Today's Tape Hiss will be a special bizarro-world edition featuring two comps of truly weird "incorrect music"–type strangeness. Then, as a palate-cleanser, we will listen to a tape by Boy in Love.

  12:39pm
Joe Shlabotnik:

Hey Doug & Kay.
Rhino's came long before mine. I did volume 1 in 2008. However, Rhino lets me use the Golden Throats name. I made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Remarkable experimentation with harmony and counterpoint here.
  1:08pm
Dean:

And Linda took so much guff for not being Kiri te Kanawa.

Dean (or Edna Anagram), at least Mike Lee Wolfberg never tried his hand at photography.

Tony, the subtitle on this comp is Joe Shlabotnik's Anti-Gospel Mix.

@Joe: This is fantastic! I love it!
  1:47pm

This song just convinced me to go to Hell.
  1:48pm
Dean:

Speaking of Rush, there's a fun passage in Bill Bruford's auto-bio about an invitation from Neil Peart to contribute to a compilation album tribute to Buddy Rich produced by Peart. Bruford was a bit puzzled by the solicitation, so he wrote a song for the occasion, which was not the point. Nevertheless, after a few false starts the tune was recorded, in addition to a right proper tune for which Rich was known.
