This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

I think heavy saturation is good. I've seen Patrick Cowley's name a lot but I'm not familiar with his music, so hearing it a few times is a good introduction.

At 6:05 ET, the stream played "Mazinka" by Steven Bernstein. That was followed by "Woman Coming" by James Blood Ulmer. Not sure about a string harp number. I don't see anything that appears to be of that description around that time.

I've been thinking about that too, Sadhu. I would like to, but so much of that sort of time goes into prepping a new show each week. But this is just the first year I've done this, I'm learning to make more time, and I have some cool mix ideas coming up

wow wonderful! wonderful!

I think the next one will be Plant Musics, which I've already done a show on, but I thought it would be a good mix too
Avatar 8:55pm
Sadhu Sadhu:

Yea, i can imagine that most of that time goes for prepearing shows and leaves less time to make mixes on top of that, so a mix again would be a super bonus. But now i at least know that you are still thinking of doing some again!
Avatar 8:56pm
Flash Strap:

this stuff is from a really amazing Partch "Dance Satire" :

Argument
We are all bewitched, and mostly by accident: the accident
of form, color, and sex; of prejudices conditioned from the
cradle on up, of the particular ruts we have found ourselves
in or have dug for ourselves because of our individual needs.
Those in a long-tenanted rut enjoy larger comforts of mind an
d body, and as compensation it is given to others who are
not so easily domesticated to become
mediums for the transmission of perception, more frequently. Among these are the
lost musicians. The present-day musician grows up in a half
-world between “good” music and “not-so-good” music. Even
when he has definitely made his choice between the two, he
is still affected by the other, and to that extent he is
dichotomous and disoriented. His head is bathed in an ancien
t light through a Gothic window while his other end swings
like a miniature suspension bridge in a cool right-angle
gale. The perception of displaced musicians may germinate,
evolve, and mature in concert, through a de
veloping at-one-ness, through their beat.
