3:06pm Noel:

Rollers and Records sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hey, Bill! How'd the knee transplant go?
  3:11pm P-90:

Hi Bill and Wastelanders everywhere
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

I'm surprised the Men Without Hats original of "Pop Goes the World" wasn't as big a hit as "Safety Dance".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

Is this new Chills? Martin P just keeps writing classics...
  3:26pm Noel:

Men Without Hats version should have been a hit . It sounds like "Nobody's Diary" by Yaz
  3:29pm JoeChrisMorris:

play A House Is Not A Motel for Buzz!
  3:36pm Noel:

Haven't heard Cookie lend me your comb in 55 years and Omaha jesus bill that new leg is getting me up to dance.
Avatar 3:37pm Mailman Tom:

Moby Grape! Ever heard their instrumental jam, "Dark Magic" ?
  3:38pm Linda Lee:

great show so far Bill! love hearing the Kookie song. Ed (Kookie) Burns was a good friend of my folks' back in the late 50s (my dad was a bookie & enforcer for the latin mafia).
Avatar 3:51pm bobdoesthings:

bill smash it!! smash it!!
Avatar 3:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Moby Grape was exceptional (especially 1st album - personally got exposed by my older bro in my toddlerhood, so, roots) - & Arwen Lewis' covers are sterling.
Avatar 4:02pm Mailman Tom:

The Orlons did the original version of this song.
Avatar 4:03pm Mailman Tom:

I'll be checking out Arwen Lewis. Thanks!
  4:17pm Linda Lee:

am i the only one seeing no playlist?
Avatar 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

No Linda - Bill Mac puts his playlists up later.
Avatar 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Bill Kelly I mean...
  4:19pm Linda Lee:

aha. thanks Rev.
  4:20pm Don't Throw Our Video Away !:

@Mailman Tom:
The Orlons Stephen Caldwell replied by email to your late June/early July post, about their having no live videos from the day. He wrote American Bandstand just dumped out all the footage when moving from 46th & Market out to LA, until outraged people found out. The Orlons 1962 appearance on the show is lost forever. - Shishka Bob
  4:39pm shishka bob:

Who were the LA back-up singers on Monster Mash ?
  5:33pm Al:

Hollywood Argyles I think.
  6:30pm The dj:

Ken from Hyde Park...it was surgery for a torn meniscus. Shishka Bob...Darlene Love and the Blossoms.
  6:47pm The dj, part deux:

Other Blossoms were Fanita James and Gloria Jones. Twins Nanette and Annette Williams likewise sang with them. Jack Nitzsche's wife, Grazia, occasionally joined the sessions as well.
  10:23pm Wah Ooh !:

Thanks, I like Al's thinking, finally solved ! That's why Monster Mash sounds like Sinatra/That's Life . . . the dj didn't mention Suburban Homes is Paul Messis . . . wonder if Rubber Room qualifies Nicole Atkins' “What Country Was” . . . playing Orlons' original Don't Throw Your Love Away for hours . . . favs so far from Jacuzzi Boys, Jackets . . . "Mouse & the Traps" !
  10:09am The dj:

The vocal for the Suburban Homes certainly doesn't sound at all like Paul Messis, but he was the guy who first brought them to my attention.
