I guess you archive Tape Hiss shows, but WFMU doesn't!

When this first aired I missed F&FU, a band I'd been eager to hear since, oh, the late '70s, early '80s. Today I'm poised to hear it!

I didn't get to hear all of this the first time around, so nice to hear it again.

Is RK making fun of poetry slam delivery, or is he trying to affect poetry slam delivery?
Avatar 2:14pm
Cecile:

probably a little of both.
I'd like to know more about Randall Kennedy, but all I can find is the track listing for his tapes, and stuff about the Harvard law professor.

Dean:

Here's a photo of him, I assume: http://livingarchive.doncampau.com/tape_labels/trance-port-tapes Yeah, I keep running into the HLS prof, even when I search alternative news for randall kennedy and punk and los angeles.

Somebody care to explain this sacrilege? http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/eats/rock-club-cbgb-reopening-restaurant-newark-airport-article-1.2473259

RK is mentioned twice in Italian here: http://www.ondarock.it/speciali/trancecaliforniana.htm Not much detail, but I love that Kommunity FK gets a mention. Really enjoyed that band.

@Stanley: I know! It's like The Masque reopening as a muffler repair shop.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
Stanley:

@Dean - a muffller repair shop is still more useful than a 'themed' burger and fries bar.
  2:51pm
Dean:

Especially if you need your muffler repaired.
  2:55pm
Dean:

Actually, the original Masque couldn't reopen as a muffler repair shop. It was located in the basement, accessible via an alley, of the Pussycat theater on Hollywood Blvd. The second location would be more fitting. It was at street level on Santa Monica Blvd.
  2:57pm
Dean:

In fact, today it's a paint and plaster shop: http://bit.ly/1U2ZBad
